Protein, Fiber, FATs, AND complex carbohydrates keep you full longer.
Look for foods that give you the most "bang for your calorie buck" and you will not be hungry.
Many people who are overweight (myself included) do not eat because they are physically "hungry" and the same people eat calorie rich foods that are nutritionally void.
I love my white sugar ...... but it's a total WASTE of calories unfortunately.
Appetite suppressants are a "temporary fix."0 -
Celery with some protien such as Natural peanut butter (salt and sugar free)0

food works for me :huh:0

I wouldn't recommened any pills or OTC products. You want to supress food cravings you will need to gain some WILLPOWER.
It's tough to say no to cravings so here are some tips to help alleviate/grow your will power. If you are craving something the best thing to do is get distracted. This is simple, clean the house, call a friend and gossip, go for a walk, run a errand etc. Do anything that will distract you/prevent you from thinking about a craving.
If you still need more motivation, drink water, filling your stomach with liquid will temporarily trick the body to thinking your are full. Chew gum, the act biting on something will end cravings. If you are looking for something sweet, eat a fruit, they are 90% water, full of nutrients and have natural sugars.
Just work on growing will power and soon enough you will have no problem coping.0 -

You burn calories when you eat; i.e., it takes energy to digest your food. Even more so for breakfast! That's why it's important to eat every 3-4 hours. Ideally, breakfast/lunch/dinner with 3 snacks in between.
Also, watch you ratios (protein:carbs:fats). Everyone is different but my current ratios are 50:30:20. I eat 100% clean and aim for a low-fat/low-glycemic diet. I suggest following someone's diary to see how they're are eating. Minimize processed foods. Unprocessed foods are always better for you and you burn more calories eating "real" food than not.
Lastly, WATER, WATER, WATER!!! I drink 1 - 2 gallons of water per day. I include herbal teas with that total but it's mainly H20. I don't drink anything "diet". No diet soda, no diet energy drinks, etc.
Fat loss is simple but it's not easy. Once you get the hang of it, it's fun! :-)
Good luck!0 -
my doctor prescribed me phentermine after i had my baby and it worked really well for me. i lost all my baby weight and got down to a size 0. however, you must change your eating habits and work out or the weight will come back.0

I went to a five meal a day diet. It's pretty tough to be hungry when you eat every three hours or so. Years ago I did a structured diet plan that required a five meal schedule. To be a meal it has to be a minimum 150 calories and contain a protein and I try to limit each meals carbs to less than 25 (I rarely stay this low but it's a target). I have found this plan helps me even out my blood sugars and keeps the cravings away. You would be amazed at how fast they go away.0

It would be your lunch... trust me! LOL!0 -
I find chewing sugar free gum (cinneman) curves my hunger and keeps my mouth busy. I take fiber suppliments with every meal (2 grms) and eat high protien. Dr Oz had saffron extract on his Friday show as an appetite suppressant. I've never tried it so good luck. I have cravings all the time. I tried the 5-6 mini meal thing. It does NOT work for me. The only way I can stay on any diet is to eat 3 meals a day, no snacking. (I write in snacks but they are usually something I ate with my meal) When I eat those mini meals I'm just always hungry. When I eat 3 meals I feel full for up to 3 hrs after. If it's late in the day and I feel like snacking I drink green tea, diet caffiene free soda, and water. If it after 7pm I brush my teeth put on jammies and go to bed, then the kitchen isn't as tempting.0

eat small amounts of food every 3 hours, drink water and non caffienated drinks. That will block your appetite the safest way of all and better still, depending on the foods can help you keep your metabolism up.
Check out my diary if you want examples.
Note: My food plan is specifically designed for my body and blood type as well as my age/sex and weight.0 -
Eating more food tends to make the hunger disappear. I know it sounds crazy, but it works. Now I'm not hungry all the time and steadily losing weight. Crazy how that works.
Eat nutrient dense foods, and eat when you're hungry, until you're satisfied. Boom! It works.0 -
I really want something that really blocks my appetite. Before there was sibutramine, but they dont sell it anymore. Xenical is buh-uh...
Anyone has any idea?
It is basically going to come down to eat more throughout the day and drink water. Good advice!0 -

protein is the best thing...You never really know what you're getting in "those pills". I certainly wouldn't trust them.
Good luck! :flowerforyou:0 -

For me, healthy fats like avocado helps reduce hunger. Also, eating sugar increases my hunger, so I try to avoid it as best as I can.0
