On baked potatoes, with berries, mixed with drained tuna and topped with lemon pepper, layed in lasagna, on cantaloupe, on crackers, use your imagination - the list is endles.

I mix cottage cheese with tuna and chives. I eat it on wheat crackers, or just by itself. I don't measure but I think I use about half a cup of cottage, probably 3oz. tuna, and a hand full of chives.
    That sounds delicious!

Well, I'm Italian and I prefer ricotta because of the smoother texture. I love eating ricotta right out of the container plain. But, cottage cheese makes a nice breakfast for me, mixed with a bit of artificial sweetener (or agave nectar) and cinnamon and spread on top of whole grain toast.

    1/2 cup cottage cheese
    1/2 cup rolled oats
    1/2 banana
    3 egg whites
    vanilla
    cinnamon

put it in a blender, mix and pour onto a hot lightly sprayed pan or griddle

    flip when there are bubbles

    makes about 3 pancakes

I like mine with jam or fresh fruit!

Do you put every thing in the blender and do you have nutritional info?

  • I put it in ALMOST everything! It is my favorite food! But, a really good option for a "sweet snack" is to just mix in any flavor of protein powder! If you don't wanna use powder for flavor, extracts work good too. Like raspberry, strawberry, orange, rum, almond, coconut, vanilla, there are all different flavors you could try! Or just regular fruit works too! Have fun with it and play around with it!

I used to enjoy low fat cottage cheese with pineapple from the supermarket...but the price in the UK has risen from 1 dollar to 1.7 dollars for a small tub...this in the space of 6 months...so cottage cheese is off the menu for me!

I despise the texture of it, but a friend suggested putting it in the food processor. I tried that and it came out like cream cheese, so now I use it like that in anything I would usually use cream cheese in.

I splash a little worchestershire in mine. It kind of reminds me of a curry dish.
I also like to eat mine with canned mandarin oranges or pears. (-:

    Mediterranean Tuna Salad

    2Tbsp. Cottage Cheese
    1Tbsp. Mayonnaise
    1tsp.Italian Dressing
1can (3 oz.) white tuna in water, well drained, flaked
4 stuffed green olives, sliced (about 1 Tbsp.)
    1medium tomato, cut into wedges

This is one of my favorite tuna salad recipes! Got it off of Kraft recipes site. It's very filling and really tasty! I think you'll like it!

I just got some to try to use it pureed (and strained if necessary) as a sub for mayo. Anyone ever try that?

I used to think I hated cottage cheese till I started scrambling it in my eggs. soooooo good that way! I also mix it with ranch dressing powder and eat it with veggies sometimes, or with hot sauce...I realized I actually like it when I mix it with other things!
Now that sounds good.....I'll be scrambling this morning!!
