I'm up for this one...except for Saturday night. Can't promise that I won't have a beer at the baseball game ...BF and I will be celebrating our three year anniversary with the Mets when they come to DC. Can't wait!

Ok guys, I'm in serious need of a reality check.
Truth is I've been upset all day that I "only" lost 5 lbs. I know. That sounds ridiculous. My thoughts were that I'd have two big weeks of weigh loss show up this week and I guess I kinda psyched myself out. I actually had DREAMS last night about stepping on the scale and it was under 200. I want that SO BAD.
I should be HAPPY that this 14 lbs that took me 3 months to gain came off in 3 weeks. That's awesome! Better than I've ever done! But I've been dreaming big and expecting miracles and that's just not going to happen.
So there's the truth. I need a good slap in the face. I need my dreams and goals to float back on down to earth.
I still hope I make 197 by the 17th. That's pretty unrealistic though. 4 lbs the next 2 weeks in a row when i worked harder than hard this past week and lost 5? I think not.
I'm sad about that. I'm sad about myself. :ohwell: I'd sad that I set my expectations so high and that I didn't reach them and that i let myself become so disappointed.
I need a big 'ol slap in the face. Cuz if I keep this up, I'll just continue to be disappointed when I have no logical reason to be disappointed. And who wants that?
So someone... kick me. Hard. :huh:

Remember that 5 pounds is fantastic!! Some of us gained. Let me tell you that I worked just as hard as you and I gained 1.4 pounds. Some of us are stuck at a weight that we don't like and have been there for quiet some time so to lose 5 pounds is fantastic. Remember it is coming off and that you will like yourself that much more when you look down and see that your not all flabby because you did it slow and build muscle too.
An old co worker of mine lost about 50 in 4 or 5 months but looks flabby beacuse she didn't workout to tone.0 -

You have nothing to be disappointed about, you lost 5 freaking pounds this week! It's great to have goals, but don't set yourself up for a fall by expecting the moon every week. Whether you hit that number in 2 weeks or not,, you have done some awesome work. One way or another, you are going to get to 197 and to whatever goal you have...so don't put so much pressure on yourself.

It's ok Vanessa. We are here for the reality checks. Of course we would all love for the scale to say 5 pounds every week- or more. It's not real and it's not the right way to do it. Enjoy your 4's, 5's, even 3's and 2's that you lose. Eventually as you near goal, you will hit the point where it slows so much that one tenth loss makes you happy. Trust me.0

Well last week was rough.... It was just an off week. My eating wasnt bad but the excersice was inconsistant so It wasnt suprised with the result. But hey no worries. Everyone did such a great job with the scale challenge. Here's to a new week. Great job to those who lost last week. And great job to those who didnt.
