I unfortunately know several people diagnosed with Cancer. They were all treated quickly and efficiently. So ex-patriot get your facts straight please.0

Yeah, we can produce new money all the time cuz there's not very many of us up here. :noway:
She's a collectible coin kids - costs a lot more than a quarter to get one AND it's okay to be jealous.
That said - take a look at our new paper money (the 50s and 100s). THOSE are really in circulation, and they are THE coolest currency ever.0 -
The sibling rivalry is alive and well, isn't it?0
-
WHAT? Sorry I couldn't hear you over our booming economy and free health care.

Just avoid cancer, or anything time restricted, because then you'll have to go south for timely (and pricely) care, or die waiting for the free stuff to get to you.
(From a Canuck residing in the USA)
Perhaps you'd like to say that to my mother who is getting treatments for cancer right now. There wasn't even a week between her disgnoses and the beginning of her treatments. Want to know how far south she's had to go? She had her choice between two hospitals both 1.5 hours away. Neither of which are in the U.S.
And it's not free, we pay our taxes - the point is that we aren't crippled and lives aren't potentially ruined a sudden sickness or injury occurs. We get our medical issues taken care of THEN, not when an insurance company decides whether or not our condition was "pre-existing".0 -

Ibeing Canadian!!!!
Me too! Nothing better than the 'great white' North - she says while sitting outside in the sunshine.0 -
I wonder if we will be able to use it in our soda machines here...0

To all arguing about health care:
Take your argument to another thread. This thread is about glow in the dark dinosaur money, (which I think is rather cool as a geologist because I love fossils). I didn't know it was a collector coin either ha ha (didn't really read the article all the closely :blushing: )0 -

omg....thank you for that! Made my day!0 -
Canadians think ham is bacon.
Americans think ice cream and bacon will be the next big hit at Burger King!0 -

Hahaha... after seeing the price of the quarter coin... $30 I would say so... but I was just being snarky...0 -

And we are right!0 -
It's a collector's coin and costs 30$. And why not, Canada's awesome.

Say WHAT? That is awesome! I am so collecting that collectable coin.WHAT? Sorry I couldn't hear you over our booming economy and free health care.

Except IT'S NOT FREE! Somebody has to pay for it... I'm sure there isn't a country of Doctors and Nurses and Administrators that are just showing up to work for free... I'm sure the medicine isn't paying for itself... and I'm sure the companies aren't just giving it away.... You still are paying for healthcare... you just may not have a co-pay everytime you go to the doctor... Why do people keep insisting it's Free when it's not? Not technically... not really.... not at all.
Sorry, pet peeve of mine. :grumble:
All I know is that I'm on medication for life for an autoimmune illness and I pay $2000 a year, whereas in the US it would cost me closer to $10,000, and that's before you count in all the doctor and specialist appointments I have to go to annually, which don't cost me an extra cent. Thanks, fellow Canucks, for helping me out!
Anytime I hear that people have to go into debt because of medical bills, it makes me incredibly sad. Access to healthcare is a right in the minds of Canadians, not a privilege.0 -
So, that Canadian coin story page had a link to this, which really hit my nerd G-spot: http://www.nzmint.com/starwars/0
