The last time I made a joke about Canadians an equivalent number of people laughed as reported me and I was severely reprimanded. Evidently, the large number of funny Canadians who come south and make it in Hollywood take with them an exhorbitant share of Canadian humor leaving those still there wanting in the giggle department. So for God's sake let's be careful joking about our sensitive northern neighbors. They're not all the Kids in the Hall after all.

Except IT'S NOT FREE! Somebody has to pay for it... I'm sure there isn't a country of Doctors and Nurses and Administrators that are just showing up to work for free... I'm sure the medicine isn't paying for itself... and I'm sure the companies aren't just giving it away.... You still are paying for healthcare... you just may not have a co-pay everytime you go to the doctor... Why do people keep insisting it's Free when it's not? Not technically... not really.... not at all.

All I know is that I'm on medication for life for an autoimmune illness and I pay $2000 a year, whereas in the US it would cost me closer to $10,000, and that's before you count in all the doctor and specialist appointments I have to go to annually, which don't cost me an extra cent. Thanks, fellow Canucks, for helping me out!
Anytime I hear that people have to go into debt because of medical bills, it makes me incredibly sad. Access to healthcare is a right in the minds of Canadians, not a privilege.
