what food can you NOT give up?

I was curious to know what foods you guys can and will not give up with your lifestyle change. For me, it's cheese!! I would rather give up chocolate.

    bread
  • To be totally honest, I haven't really given anything up. I've just been eating the same things but less of it :) Unless you put pizza in front of me.. then it's all over for the day lol

Coffee...I refuse to EVER give up coffee. But thankfully I like it black, so even if you take out all the sweet creamy stuff, I still like it!

And Mexican food...I will adapt it to make it healthier, but I could never give up my fajitas!

Funny you said that because when I first read the topic title my thought was "CHOCOLATE" as is evident in my food diary.

I'm just learning to cut back on my portions, I've never tracked my calories before until I started using MFP and it really opened my eyes as to why I wasn't loosing weight in the past (I'd always think 'well it's advertised as healthy' but I'd eat way over healthy portion sizes). I'm too much of a 'foodie' too give most things up :P, please I think it also prevents me from 'splurging' if I don't have something every so often.
  • Chocolate.
So I just switched to dark chocolate and eating milk chocolate in small amounts (:

There's a lot of things I won't give up...weekly pizza night being one. Luckily, I've never been much of a candy/chocolate eater, so that stuff is pretty easy for me to stay away from.

Cheesecake, on the other hand... ;-)

hmmm... I don't think I've given up anything. I've not had things at the moment, but doesn't mean I've given them up for good.

Everything. If I like it, I eat it. Schedule it into your calories. don't give up anything. it just sets you up for failure and over eating when you finally give in.

    I have a couple...

    1. Peanut butter. Preferably crunchy jiff (:
After a couple days of not having it, I go crazy.. And usually ends in peanut butter binges. Lol

    2. Bread. I make a lot of sandwiches

    3. Cheesecake. Forget all the other desserts I can't live without cheesecake.

    4 pizza. Love it

I haven't given up anything that I really love. I simply eat it moderation. I don't want to go the rest of my life without a Reese's peanut butter cup or bread or pizza.

    Beer here as well.
I thought I would have lots of trouble with cheese but apart from the occasional bit in a frittata or something I don't really think about it anymore.

The easier question is what HAVE I given up lol

Dr. Pepper (I'm starting to drink it again, in extreme moderation)
    Curly Fries/Cheese Curds
    Ranch Dressing

Anything else is fair game in small portions/moderation

All of them. Though most are limited. And I never can have granola bars, candy, chips, etc. in the house because I know I'll overeat on them. Hence why I stop at gas stations so often. lol

^^^I'm the same way. Everything in moderation.

I know if I cut all of the stuff out I love, I won't be able to maintain it. I've had random cake cravings for like two months. When I have things like that, I make sure to only take one serving and work it into my day. I think that allowing myself to do that lets me know that I can keep this up forever because I'm not losing anything by doing all of this but pounds on the scale. Yummy "bad" foods aren't going to throw you off by eating a small amount unless you let them.
