OMG-WHAT A MORNING! We are soooo sore! My time wasn't as good as I thought and I struggled a lot (more than I hoped):grumble: , and my daughter said that it was aweful! The weather was sunny and hot right at the start-68-85 degrees.People were passing out everywhere. The Medics were very busy. I had a bad start, but made up some time. By mile 6 was ready to quit. I phoned my husband and was very discouraged. McKenzie was way ahead I thought, but had to walk a lot also. I'll keep you posted of the times this week. I'm a bit dissapointed with mine, as last year just seemed that much easier, mind you we had a cool, cloudy day. People-strangers and volunteers are sooo awesome and encouraging. I have to say, that some people definitley helped me keep going.:flowerforyou: Get this-out of the time I had my HRM going, about 4 hours, average HR-78%, Max-108%!! Surprised I didn't have a heart attack! I burned 2900 calories! Of course I drank Gatorade and energy gel and had a big breaky, but is that crazy! I thought of you guys and your thoughts a few times and kept plugging along. Thanks again. I heard them announce my name as I ran through the finish.

Glad it's done. Next year if I'm gonna try it again, I should train. Or run a less amount. My old achey body can't take it. It is a very emotional and strength testing event, that's for sure! I'm so proud of my 12 yr old. Not too many even attempting it.  :smooched: Good night.. Up at 430, now noon-nappy time.
It doesn't matter how fast you did it - YOU DID IT!!!! Way to go!

Thanks guys! My official time-2:59:53-Just made it under 3 hours! I'm only dissapointed cause last year I did it in 2:48, and spent 1/2 hour at the medics for blisters. Now it entices me to try it again next year! My girlfriend told me a guy who runs it every year said this one was the hardest due to the weather, so I don't feel so bad, in fact yay I did it under 3 hours and I had to walk a lot! My daughter get 2:46. Way to go to her!!! She's alot sorer today than me, but she sprinted in, and probably doesn't truly understand the importance of a good cool down.:smooched:  Thanks again to you guys, you're awesome. Now to get back on track...it's my son's Grad dinner tonight. Egad, I see gravy in my future....

2900 calories?!?!?!?! Is that even possible?:noway:
    [/quote]

    For sure.
I just started interval training, walking with spurts of jogging. I burned 950 calories in ~50 mins and today 1250 calories in 1hr 10 mins. My first over 1,000 calorie burned workout.

Depends on your heart rate, excess weight etc.

hmo4 - wtg, under 3 hours with that weather. That's awesome.

So I have started setting my water bottle (with straw) right in front of my keyboard on my laptop at work so now I just tilt my head down and drink. I am drinking a lot more that usual. :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: . Still no pop or chocolate for 6 days.

I am still chocolateless for 6 days too. Not too difficult really. I also did so many crunches and ab work on Saturday that it hurt to move and breathe all day yesterday--whose great idea was that? I guess It was good for me. I did week 4 day 1 of Couch 2 5k today. Boy it almost killed me off. I think I may have to repeat this week. :noway: It sounds like it has been a very eventful weekend, congrats to those who ran races, I spent the weekend home visiting family and nursing a sick hubby--no fun. Keep up the good work everyone. In no time we will be slimmer versions of ourselves!

I just did Week 4 day 1 too! I had to push myself to finish, but I did it!

Annnnnnnnnnnnnd I blew the whole chocolate thing. Wasn't thinking - had Boston Creme Pie yogurt and didn't realize what happened until it was too late. :ohwell: But I'm not giving up and eating tons of chocolate. I'll try not to have any more until Thursday!

I got a job! I got a job! I got a job! I've been working on this job since the end of February, so I'm really excited. And when my husband comes back, we'll be working for the same agency but in different areas. Have I mentioned that I'm excited?!

Eating really stunk today. I wasn't in the mood to eat healthy stuff or even real food at all. I fixed a frozen meal I had previously cooked for dinner and as soon as I smelled it cooking, it made me nauseous and I chunked most of it. So, I had popcorn for dinner. I really wish I would have read your post, Alapointe! But at least the chocolate bar made it two whole nights before I ate it. That's the most I've EVER lasted with chocolate in the house that I knew about. And now I know that I'm still not strong enough to have it here. I'll try again in a few months. I'm feeling mighty bloated with all the sodium today and kicking myself for eating like crap. I'm about to go plan my food for tomorrow so I'm not left making decisions while hungry... and then I'm going to bed so I can rest up for exercise tomorrow!

    Fabulous job, Jacqueline and debnu!
Way to go, thumper and hm04!
    And everyone else I missed!!!
The Blue Team is definitely the BEST!!!!!!!

Here's to a better Tuesday for me and anyone else who needs it...

Drink a BIG glass of water and brush your teeth! Maybe the water will give you the full feeling and brushing will kill any other flavors in your mouth.

My very recent ex-bf just got denied a green card. Our wonderful immigration board told him either you get married or get out, and they, as well as his lawyer, are keeping the thousands of dollars I loaned him.

I am completely crushed right now, and just want to run away. :brokenheart:

I don't remember the chocolatey flavor of the boston creme pie yogurt so my vote is it doesn't count. You are still anti chocolate  I am glad to have a buddy along the same lines of the C25K with me. I was told it gets easier after week three--Ya right! I will push myself to finish tomorrow and I am sure I will be able to do it.

The greatest news of today is that actually logging all your intake really works :noway: I am down three lbs from last week! Hooray!!!

    Have a great Tuesday everyone!!

I agree with the glass of water and brushing of the teeth. Ask yourself if you are really hungry--Can you feel it in your gut or is it the taste of something that you feel. That will tell you if you are satisfying a real need or just a craving/emotional need. If brushing doesn't work try exercising while the baby is being good and then go for the highest fiber item in your house and pair it with some protein and a huge glass of water:bigsmile: That should take care of it. Take good care of your baby:flowerforyou:
I am sorry she is sick, that is never fun. But enjoy the cuddle time if you can--that is the best part of my babies when they are sick, they just want to be held and cuddle all day. I'll take all that I can get! :smooched:

First of all, chocolate flavored yogurt DOES NOT COUNT. :flowerforyou: Actually, to me, if it's lo cal or like a protein bar, but choclate flavor-doesn't count. It's the refined sugars, etc, I'm trying to stay away from. Not too lucky the past couple days. Allowed myself a cheat day on Sun.:grumble: and yesterday was my son's grad. I ATE EVERYTHING IN SITE AND THEN SOME!!:explode:  I feel like a fat cow right now. Not even hungry since I had to get up at 0300-0430, to pick him up from his safe grad, wait in line FOREVER to sign him out, and then get home and back to sleep. I'm so tired but I had to get up and clean up. Is it really gonna kill me to not eat yet? Cause absolutely nothing appeals to me but my bed.
Rach-sorry to hear of your latest prob-write the $$ and him off and carry on with your life. It's not worth the stress, battle and weight gain! DON'T MARRY HIM! You've been so happy lately.
I too have days where nothing satisfies me. Chew some gum maybe, drink lots of water, and keep your hands busy.

Thanks for all the help i knew i could count on you guys. The water wasn't really helping me, that is the first thing i tried. I did brush my teeth, and then chewed some gum, and kept myself busy.

I am a boredom eater and eat when i have nothing to do, so i think that was my problem. My baby really isn't a baby anymore, but she will always be my baby. I am so sad that i can barely pick her up these days. On the plus side when i look at it this way. I have lost the same amount of weight that my 6 year old weighs. I lost a 6 year old.

Thanks for all the help everyone.:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

Had a short time to exercise so I walked 10 minutes to the local college track, ran a sub 12 minute mile and then walked the 10 minutes back home - 300 calories - not too bad...I am just tickled with the 11.45m mile.

I was all set to do the 30 day shred when my daughter woke up early from her nap again today, only I didn't even manage to get started this time! Housework always comes first and then my workouts because I figure I'm still burning calories with housework and I can't stand to live in grime for both my sanity and my daughter's health.

Anyway, you exercise divas inspired me to figure something out to burn at least SOME calories! I ended up dancing around my living room with weights while my daughter played. I incorporated some level 1 Shred moves (squat & press, jumping jacks, jump rope, etc) and danced around while I was cooking dinner. I can't put my exercise mat down because my daughter thinks it's her playmat but I managed to get in about 60 crunches before she decided to climb on me. All in all, I'm proud of her for self-entertaining for 20 minutes while I worked out. I just have to tell myself that it's 160 calories more than what I would've burned had I sat on the floor with her and played while my dinner was cooking.

It was a good change, though. I'm really bored of the Shred now but I'm still not up to doing level 2 yet. I'm bored of just walking, too (no jogging stroller and no funds to purchase one). The good thing about my new job is that I should have access to a free workout room in the next few months - I just have to work up the courage to go with all the smokin' hot cops and recruits working out in there!

So I sat the other night and wrote out some weight loss goals to keep myself motivated. I figured that seeing the scale hardly move that I have to give myself more time to for the weight to come off. So I decided that if I could lose 2 lbs every 3 weeks that I would be extremely happy with that. So the day that I set this up I was at 136 and now I am at 134, I am so excited. I set my mini goal weight to be 134 at the beginning of July. So 1 mini goal achieved now I am working on another 2 lb goal.
This week has been super busy. I haven't had time to get a workout in but I believe I will have time tomorrow morning to run!!
I am so glad to see you all here and pushing forward.

I'm so proud of this team...everyone is doing so well and pushing so hard!

I was shocked that I lost over this last week. With all this drama, lack of sleep, and barely any exercise, I was sure I had gained. Not to mention the lack of meals, most of what I did eat was fast food though I probably managed to stay in my calories.....I haven't been logging. :blushing:

Back on track though! My little brother comes home in 15 days! I set a goal a few weeks back when I weighed 196....I told him I would weigh 185 when he got home, and I'm at 188.2 now. 3.2lbs in 15 days....nooooo problem!!! :drinker:

You guys are sooo awesome! Way to dance around and burn some cals! That's my fave way to exercise most days!
Rach-glad you're smilin' after all that crap. You are doing so awesome, he, and the others can eat their hearts out.

As for me, actually wasn't hungry yesterday much, so I only had about 1000 cals (healthy food for once), and was ok with it, since I ate about 10,000 cals the prior 2 days! Apparently it's "normal" for your body to be wonky for a couple days after a Marathon. Feel great, had an awesome clean breaky. I bought some coconut oil at the marathon expo-it's really good! My daughter even likes it! Put it into my oatmeal today. I feel younger already!

Going to yet ANOTHER Doc for some Orthotics to be made. My feet are always soo achey at night. Hope it helps-they're not cheap. Thank God for Health Insurance! My weigh in is next week. Haven't stepped on the scale at all this month:noway: :noway: So hopefully I'll see some kind of downward movement. Chat later...:drinker:
