How to flirt

About the "just smile" thing ... I recently had two male friends tell me to do this because it allegedly tells men that you are open to being approached. So yesterday, I saw two cute guys. Both made eye contact with me multiple times from a short distance. I smiled at both of them, and they both quickly looked away. One guy looked like he wanted to say something to me because he kind of gave me a half smile before he looked away. And then nothing. This advice is a fail, so far.
The smile with eye contact is good advice - it should work. Be approachable. If you have eye contact more than once - put on lipstick, while holding eye contact. If that doesn't work and you have a drink with a straw, sip from the drink, smile, eye, sip.
If flirting with a straw staring into his eyes doesn't work, take the Cavewoman approach you threatened to use.0 -
No lines needed, it's all about your body language.0

^Do guys actually like that? It just sounds like trying too hard :indifferent:0 -

A lot of times, they're just shy. Doesn't mean smiling doesn't work. Smiling and looking friendly is better than trying too hard to be pretty or flirty, IMO.0 -

Flirting is. . . communicating. Hence if one is not communicating, one is not flirting. Easy to say, right? Sure. Then again all are continually communicating (if I run a stop sign, I am communicating, "I am an idiot."). The difference is with flirting, one is to communicate intentionally and proactively.
However, a good opening line, to me, is "Mind if I sit here?"0 -
A smile is enough - if the guy doesn't react he's not interested or just too nervous.
Do you still want to go after him if he's that nervous?
If yes, then just go say hi. Tell him your name. Ask him something innocuous about the venue, etc.
Doesn't really matter. Just start talking.
Personally for me a conversation is a conversation.
I chat in an interview or appraisal much the same way I chat at a coffee shop or to our postman.
People are after all just people.
No need to mutate into something you are not.
Just my thoughts.
I like some of those other lines too!0 -
Step 1 - Cut a hole in a box
...
Seriously though:
Step 1 - Go out
Step 2 - Stop giving a **** what people think
Step 3 - Have fun
That's gotten me laid more than ANYTHING else, and I don't have the funbag advantage.0 -
I think it's all about confidence! You can have the best pick up line in the world but if you're stammering or fumbling over it then it loses it's appeal or you might get away with them feeling sorry for you and you two actually hitting it off lol. I've had a guy chat to me about what he did for a living and I was so absorbed in his confidence and mannerisms that I actually can't tell you a thing he said. He could have been telling me about how he artificially inseminated cows for all I know and I was grinning like an idiot
Also not seeming too desperate. A little chit chat whilst standing at the bar, a winning smile and a casual "maybe I'll see you at the bar again in half hour!" used to work for me. At least that's how I got my boy!0 -
I love how flirting automatically just jumps right to sex with so many people.
And there is something wrong with that ???
UMMMM I'M GONNA GO WITH.....NO
Without a doubt, everyone looks at it differently. For me, flirting is (I should say was, I do a whole lot less of it now that I'm battling my weight issues) more of a game. Not the "oh, that girl is a complete c**ktease" kind of game, but in the way that it was a slower, sweeter ride all the way out to the finish. ...I don't know, I guess I don't really know how to convey what is in my brain to text. I just think there's a lot more to it than just getting laid. If that's the goal then "Nice shoes, wanna f**k" conveys the message.0 -

That'd work too.
Okay, maybe not if she was holding a drink.0 -

Ah but what if she did whilst holding a drink and wearing a white shirt?! Bonus!0 -
People want what they can't have. Hoochy girls are a dime a dozen. Be friendly, confident, fun & a little mysterious... and never catty or jealous of other women! That shows insecurity. Good luck!0

I have been told (since I sometimes don't realise that I do flirt) that apparently I play with my hair subconsciously.
What has worked for me in the past, is complimenting a guy's shirt.
Kind of went like this:
Me: Hey, that's a great shirt! Who's responsible for you wearing that tonight?
Him: Me....I bought it. What's your name?
(I'm IN!) Hahahaha.
It has also not worked for me:
Me: Hey, great shirt! Who bought that for you?
Him: My girlfriend.
(OUCH!)0 -
LOLOLOLOLOL.
Really though, just start talking.0 -
As a woman I find just talking to a man shows interest, when you stop...either they pursue or not...a man knows what he wants and needs :blushing:0
