After reading this thread I've just ordered a road ID0

must . . get . . a . . road ID
On another note up until November I carried nothing with me- then I broke my ankle on a run at 5am, had to walk the 2.5 miles back home on an ankle that was actually broken in 2 seperate places (nonmedicated labor that lasted 60 hours and produced a 9lb little girl was MUCH better). Now I carry my phone . . . but am going to buy an ID right now thanks0 -
If anyone is planning on ordering from Road ID, use this code ARR6887

I checked out the RoadID Facebook page too - they are offering a Mother's Day deal, 10% off with this code: pcMomFB12

WWHHHHHYYYYY didn't I read this first!0 -
I set out this am for my "run" (2nd week of C25K - I'd hardly consider it a REAL run yet, lol) with just myself. DH was home so I left the foor unlocked. No keys, no phone (I have a triceratops that is un-appable, so I run with an iPod nano) and no ID. It struck me that if something were to happen to me, there would be no way to know who I was or alert my husband.
I pondered bracelets, drivers licenses, ICE cards, even tattoos, lol... what do YOU do?
Thanks for posting this and for all the responses about RoadID. Just ordered a bracelet for myself. I'm out on my Motorcycle a lot and have some long runs coming up. I also sent the link to my wife and sister-in-law who are going to Europe at the end of the month.0 -

I usually run with a hydration belt (longer runs) or arm band for my phone, so I usually bring my driver's license and my insurance card so, God forbid, I wouldn't get rejected from a hospital or something (you never know). I don't have any medical conditions -- but if I did I would get a road ID.
I never thought about including an emergency contact number, though, so I'm glad i read this thread!!0 -
Well I have asthma so I always put my inhaler in my bra I know may be gross but it fall's out of my pocket and I hate little pack things lol and I have my name and address taped on the front of the inhaler.0

I track all my runs on my iPhone, so there's my ID.0
-
Road ID - on my shoes (I run out of two pairs of shoes, so I have two of them)
Don't leave home without it!

This, I have the ankle version. I actually have 2 so when one is grimy I can put on the clean one and wash the dirty one.0 -

I typed the following on a little slip of paper:
My name is **********
I live at: ************
Next of Kin: *********** Mobile Phone: ********
Daughter: *********** Mobile Phone: ********
Then I laminated it and take this with me in a zipped pocked in my running bottoms.
I, like you OP, suddenly became alarmed during one run and thought to myself "hell, nobody would know who I was, or where I lived if I suddenly collapsed, my husband would be worried sick and have no clue what had happened" - that's when, as soon as I got back, I typed the above info and laminated the slip of paper so that I could use it every time I went out on a run and should it rain, the info would not get ruined because it had been laminated.0 -
I purchased a small runner's belt in the fitness department at WalMart. It holds my driver's license and cell phone and doesn't get in my way. My cell phone contains ICE numbers. At 60, I'm aware that I'm more likely to have an emergency than when I was younger.0

I have the wrist road ID and carry my cell phone.0

I never thought about it until this Post. Up to now, I never carried anything with my ID on it while out on a run.
After seeing this, I think I will get a runner ID just to be safe.0 -
iphone and keys - but im gonna look into this Road ID thing0

Road ID. period.
I recently had a friend get seriously injured while rock climbing. His ICE contact in his phone was useless, as the phone was dead. I then asked a friend that is an EMT, and she said in the two years on the job, she's NEVER used an ICE contact in a phone. Her G/F, who is a cop, has a few times, but not often. She said they look for wallets and bracelets to start.0 -

I usually have my driver's license and a key on me...if I'm running around my neighborhood, my front door key, and if I'm running at my favorite trails in the middle of the city, my car key. I wear shorts or leggings that have a pocket in them so I can fit those and that's about it!0

Road ID bracelet.0

None. Just an apartment key.0

huh. This is why MFP is awesome. It has literally never occurred to me to carry ID and I didn't know RoadID existed until I read this thread. Thanks guys!

I always have my phone with me, and recently started carrying my expired driver's license in whatever pouch or pack I'm wearing.0

Awesome thread!
What about keys? Any way to keep a house key on you without it feeling like an obnoxious burden and/or being totally obvious (i.e., a fanny pack)? I'd really like to start running, but can't fathom doing it without having my key and IDs.0
