You don't look fat to me....look at that woman/man now that's fat. And from my mother, "How much more weight do you plan on losing? because you're getting awfully thin and you don't look so good" Thanks mom way to be supportive.

Not nice, but at least he's supportive?:flowerforyou:

Here, let me tell you how to be healthy. I walk 1/4 mile a day, eat right, take my vitamins and I'm healthy as a horse.

(My MIL, when she comes home from work she opens up a giant bag of reeses/snickers/kit kats/candied peanuts/3 musketeers and eats the whole thing before she goes to sleep)

"You must be starving all the time" - Um, no... I eat a whole, whole lot. Not starving.

"I'd never be able to eat all those vegetables. That's gross" - Yep, to someone who treats their body like crap, it seems gross. It is not.

"I was sure that you only weighed like 180 lbs. and never really needed to diet" - BULL! I was over 300 lbs. You didn't think that or you are blind.

My favourite is when my size 00 friend says "you're not fat! You're curvy!"

No, I jiggle. I've overweight. It's not "curves" when you have to dig half your hand in to find muscle.

Don't get rid of your too big clothes, I'm sure you'll need them again (Thanks for the vote of confidence Mom)

Why bother, you'll gain it all back plus some. Dieting doesn't work. (It's called a lifestyle change actually)

Your grandma made all your favorites, her feelings are going to be hurt if you don't have some (Of each apparently... 3 kinds of pie, homemade donuts and chocolate cake)

I don't know what you're talking about, chicken is a diet food (not when it's deep fried chicken wings floating in honey garlic)

Wow, really? I donate my clothes as soon as they get too big so I stay motivated to make sure I don't need them ever again. :)

I love the last one. Chicken is wonderful for you, just not fried. You can fry anything and ruin its healthiness (fried green beans? What's the point?). XD

"Better be careful." I hate this line.. I mean, seriously... how can I be careless in losing fat when it comes to my health. It's offending to me because I did my research for eating healthy and exercise, and even planned it all out nicely! No excess of dieting or starving, and no excess or little exercises.

Last night my son pooped all over my maternity pants and I said "You know what, just throw them away, they don't fit me anymore anyway!"

Yeah, then my *kitten* would bloat back up to where it was before and I'd have to work it off again. No thanks! Lol.

"You are thin already, you don't need to diet."

"Come on, one brownie isn't going to hurt."

"Well, if you aren't eating it I'll feel guilty if I do."

"You've lost so much weight, what's your magically cure?" And then you tell them watching what goes in your pie hole and getting off your *kitten* and they look at you funny...

    1.Are you serious?
    2. So you cant eat good food anymore?
    3. Good Job, I guess but I am not going to starve myself just to be skinny.
    4. I'd rather just be fat and be comfortable with who I am instead of trying to change my self.
    5. It's going to take forever for you to loose that weight.
    6. you eat your diet food and I will eat my burger in your face until you give up.
  • Sounds like your 'friends' don't want things to change. Maybe you are heavier than they are so they feel OK. If you change and get healthier it redefines them! Good luck. Be healthy and fit!

From a lady at work: "Are you going into bodybuilding?" When she saw a copy of NROLFW on my desk.

No, ma'am I just want to lift weights instead of doing cardio.

And when I asked her about a seafood restaurant when I wanted some crawfish " you can eat crawfish on your diet???"

Um yes, sorry to break it to you but Alot of yummy foods are good for you!!
  • you are not fat.... you are "fit fat" because your bigger, but your active...
i have lost 25 lbs in the last year on my own.. (just joined here today)... and people keep saying odd things to me like "where did you go, there is nothing left of you" when i hear that i want to scream and cry out sure i was more visible because there was more to my body, but i was actually invisible because i was hiding behind it.

I'm not dieting. "Diet" is NOT a verb.

    di·et/ˈdī-it/
    Noun:
The kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.
A legislative assembly in certain countries.

OK, there's a definition of the word used as a verb, too, but I would suggest eliminated that usage from your vocabulary.

If you are following the MFP program the right way, you are not "dieting". You have made a positive lifestyle change, and it's permanent.

    (steps off the soapbox)

Why? Your not that big! After showing some progress "don't lose no more! You dont want to get too skinny. Background, started at 209 currently at 160.

I'm getting that a lot right now. I've lost 41lbs and countless inches since I've started losing weight and I feel and look much better....I want to lose at least 30 more to put me at an ideal weight(150lbs) but everyone is like.."don't lose anymore weight...you're already too skinny"..."ew...you're getting too skinny" like really people..c'mon
