What role does faith play?

My faith in God can not be separated from any part of my life & that includes my quest to be thinner & healthier! Without God I am nothing and He has also given me some faith that I can do this big thing in little steps!
Not sure just how folk cope without that?!?!?0 -
I guess you'd have to define 'faith'
Some ppl use the term to describe religion or religious beliefs.
Some people use the term as something similar to belief- as in 'I have belief/faith I can do it.'
My personal belief is that I get to do what I want with this one precious life- it's all on me... my choices, my consequences.
I believe I can shape my life in a better way than I have done, and so here I am!
So mote it be!
This closely describes my belief...I am in charge of my life...if I want something enough to put the work in...it's possible.0 -
Faith in yourself, of course it does.
Faith in a higher being, of course it does not. Higher Beings have bigger things to worry about.0 -
i'm extremely religious, but i wouldn't say faith played a big role in this. almost no role at all actually0

Eating right and working hard are elements of temperance [self-control]. These things tie directly to the faith (II Peter 1:3-11). We're supposed to take good care of our bodies (I Corinthians 6:20). At the same time, you cannot fitness to become an idol of sorts. There is a balance. Bodily exercise profits little (I timothy 4:8). Therefore, the Scriptures enable you to have the wisdom to balance body and spirit.

I worked out to Limp Bizkits cover of George Michael's "Faith" once.0

I have faith that I can do this. I have faith in myself and I am kicking a**.
If religion or god makes you feel better and is your inspiration that's great too. There is more than one way to get through this big world. Peace.0 -
None for me. More about being true to myself and the goals I set daily.0

An athiest has to have faith that there is no greater power. Therefore, atheists have faith. Honestly, I believe it takes more faith to not believe in God than to believe in God.0

Well I guess it would be nice, if I could touch your body...0

I am very surprised in the post you received. More negative than positive.
I have faith in everything I do and I pray daily.0 -
I'm an atheist.
So, faith in myself, I suppose. It isn't like a higher being guides to say "no" to the donuts. ;D0 -

I believe you are misunderstanding what an atheist is :flowerforyou:0 -

I think you're mixing up faith with courage.0 -

None really, although I am Pagan.0

Only if you feel that everyone not sharing the same religion as yourself is a negative thing. The rest of us do not feel that way.0 -
i only have faith in myself. i do not rely on faith in others or a faith in a central god. you can only know yourself. btw, im somewhere between an agnostic and a spiritualist. kind of...maybe...idk.0

It is the all of all... no matter what or who you are putting your faith in0

I have faith in myself that I'm strong enough to change things that I can in my daily life.
Otherwise, in terms of "religious" faith, I'm an atheist, and do not feel that any deity gives me power or strength, or insight.0 -
Faith has no role.0
-
None,
I'm a catholic. God didn't get me fat, so I'm going to be the one to get me fit.
He can have my used up ripped corpse when I'm done with it.0 -
You should read Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst. Awesome book! We just finished a bible study group on this.
I just did the same...this book & Bible study made an amazing difference in my life. I must say my workouts & healthy eating were amplified so much by spending time in His word & sharing with my christian girlfriends. Highly recommended!!0 -
Faith helped this guy.0 -
The faith in myself that I will overcome my limits plays a large role.0

I believe in what the Bible says, and it says that in Him (God) we live and move and have our being; that every breath we breathe is given by God, so without Him or apart from Him I can do nothing. The Bible also tells me to cast all my cares on God because He cares for me. I care about health and fitness, so I know God will give me the strength I need.0

If you can see it, you can be it. Believe and you will succeed.0

It plays a big part for me. I am a Christian and very far from a perfect one, but I know that He accepts me the way that I am.
We have free will to believe or not to believe.
I can't understand why so much bashing from non believers towards believers?0 -

I know not everybody
Has got a body like you"0
