I ran my first one a year and a half ago in 27:06 in 20 degree weather.

I trained about NONE for that though and now actually often do that on my daily runs now. I'm hoping to go around 24 for my next one

39:29 I just started running about 4 weeks ago, and I am still almost 100 lbs overweight. I have a 5k to run in a couple of weeks, I would really love to have my time down to 35 mins, but I'll be happy if I finish under 40 mins.

I would aim for under 30 minutes if you have been training. My first 5k(2010) was 24.53. My PR (3/2012) was 17:43 ( very lucky here, but I will take it)

I ran a 5k when my daughter was 10 weeks old. It gave me a goal to work towards. My time was 29:48; best overall, years earlier was 26:40. Good luck!

    Best 5k is 38 minutes.

I'm an extremely SLOW runner: 47 minutes.
Seems like so freaking slow, but that is better than my last at 55.

ROCK ON SISTER!!! MY TIME YESTERDAY WAS 43:59!!! IT WAS 93 DEGREES OUT!!!

    I hate you all.

My first was 46:15. I ran all but 8 minutes of it. I hope to run the entire thing next time in under 40 minutes.

I just ran my first one ever on May 19...finished in 32:24, and I was happy because I FINISHED! Just enjoy the experience. You can always improve on your speed, but you only get one FIRST TIME! :-)

I haven't run a stand alone 5k in a long time but my last sprint tri run leg(5k) was 24 minutes even.

I just did my first one 2 weeks ago, I'll let you know when I finish... kidding, but I'm slow - I walked some and ran some. I ended up at 41.32

I participated in the Forget Me Not 5K to support Alzheimer Research for my mother in law. I jogged some and walked some. I did it in 44 minutes. I wasn't last. I know that's not very fast but I was proud to participate and after knee surgery.

I'm on week four of Couch to 5k, and I'm only running about a mile and a half in thirty minutes. I think I just drink too much beer to get any faster. But that's okay, because I'd much rather drink beer than have a fast time.
