I'm an extremely SLOW runner: 47 minutes.
Seems like so freaking slow, but that is better than my last at 55.

I hate you all.
My first was 46:15. I ran all but 8 minutes of it. I hope to run the entire thing next time in under 40 minutes.0 -
I just ran my first one ever on May 19...finished in 32:24, and I was happy because I FINISHED! Just enjoy the experience. You can always improve on your speed, but you only get one FIRST TIME! :-)0

I haven't run a stand alone 5k in a long time but my last sprint tri run leg(5k) was 24 minutes even.0

I just did my first one 2 weeks ago, I'll let you know when I finish... kidding, but I'm slow - I walked some and ran some. I ended up at 41.320

I participated in the Forget Me Not 5K to support Alzheimer Research for my mother in law. I jogged some and walked some. I did it in 44 minutes. I wasn't last. I know that's not very fast but I was proud to participate and after knee surgery.0

20:10 back at the beginning of March.0

I'm on week four of Couch to 5k, and I'm only running about a mile and a half in thirty minutes. I think I just drink too much beer to get any faster. But that's okay, because I'd much rather drink beer than have a fast time.

First 5K was in May 2011. My time was 01:04:43. I ran my second 5K in October and my time was 58:04. I ran a third 5K on May 4th, 2012 and my time was 51:03 (that was with a combination of walking and running). Going to run another one in October, and I am hoping to run the whole thing. My goal is to finish in 45:00 or less.0

My most recent 5k was last weekend: 35:58
I ran my first 5k about 3 years ago. That was my first venture into running and I had a time of 42 minutes. It was hard, my heart was pounding I walked a bit but I pushed through and did it.
I ran my 2nd 5k a year later and was at just over 40 minutes.
.
My first 5k of this year (I just had a baby 8 months ago) and I was able to take nearly 5 full minutes off my first time. I comfortably ran without stopping to walk this time. My perswonal goal is to run it in less than 30.
Good Luck!0 -
I'm slow. After running for a year and a half my best 5k has been 36 minutes and change.0
-
22:59 and placed 3rd in my age group!! Although all the really awesome runners were doing the 1/2 marathon going on a the same time, lol. (Officially, my best 5k time is 22:40 but I don't count that one since the course was .2 miles short! lol)
It really depends on where you're at in your training.0 -
Ran my first Easter Sunday 29:27!!0
-
I've only ever run 1 5k and I came in at 27:170

Fastest was 34:58...it was an Inaugural Race (smaller field, about 85 runners) and of the 12 runners in my age division I placed 1st! Damn Proud of it!!!0

-
My first 5K in Sept 2009 was just under 40 minutes, a year later i ran the same race in 26:46 since them I've discovered the joys of longer distances (I'm the last person anyone would have expected to get into running) and did my 3rd half marathon last Sunday.
For your first 5K your only goal should be crossing the finish line with a smile on your face. Have fun!0
