First 5K was in May 2011. My time was 01:04:43. I ran my second 5K in October and my time was 58:04. I ran a third 5K on May 4th, 2012 and my time was 51:03 (that was with a combination of walking and running). Going to run another one in October, and I am hoping to run the whole thing. My goal is to finish in 45:00 or less.

Don't know about running but I'm walking a marathon distance in the Edinburgh Moonwalk on 9th June. Good luck to you. Good luck to me. I'll be thinking of you.

My most recent 5k was last weekend: 35:58

I ran my first 5k about 3 years ago. That was my first venture into running and I had a time of 42 minutes. It was hard, my heart was pounding I walked a bit but I pushed through and did it.
I ran my 2nd 5k a year later and was at just over 40 minutes.

    .
My first 5k of this year (I just had a baby 8 months ago) and I was able to take nearly 5 full minutes off my first time. I comfortably ran without stopping to walk this time. My perswonal goal is to run it in less than 30.

    Good Luck!

22:59 and placed 3rd in my age group!! Although all the really awesome runners were doing the 1/2 marathon going on a the same time, lol. (Officially, my best 5k time is 22:40 but I don't count that one since the course was .2 miles short! lol)

It really depends on where you're at in your training.

My first 5K in Sept 2009 was just under 40 minutes, a year later i ran the same race in 26:46 since them I've discovered the joys of longer distances (I'm the last person anyone would have expected to get into running) and did my 3rd half marathon last Sunday.

For your first 5K your only goal should be crossing the finish line with a smile on your face. Have fun!
