What's your favorite salad?

I made this salad the other day it was delicious.
1 small cucumber
6 roma tomatos (I used 4 but I'm not a big fan of tomatoes)
1/4 cup fresh basil diced
3 green onions (I used 1 whole onion)
2 tablespoons basalmic vinegar
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (I only used 1, or thought it would be too oily)
3 tablespoons of feta cheese (I left this off and sprinkled on top when I was ready to eat it)0 -

Antipasto-style salad
3 c romaine
Cucumber (I usually use about 3-4 inches worth)
1 med tomato (vine ripened)
1 stuffed hot cherry pepper Chopped (I rinse the oil off). I like the one stuffed with prosciutto and provolone
5-8 marinated mushrooms chopped
3 quartered artichoke hearts (not the ones in oil)
1/2 c cannellini beans
2 tbsp balsamic vinaigrette
Chicken-orange
3 cups mesclun or spring mix
4 oz grilled chicken
1/4 c sliced hearts of palm
1/4 cup orange segments
Dressing 1tsp olive oil 2tsp lemon juice
3 cups baby spinach
1/2 cup broccoli slaw
4 sliced mushrooms
1/2 c chopped zucchini
1/2 c chick peas
2 tbsp balsamic vinaigrette
Mexican salad
3 c mixed greens
1 cooked boca burger chopped
1/4 c black bean & corn salsa
1/4 sliced avocado
1/2 c chopped cucumber
Handful of grape tomatoes
As the World Turns Salad (so named because I remember eating this with my mom out of a metal mixing bowl while watching the soap when I was about 4)
Lettuce (back in the early 70s it was iceberg)
Tomatoes--however many you felt like
Cucumber
Shredded carrot--maybe 1/4 c
1 can drained chunk light tuna in water
2 tbsp thousand island dressing0 -
My favorite salad... Watergate Salad
1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple in juice, undrained
1 pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Pistachio Flavor Instant Pudding
1 cup JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
1/2 cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans
1-1/2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
This is as close to a salad as I can come. I don't like the taste or texture of salad (think it stems from uncooked veggies, which are nasty to me). Strange I know... Veggies I love cooked I cannot eat raw.
Besides, if I ate salads what would the bunnies of the world eat? I couldn't let an innocent lil' rabbit starve0 -
I'm so excited to see this thread, I have two go to salad recipes and I want to have more and I can't wait to change it up with some on here.

I love homemade taco salad:
6 leaves fresh clean romaine lettuce torn into bite size bits
Top with 1/2 cup black beans, 1/2 cup ground beef seasoned (or ground chicken), 1/4 cup diced tomatoes, 1/4 cup mexican cheese, garnish with fresh cilantro and 1 serving of tortilla chips.0 -
Couscous
Roasted pumpkin
Chickpeas
Red onion
Toasted pinenuts
Flat leaf parsley
Olive oil
Lemon juice
Also, aged Balsamic Vinegar (25 years) will make even the most boring green salad taste amazing. It's for drizzling not drenching though. Depending on the brand you can find yourself paying through the nose for it.0 -
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing!0
