    For exercise:
"OMG just stop wasting time whining and do it!"

    For food:
"Do you really think splurging again so soon is going to keep you healthy??"

re: food - I tell myself "you can't eat like every day is Christmas"....."don't celebrate with food"......"don't cope with food"....."PUT THE COOKIE DOWN"....."every meal counts"....."STOP NIBBLING"

re:excercise: "you've run this before, you can get through it"...when I hit 3 miles/30 minutes "you're in deficit mode now..keep going"

Fun thread, btw - I've enjoyed seeing everyone's mantra!

I know I posted once with a song I use, but this popped up in my head and I had to share:

I tend to play devil's advocate against myself, so I get myself pumped with something like this.

Insult: "You're the newbie in this gym. You're a desk-jockey computer nerd. You're fat. You belong on the treadmill, not lifting with the meatheads."

Response: "NO. You are a FREAK of nature. You are a TITAN. You throw TREES. You're not technique, or skill, or lean muscle. You are raw POWER. You are here to bring that power to its fullest potential."

And in the middle of the workout, here's what I'm gonna try to pump myself up for the big lifts:

    "Are you the biggest? SHO'NUFF!"
    "Are you the meanest? SHO'NUFF!"
    "Are you the ugliest? SHO'NUFF!"
"Now go use some UGLY STRENGTH!"

"Ugly Strength" is my mantra when I throw - I don't throw pretty, I don't throw easy. I throw big and UGLY.

    I have 2 favorites.

If I am being tempted by food (which is all the time) "nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels!"

And as I am working out it's "Quit crying like a b*tch" its also my most motivating song on my playlist..

I don't have mantras as such. I try and visualise myself at certain events in 2, 6, 12 months time and think about how I want to look and what I want to wear.
