COFFEE LOVERS - Anyone given it up?

I could never give it up. I cut back to 1 cup per day and completely cut out the cream and sugar. Only use 1% milk now.0
-
nope, not at all, I just don't use the creamers as much, but I still have my pot or two on the weekends, and normal amount during the week, I choose to "spend" my cals on that, doesn't work out to be too much0

I could never give up coffee. I drink 6-7 cups a day with no sugar and semi skimmed milk. All these are logged properly, but without coffee I would be a divorcee whose children have abandoned her. I tried to give up coffee once and my husbad described me as a rotweiller on heat - I'd rather stay normal (ish)0

I have an espresso, some to most mornings, and i've found that adding hazelnut milk gives it a great flavour and cuts out regular milk calories and fat.0
-
LOVE my coffee, but I seem to be losing my taste for it. I don't know if it is for the fact that I'm eating breakfast regularly or if it is the combo of that and the vitamin supplements.0

During the week I usually only have one cup of coffee and a cup of hot tea at work.. :drinker: I drink alot of water during the day as well..0

I am not giving up my coffee until the doctor says it's life-threatening. For me, coffee is more important than chocolate.
I did, however, change to black unsweetened coffee. Just good quality strong black hot coffee.
Besides, without any sugar or milk/cream in it, a cup of coffee is only 5 kcal, why would I ever cut that minuscule amount out? it's not going to matter at all to my calorie goal and it keeps me happy like nothing else on the planet.0 -
I've tried to give it up many times... Its such a challenge. To try to get through the headaches and lack of energy. I'm trying to get into shape so that I will have extra energy. I've always been busy and relied on Coffee. Usually working at least two jobs. I'm proud to say I'm now down to 2 cups a day!0

"Turkish people claimed coffee to be an aphrodisiac and husbands kept their wives well supplied. If the husband refused, it was a legitimate cause for a wife to divorce!"
Not after reading this!!!!
Coffee is a great kick start in the morning for me. The health food store near me carries this http://teeccino.com/ i use it when i want to have something warm at night. It has almost the same flavour as coffee, and is great for those with acid reflux.0 -
I WILL NOT give up my coffee! lol I already gave up almost everything that is bad before me, that is one thing if I dont get, I become a cranky cranky person.0
-
I miss coffee! Had to give it up because I have IBS. I replaced coffee with green tea. It's much healthier and gives energy for longer. I drink about 3 cups a day. Result: much less stomach pain, no more coffee breath it took me a while to get used to it. But I can't have black tea or milk either.0

I have one cup of coffee a day. The rest of the time I drink water or tea.0

-
Are you KIDDING????? People could DIE if I didn't have my super-size double shot skinny cappuccino on the way to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
-
I gave it up.
The benefits? My teeth are much much whiter than they were, and it's less sugar for me.
I replaced my coffee with Lipton Island Mango & Peach White Tea-Pyramid Tea Bags. Every week I try to try a different tea, but this one has been my favorite.0 -
I am wondering why you would want to. Coffee has very little calories, 2 per cup max. It provides health benefits. Use real sugar (much better than artificial stuff) if you need to, it only has 16 calories per serving. All the pick-me up and a little sweet for max 18 calories!0
-
Drinking a cup right now.... I can't give that up.0
-
I won't be giving it up. I see more and more reports that it's good for you.0
-
I agree, but I have found a lot of recipesfor making them at home!!!!0
-
I just switched to Truvia v. Sugar and Silk Light v. 2% Milk. Coffee is the only part of my morning I enjoy.0
-
Absolutely not! I have my daily protein coffees - basically, iced flavored coffee of my choice (chocolate, hazelnut, strawberry, caramel...) with a scoop of my chocolate whey protein powder. And I usually have another cup at one point throughout the day. I love my flavored coffee and won't give it up unless the caffeine gives me heart palpitations like it did my husband.0

I really needed to give it up. I was addicted for YEARS! It was wreaking havoc on my energy levels and my hormones. I was never able to give it up though until some other things in my life fell into place. Proper hormone treatment combined with eating a lot of food (small defecit for weight loss purposes) has given me energy that I was previously dependent on my cup of joe to give me. Now I drink water process decaf most mornings. Some mornings I have a bit of tea instead.0

It would be foolish of me to even think of this! It is one of the staples for professionals which I got accidentally right! I anyway take black without sugar and milk!0

I loved coffee but noticed I was sometimes grouchy drinking it, like I needed several cups to wake up properly. Nursing cups of coffee in the morning was part of my routine. I now wake up very quickly without it so it was all in my head. It dehydrated me so now I feel healthier for not drinking it. I'll have an occasional cup of tea (no sugar/sweetener, skimmed milk) but mostly drink water.0

I have two cups a day, purely because I am an overwhelmed student nurse :laugh:0
-
Just get the coffee itself flavored. They are sugar free! I have a keurig, and it totally = LOVE! I have favors, yet my husband has his extra bold!
Back on topic... Who in the world could give up coffee all together? I don't think it will ever happen for me, but this is an interesting read... I am curious to know!0 -
um, hell no . I have stopped using the chemical sweetened flavored creamer crap that I love and replaced it with coconut milk, which I love more, especially in an iced coffee. but I have no plans of giving up the coffee.0
-
decaf is just as good as normal coffee.. and with no caffeine i drink twining green tea with fruit and ginseng as a replacement for some cups of coffee too.. lush0

I have two cups a day, purely because I am an overwhelmed student nurse
Haha! Cute... But guess what... Once you graduate, you will then be the overwhelmed registered nurse... You're gonna want THREE cups a day!!! Hahaha!!! I'm teasing.... We do need our coffe, but it's the best job in the world! I cannot imagine doing anything else! Good luck to you!0 -
I've cut back or given up on a lot of things. However, I decided one vice would stay and for me that is coffee. Admittedly, I have reduced my intake significantly for other reasons (blood pressure) and I refuse to drink decaf. One little vice can't be all that bad. Keeps me sane.0
