This is a great posting! I am 59 years old and finally after 30 years seeing the weight go down consistently
I am 5ft 2inches tall and weigh just less than 250lbs (111.5kg)
I have lost 16kg since September 2011 and have just stated believing that my weight in my late teens and early 20s may be achieveable again - at my lowest I was 114lbs or 8 stone 2lbs.
I would be happy to get down to 75kg but still think m-a-y-b-e I could get lower if my weightloss stays consistent.
Thank goodness for MFP, Endomondo Sports Tracker and my Fitbit!0 -
I started at roughly 233lbs and a size 18. Now I'm at 189lbs and between a 10/12. I've followed Jamie Eason's LiveFit program and running with modifying the diet to fit what I was able to do (aiming to be between 1200-1500 calories and cutting out processed foods, dairy, and unhealthy carbs)

I started at a tight size 12 and am an 8 today. Starting weight at 162 and am now 146. I have about 15 pounds to go. I am 5'3" and a half. I count all of my calories and make sure I eat above BMR but below TDEE, and I do not eat all of my exercise calories back (about half). I burn at minimum 514 calories per day, but often times more. I mix up my exercising with running, biking, walking, strength training, stairmaster, workout DVD's, tennis, and anything else I feel like doing that day.
**I can't figure out how to upload pics on to this thread from my computer. Sorry.0 -
Congratulations! Keep it up baby!0

I just saw Im suppose to tell what I did to lose weight~ 17 Day Diet (AWESOME BOOK!) and C25K treadmill version. I think everyone just has to find what works for them. Good luck and it's been awesome looking at these pics!0

I was 191 lbs at 5'7" and a size 12 (US). I started losing the weight in the end of January 2012 when I joined the Biggest Loser Challenge at the gym on base. Before I joined MFP in mid-March, I lost around 10 1/2 lbs and I have lost almost 30 lbs since then. I am a 6, sometimes an 8, at 152 lbs now. I do exercise, but most importantly I keep count of calories, carbs, protein, etc. I don't deprive myself of anything that I want, I just have to make sure it fits in the macros.
ps How did y'all add the photos? I have before/afters and can't get them to add for the life of me.0 -
Bumping for more inspiration later. I'm just starting and you guys are all so inspiring.0

This is me as a size 12 at 169lbs in the first picture, and 7 months later as a size 6/8 at 152lbs (April 2012). I've since regained 3lbs because I started lifting heavy weights, but the fit of my clothes has actually improved. I'm 5.6, and I've never consumed below 1400 calories, always eaten back my exercise calories. I'm currently maintaining at 1700 net calories. I try to hit my macros every day: proteins 30%, carbs 35%, fat 35%, and watch sugar and sodium intake.

Awesome. Can I ask how much you have lost now that you are wearing an 8?
Before I had my son 3 years ago I had lost 75lbs and went from an 18/20 to a 6 petite. I too am 5'2, when I was wearing the 6 petite I weighed 139-142. I currently weigh 160 and am wearing a 12.
We have similar stats so I am curious!
Thanks

How did you do it leela?0

All you ladies look amazing and so inspiring! I started in a tight 14 and so far I'm down to a 10 at 5'7". A lot of the weight I have to lose is in my mid section (stomach, thighs, hips) so I might have to reconsider my goal of being a size 8 (I figured 145-150 would get me there) and go more for the 6.0

I'm 5'7 and started at a comfortable size 14. I'd be VERY happy at a size 8.0

My profile pic - Size 20 down to a size 8 in 11 months and 77 lbs lost. I actually weigh 5 lbs less now!0

@Nicki190, your post makes me feel so much better. I am in week 4 of insanity and only lost about 2lbs so far. You didnt lose too much but you look fantastic! Thanks for posting! Would you mind sharing how many inches you lost?
Sadly I didn't measure the first time around but I'm on my second round now and I made sure to measure and will be taking measurements every time I do the fit test!0 -
Evening all! My profile pics shows my evolution from 2008 through now. Most recently (since Jan) I have lost 16lbs...started just walking my dogs for a mile-then 2, added 30 Day shred (bored me!), then moved on to Wii Zumba and JMichael's Ripped in 30, and have been running between 2/3 miles for 2 months now (trying 6 days a week depending on heat/weather).
If I can be of support or provide advice please feel free to friend me!0 -
I started off at a 12/14ish (didn't really buy new clothes at that point) and I'm almost into a 6 now. I have some semi current progress pics on my profile, it's private but if you send me a friend request I'll add you0

What kind of exercise did you do? I have a sprained ankle right now so I'm pretty limited. But we are pretty much the same height and weight. I would LOVE to fit in a size six again haha I lost 13 lbs a while back but had surgery and now a sprained ankle so I kind of fell off and of course gained it ALL back.0

bump - You all look amazing. What a difference weight makes in our lives. This has helped me to reboot my enthusiam, and get back on track. I was getting frustrated, and feeling hopeless, but if you can do it, so can I. Thank you all for your support and your pictures. This helps a lot!!!0

Wow! We are the same height with the same starting weight. I'm not quite where you are yet (I'm a size 8 at the moment) but your body shape is super similar to mine. Can't wait to get to size six, you look amazing!
Thank you!! It's always nice to meet people with similar body types - I've always had an athletic shape, so I'm told I weigh more than I look like I do. Feel free to add me!0 -
You look amazing !! what kind of weight loss program were you on ?? what kind of exercise do you do ?
Not sure if this was to me? If so, I did 1200 calories/day and ate back about half of my exercise calories. No real program, but I tried to stay away from sodium and completely cut out fast food and pop. I still allow myself dessert when I want it and have calories for it (usually frozen yogurt, skinny cow, or weight watchers ice cream) and still eat out with my husband on our date nights - I just make sure I got in a great workout so I have the extra calories. I mentioned in my post that I like to switch up my exercise, so I run, do the elliptical, do workout videos (30 Day Shred, P90X, Brazil Butt Lift, Insanity, etc.), Zumba 2-3 times a week, and play tennis with my husband. I didn't follow an exercise program because I get bored too quickly. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi, you look amazing. What you're doing sounds similar to me
As I'm eating 1200, trying to eat back my exercise calories .
I am doing Body Revolution (1/2 way thru) and I usually do another form of exercise (basically cardio) 5-7 times a week.
On weekends, I allow myself to loosen up and I go out to a restaurant and get that pasta and glass of wine if I want it, maybe some frozen yogurt afterwards. I make sure I had a good cardio session before. And though I'm still in my allowed calories. It is hard to know the true calories when you go out to eat.
So I had a question for you, you mention you go out to eat w/ your husband, after a good workout and you have the calories.. -- did you do this on a weekly basis? Or was it less often?
My weight is trickling off (about 2-3 lbs in the last 3-4 weeks) and not sure if I'm greatly underestimating these meals/doing it too often. I'm seeing inches coming off thru the torso though, so I'm keeping positive & motivated :-)
Oh, and I also started in a tight 12.
Thanks
Hi! Yes, I usually ate out at least once/week - That's my husband's and my quality alone time together. My major things were avoiding sodium and other bloat causing foods, and if I did eat them (especially things like tortilla chips and pasta) I'd up my water intake even more (I usually drink 10-13 glasses/day) to try and flush it out. I was also really concious of what I ate the rest of the week, so I had even more extra calories built up - not just the ones from exercise (usually 600 or so from a good Saturday morning Zumba class) that day. Hope that helps! Feel free to message me if you have more questions!0 -
How long did it take you to do this?
It is very encouraging.
I have 30 pounds or so to go.
I have struggled to get under 160. My goal wt. is 134
thanks,
Victoria0
