I AM FAT BECAUSE.......

...my calories increased, but my exercise decreased. I became comfortable and convinced myslef I was happy despite the weight gain. At 170 lbs I wanted to lose weight, but I only lost 5 pounds and then the weight kept creeping up. Now, at 4 months post-partum, I am at my heaviest weight...170 lbs would be a milestone in my weight loss journey.0

Eating too much, moving too little.
I have a sedentary job that bores me to snacks.
I have bites while I cook meals and while I put left-overs away.
I'm trying to break these bad habits.0 -
I have a strong emotional attachment to food. It started as a child when I was abused, and has carried over into my adult life. Combine that with inactivity, and that is why I am fat.0
-
Because being pregnant cured my irritable bowel disease so I splurdged during all my pregnancy gaining 50 pounds and not losing any.0

I'm trying to get through binge eating disorder.0

although I eat very healthily, I have a major problem with portion control, not to mention a weakness for wine!
My soul sister!0 -
After a baby, many many stresses from normal everyday stresses, to the stress of courts and being a young single mother, I gave up on myself and stopped caring for awhile. Then started the "I can't" and "It'll never happen".0

...I'm sabotaging my efforts to lose weight. I've lost at least 10 pounds in the last 6 months or so - only it's the same two pounds over and over again. Apparently I'm more comfortable being insecure and a little overweight than I would be if I were to succeed.
Since this makes no sense even to me I'm going to keep at it and this time it's going to work.0 -
because I had 6 kids and stayed at home to raise them on a VERY comfy couch0

For me I think it was the fact that when I lived with my parents they controlled everything we did. Including what we all ate. We didn't have cable TV growing up, and we didn't get fruit roll-ups and little cupcakes in our lunch's like the other kids. So growing up we were all very fit and thin kids. But then when I moved out I discovered a world of junk food we could never have! Also that and my now husband took me out to dinner like every night when we were dating because that's what he thought he was supposed to do. That and he couldn't cook!
But now I ask for healthy recipes from my dad to make for my husband and I. It was only a matter of time that I ended up going back to my well at least my dad's way of eating-parents are divorced now.
I've lost the weight because I've tried to cut out most of the junk (yes-most, my husband is a sugar FIEND!). But now that I am getting older and realized how heavy I had gotten so QUICKLY! That eating healthy is so important.0 -
cuz i'd eat whatever i wanted when i was youger and never got fat..and i thought i could do that forever until i had my son 3 yrs ago and i no longer have t he metabolism i used to (duh)..and i have a twin sister that is about 25 lbs lighter than me...so life is GREAT!! (insert sarcasum voice)..im working on it tho..just a lot of pressure0

I ate the same food and drank the same amount of alchohol as my ex husband...who was twice my size
I went from being very active to absolutely doing nothing at all
I had three pregnancies and didn't lose the weight after0 -

3.I SAY IMMA WORK OUT AND I DO NOT
4.I PROCRASTINATE WAY TO MUCH
5.STRESS0 -
I quit smoking and had to do something with my hands...so food was the easy choice
I was not educated enough to understand the calories in calories out concept
And when I initially learned about calories in calories out concept was too lazy to track it properly0 -
I do not eat the "right" food.
I don't exercise enough
I don't get enough sleep
I am overstressed0 -
In order of greatest to least:
I eat too much food
I drink too much booze
I don't exercise enough
I don't get enough sleep
I am overstressed
Simple as that.
Couldn't have said it better myself0 -
1) I eat too much junk
2) I have PCOS
3) I exercise well only during the summer. (When I can swim)
4) I dont sleep enough.0 -
Because I was not taught how to eat properly growing up. It didn't matter then (or so I thought) because I had no weight or health issues. I didn't start gaining weight until I hit my late twenties. I'm living proof of the basics of weight gain. I ate more and quit moving. So my fancy new diet goes like this. Eat less and move more. I know, who knew, right? LOL I've been doing well at the "eating less" part, but need to get on the "moving more" portion of my program!0

I'm fat cause....
Oreos, Fritos, and pie all taste like heaven!
I would marry food.
Exercise is boooooring. Unless it's roller skating.0 -
I've never been fat and I have always been fairly active but I had an ice cream addiction along with a Doritos with melted cheese addiction. Plus anytime I went out to eat I was always a "eat what is on your plate" type person.
Now I do not touch ice cream or Doritos and I don't put as much on my plate because I know once it is on there I will eat it.0 -
I am fat because I have never valued myself. Now, I am a work inprogress.0

I dunno, well I know but I dunno why I let it happen. I ate and drank too much bad stuff. But what gets me is that I never had the sense (not sure if thats the right word) to notice the warning signs. Buying larger clothes etc.. should have been enough to tell me to do something about it but I let it continue and continue, bigger sizes bigger sizes bigger sizes I just kept buying them and buying them.
I don't know why I didn't do something about it years ago, of course I wish had but at least I'm (we all are!) doing something about it now.
I was watching a video of my wedding yesterday, and noted how big and pointy my nose looked when I was thin.
I have lost 10kgs so far though, my 18 month old daughter weighs 11kg and the amount I am trying to lose is the weight of my 9 year old girl!0 -
because of poor choices......
end of story. LOL0 -
I couldn't tell you what originally caused it. I assume just poor eating habits. I have been heavy since I was a child. Didn't seem to matter what I ate or how often I ate/did physical activity. I was just the heavy person. I never got bigger, but never smaller either. I started noticing weight gain after my second child. I picked up bad eating habits from my husband like drinking soda regularly, eating similar portions as him (He was in the Army, had a huge appetite, and I just made our plates the same.)
So yeah....poor eating habits, pregnancy, and some unknown (to me) cause from before I can remember.0 -
I'm not fat by any stretch of the imagination, but I weigh more than I want to/used to because I just had a baby, and my husband likes to cook really really delicious food that I had a hard time resisting.0
