Wow! You are all doing great! I am finally home from my trip. San Diego weather would have been perfect for my rides (think 75 degrees) but I didn't have my bike. Now that I am home, I'm dealing with triple digit temps. How do you handle hot rides? I am having a really hard time talking myself onto my biked in this heat.0

Sunday 8/5- 17.5 miles (15.1 avg. mph- my best avg. speed yet
Monday 8/6- 8 miles (got a late start and it was getting dark)
8/7- rest day
8/8- storming here.... We desperately need the rain, but it means I have to resort to getting my cardio on our elliptical. Boo!
8/9- 14 miles (14.6 mph avg)

Ok, I may be late, but am jumping in on this. I've wanted to get back on my bike, but have lacked the motivation. Here's hoping a little bit of accountability will help me get out there.0

bought a nice road bike 6 weeks ago, i'm at 1158 km so far (719,5 miles) . I just fell in love with riding the bike. Longest outing was 100Km (62 miles) . 54,7 hours total time on the bike, average of 13mph for a grand total of 36,601 calories burned :-) and with top of the line riding gears and a good saddle the butt will not be a problem. i've lost 51 lbs in 27 weeks, never felt better in my life.0

I just joined MFP yesterday and was lucky enough to find this challenge today. I only have time to ride about twice a week but I'll set a goal at 150 miles for the rest of this month. Wish me luck.0

Might've been just a bit wee too ambitious for my goal...I don't have enough hours in my day to hit the road for 20 mi. each day. Hmmm, we'll see how the month shakes out, I'll revise if need be for next month! This whole MFP is new to me, I've never tracked calories before. I do like the idea of challenges though...having that goal in front of you definitely gives you something to focus on for the long haul.

I was going to be close to 200 miles (my goal is 400) after today, but noticed my rear tire is worn to the threads in a couple of places. Thankfully I noticed it before I left so I wasn't stranded 25+ miles from home, but it will be at least a week before I can get new tires (front is worn too). So I am losing a week of riding. :sad:0

Just found this thread -- I'm in! I've been cycling for a while, but fell out of it when it got so hot. I'm going to shoot for 40 miles per week (not including long rides on weekends).
