How many calories do you eat a day?

3200 or so, sometimes more sometimes less.0

I'm still trying to figure out what works best for maintenance.
My TDEE is 1600
I'm shooting for 1550 a day. which gives about 300 calories to play with on a splurge day.0 -
I started out at 1200 but felt hungry and sluggish. After reading some forums I bumped it up to 1450 (my BMR is 1496) but now I'm not losing. I don't eat back exercise calories. Thinking of dropping back down to 1200
You may want to eat back your exercise calories. You should never net below your BMR. This is probably why you are not loosing.0 -
I very rarely go over 1200 and usually I am under!!

I read so many different things on eating vs not eating back exercise calories. Im fairly new to this site, but I feel like that's counterproductive? Some days it's difficult for me to even hit 1450, but I'll try that and see if it helps. Thanks for the advice!0 -
Going to see how long I can go on this 650 cal a day diet.. taking lots of vitamins and losing a pound a day. Bumping it up to 1200 when I feel ready.0

3200-3400 a day......0

1700, with the idea that over the course of the week, I burn an average of 200 per day through exercising 4-5x a week. I'm generally not hungry at the end of the day.0
-
Today I am eating 2800. Maybe more. And I am still under total calorie burn for the day.0

It's good advice. I've been stalled for over 3mos post surgery. I was eating 2200-2400cal or so, as a 5'7" tall male, 37yrs old, 190lbs. I was stuck between 188 and 192lbs...invariably. I lift 3x a week, and have a very active job.
When I upped my calories to 3000 average a week and a half ago...the weight started melting off again.0 -
Between 1200 and 1500 on most days. Derby practice burns a crapton of calories so I'm usually under 1200 twice a week.0
-
1875, regardless of exercise.0
-
typically around 1950 no matter what day of the week.
cut back some exercise too lately as far as cardio && trying to watch my sugar more
(minus fruits since you cannot help that)0 -
I am at 1200.
I might change my plan to only lose 1lb instead of 2lb since I am starving lately!
What are you guys at?
Does you activity level include exercise you're doing? If no, MFP is set up for you to log the exercise and eat those calories back. MFP will not give a calorie goal below 1200, but the Net Calorie goal already has the calorie deficit necessary for weight loss built into it. If you're exercising a lot and only consuming 1200, this is a reason you're hungry.
As a 6'2" guy currently at 225 lbs, I have my net calorie goal set at 2300, which includes a 500 cal a day deficit to lose 1 lb a week. I consume around 3000 calories a day on average, after eating at least some of my exercise calories every day.0 -
I'm set at 1,200 losing 2 lbs a week. If I eat over by 100, I don't care haha. I went over by 35 calories today by eating Kale chips. I'm I concerned? Not really haha.0
-
Been averaging about 1450(set at 1200) which means that since I exercise, I'm eating about half my exercise calories back. But I'm older, and also on the small side at just under 5'5" and 118 pounds with only wanting to lose a few.0

15000

17500

about 800 or so and I don't eat back my exercise calories and I stay pretty full.0
-
You should change. I did.. I went from 1400 to almost 1600.Just going to work out everyday.0
-
Right now between 1200-1500. It'll go up when we're not sharing weather with Hell.0
-
2100 is my current goal. In a few weeks, I'll change it to 2500 on weight training days, 2100 on remaining days.0
-
I have my calories set at 1769 but I generally end up eating 2000-2200 a day when I exercise which most times it is everyday.0
-
1200 calories and I seem to be functioning fine!0
-
About 13000

2500-3000 currently, 5'8" female. Work out 6 days per week and have a physical job and walk every day too. By BMR is supposedly 1700 and I burn 3000-3300 calories per day on average (that's measured with a Body Media Fit Armband, 95% accuracy).
I was eating around 1800 and that was definitely not enough, and I was not losing, in fact, the scale wasn't budging at all, either way. I increased the calories and it started moving again in the up-down seesaw effect of losing that I am used to. I am still struggling to eat enough though...0 -
Varying between 1600 and 2800 right now, lol.
2800 if I have exercised and eat back my exercise calories, 1600 when I just don't feel like eating much.0 -
1200-300 on non-workout days and around 1500 on workout days. The Goal MFP set for me is 1610 but I think that's too high.0
-
Trying to hit 1000 each day0
