CHALLENGE! NO ALCOHOL AUGUST!

Not trying to spoil your fun or anything.....

Just noticed that all these drinks are certainly not helping me get off this plateau. Too many parties, too much partying.

They add up!

So I'm saying bye-bye to beers and spiked lemonade, no more wine and nary a jello shot shall pass these lips for the month of August.

Anyone else want in?

    I would love, and really need, to accept this challenge. but I know I can't quit cold turkey. so, I will commit to only have 1 or 2 drinks only 1 day a week. this would be a huge improvement for me!!!

    Uh oh... I feel like you're talking to me... I challenged another fitness pal: if she reached her ridiculous calorie burn this weekend, I'd give up the sauce for a week. Now I feel your challenge...and I'm compelled to take it!

  • Wow....this is something I know I should do but definately don't want to....My bday is Sept 3rd and I've got some pounds to drop before then....Ok....count me in! :)

    i dont drink very much so i dont think giving up drinking will affect me, but i will give up fried food for August. :smile:
  • With you in spirit--I don't drink all that often anyway, but I have a wedding to go to and there is no way that I can go to that and be sober!!

    Already had a no alcohol June and July, why not tack on another month.

    I went out Thursday and Friday night and still have a hangover on Monday evening :sick: so I think for now I'm with you :grumble: . Maybe I'll change my mind by Saturday though :devil: :drinker: :huh:

    i will drink no alcohol, but I actually didnt have a drink since April.

    I'm 100%. My weight gain over the last three years has been accompanied by a step up in my drinking. Compounding the alcohol calories is the fact that I (a) eat more when I drink and (b) am lazier and don't get in as much exercise, then the pleasures of a drink (or 3 or 5) are not worth it.

    I am in!!

    I think my drinking is sabotaging my healthy eating and exercising! I have been doing great on both.. but the alcohol is keeping the scale from moving! (at least thats my theory)..
    I am totally up for seeing if cutting out all alcohol will help!

    Lord ain't it the truth!!? I'm at the weight I want to be, and I'm running and lifting like a fiend, but my little jelly roll is owed to the brews and I know it.

    However, I'm not sure I'm ready for this challenge.

    Maybe when the weather cools off. :wink:

    I've definitely cut back and it's helped a ton. This coincides with the final month of my program also, so count me in!

    I only indulge in moderation. This includes not only alcohol but food that I shouldn't eat. Too much of anything can be bad.
