    I'm 5'3" and have lost the last 20 pounds eating around 1500-1600 calories per day. I walk or hike everyday for at least an hour to give me extra calories. Short people don't need as many calories, that's a fact of life. My husband is 5'10" and he gets more calories. Why? because he has more muscle than me and needs more calories to stay at his maintenance weight. Another fact of life.
