    Welcome Newbies!!! It will take a while but we will get to know you all soooo soon. I'm excited! I did a great job today I had ten cups of water!!! YAY.. I definitely slack in the winter as well.

    Whew... so I'm giving myself just a little credit for this one. Its funny bc I haven't been visiting the bathroom more so my body was THIRSTY!!! I've got to do better!!!!

    I hope I did that right..I'm such a dork. :)

    Can I share a little secret? One of my goals is to be able to run a race someday.. a 5K. I have never wanted to do a 5K, but since I have been on this journey, I find myself thinking about it more and more BECAUSE I never thought I could do it... and what if I could?! WOW! I don't even want to enter to win... or be the fastest or anything.. I just want to finish. And there's a race right before my birthday in April!!! WOW! It's definitely a goal to shoot for. Once I hit the 50 lb mark, my plan is to do the Couch to 5K program... with this much weight, my knees are not gonna do so hot with me trying to run. I do run some on the treadmill, but I want to be careful. Anyway, listen to me blabber! :)

    It looks good, except for I think the Sixers post their Goal Weight for the next six weeks (not your overall goal). Hope that helps.

    boy so many people hard to do personals. so welcome everyone...:drinker: :flowerforyou: as time goes on it will be easier. i guess that means i have to check in more than my 50xs a day i do now. LOL. i do read all the post.

    marcie....i am doing the c25k now. just finished wk2 day2. cooling off than to the shower. there is another one pdxmom who does it also. she didn't join us this challenge :cry: . she is doing great at hers. we also had another one who did or is going to run a marathon. i believe she did the c25k. lauryn can correct me.

    doing great in my neck of the woods. need to shower and get to the store. dogs seem to think they want to eat. i just don't understand that. oh well.

    I got down 6 cups and thought I was doing good. 2 cups were forced. You'd think I was on a "Survivor" gross food challenge, I was making such a big deal out of it. It just doen't have any flavor! :laugh: And I'm just not thirsty. :laugh: :laugh:

    Morning -- coffee (about 2 cups)
    Morning -- diet green tea (counts for me for 2 cups of water)
    Lunch -- diet Cheerwine (it's a soda for those not from the South wink )
    Afternoon -- 4 cups of water (Nalgene bottle)
    Dinner -- 2 cups of kool aid (counts for me as water)
    Bedtime -- 2 cups of water (straight water..... I'm gonna force this issue with myself)

    Thanks Susan! I use to drink 10-12 cups of water/fluid a day and work out 5x a week (on my lunchbreak, M-F). I lost my job in May and allowed everything to crash down around me. I'm slowly working to rebuild. I'm starting back at the gym next week, I believe. (Gotta make sure the money is there.) I'm working on getting my fluids back up now. Baby steps, baby steps. There is no deadline, no finish line to my weight loss. It's not a race. It's a long term health goal. :bigsmile:

    I hate water. I really drink it though if it's got some Crystal Light-type stuff in it. I call plain water "health juice" in my house to try to make it sound more appealing. As in, "Want some soda with dinner?" "Oh, no thank you, I'm having a big glass of health juice." I'm amazed at everyone who can drink so much water. I used to be so good at it, but it really takes a lot of effort for me to get used to drinking so much plain water every day.

    I do, however, love the couch to 5k program. I broke my foot when I was 13, and C25k is really the only way I can get up to some pretty substantial jogging without hurting myself again. I did it a while back, when I was losing this weight the first time, and it was amazing. Me, a few friends, and our little dogs (only about 15 lbs, but they sure can walk!), were doing 5 and 6 mile walks with a lot of jogging thrown in. I never got my 5k time down to what I wanted it to be (under 30 minutes), but I'm sure when I get down to a better jogging weight, I'll start up on C25k again, and get that time down.

    Maggie, What a beautiful picture of your daughter and son to be. You must be very proud. I don't think my daughter will ever get married...(she's 27 and the only one of her freinds with out a husband and child). Me I am the only one of my friends that don't have grand babies. I am sure that this is a good thing.

    Lauryn- YAY... how is your water drinking going today. I did do my 8 glasses (which is my minimum) today! Thanks for making me be committed to this again. I need this kind of challenge. And to think water drinking used to be a given!

    Cathy- Glad you are still doing the C25K program. I know many members here have tried it and they say it works wonders.

    Slightingscale- I see you have been posting alot. THANKS we need people like you to keep us going! How was your day?

    As for me................................... I think I might have to be Tammara this challenge bc I dont want to confuse anyone. I think we have a few Tammy's this time. However I will probably still sign TAMM, its just a habit! I was running around like crazy today but I did get some things accomplished. I still have decided not to buy halloween candy until the day of event. That way it won't be looking at me every evening! LOL:laugh:

    Hi Sixers ... thank you all for the comments on the picture of my baby girl and the love of her life. She truly is happy ... they've known each other since kindergarten ... I have a picture of them together back then ... they became an item at prom when they shared their first kiss ... that was 7 years ago. Isn't that the most mushy story you ever heard ... but it's true ... they're best friends and truly in love. I've loved him like my own son since they were little kids and now he really will be my son. I'm way to excited. Their wedding will be in August of 2010.

    On a weight loss note ... I actually stayed within my calories today and drank my water and got some walking in. It's been quite some time since that's happened. It must be all the positive vibes from all the newbies - thanks for that my friends. All in all it was a good day. Now I'm pooped so I'm off to bed.

    I did well today too, I did not drink my normal 64oz. of h2o cuz I was filling in Fed Ex and I drive in rural areas with NO bathroom but I did drink 48oz. along with lot's of coffee!! I NEVER have a problem with exercise, it is staying in the limited calorie range! I did awesome with both today!! If ALL days were like today I would be a smaller person!!     i did pretty good yesterday. had a few extra bites here and there. today will be better.

    Yesterday was my off day for exercise and I really didn't eat so well either. :grumble: Today though I have started out well and plan to continue the good eating. Then it is back to the treadmill tonight for my run! I wish I could run every day, but I am not that fit yet. I still some time in between my jogs.

    Ali, I use flavoring packets in my water too. I drink kool aid at night (sugar free). Trying to drink more plain water, but if I can't manage that, I'll go back to my flavored water.

    Maggie, I forgot to look at your daughter's photo last night. I can't see it at work. I must remember to look tonight!!! Congrats on a good day with calories and exercise!

    Erin, wish I could run every day too. I love the feeling of running. NEVER thought I'd be a runner, EVER in my life! I haven't run in a while and need to build back up my stamina but it's such a great rush. So free.
