I'm 5'1, 167 lbs and was eating 1200 per day but plateaued and just upped my calories to 1400.. I'm so freaked out I'm going to end up gaining weight. How many calories are you guys eating and what are your stats?
5'1" working out 3x a week can easily eat 1600-1800 and still lose fat.
Lift weights and youll be amazed!
Give fat a reason not to exist!
Eat right and move right!
^^^^^ Love this.
I'm 5'5, 174lbs and just upped my calories from 1200 to 1520. I was freaked out too but I am going to trust the process.0 -
5'3", currently 123lbs. 5 weeks out from my first fitness competition. Eating 1400 calories per day. Was maintaining well at 1700 for the past few months. Can't wait to bulk again after competition.0

I'm 5'6", 172 lbs, eating approx 1700/day, working out 5-6 days/week (cardio 3-4 times, strength training - 2 times). When I last checked I had lost 9 lb's and 9 inches in 9 weeks.0

5'8" 140 lbs. I eat to maintain, if not slow bulk- at 2000-2500.0

Approximately 5'11" and 173lbs.
I realized a few days go that I was eating about 100 cals less than I should have (1550) and upped it to reflect my internet guesstimated BMR.
I don't have much time for exercise between my 3 jobs and sleep, but I manage to squish in a minimum of 10,000 steps a day. I also eat relatively well.
This week I'll have some extra time in the mornings before work, so I'll be getting some more running in (like I did today! 2 miles!).0 -
I am 5'7" and I weigh 145 pounds. I had my calories set at 1200....but I always ate back my exercise calories. So I was really consuming 1700-2000 a day. I lost 25 pounds and am now just focusing on body composition. I recently set my calories to 1650 a day and do not log my exercise calories. I also never log calories on the weekend. I am usually really active over the weekend and need some time to drink my microbrews!0

I really doubt you're going to gain from eating only 200 more calories per day.
I eat 1300.0 -
5'9" 125, and eat at maintenance which is about 2100 calories.0

I'm 5'8, and I usually reach between 1200 and 1500. Some days I struggle to reach 1200, other days it's not too hard reaching 1500, but I don't think I can eat the 1580 MFP is recommending I eat. Now I'm in the habit of drinking copious amounts of water and almost no other drinks, and now I am finding my appetite just isn't what it used to be. My snacking has greatly reduced because of it too. This really contributes to my struggling to hit 1200 some days. I find myself grabbing one of my snack portions of nuts to try and get the numbers up a bit.
Sure, if I ate crap and didn't hold myself accountable, I'd easily hit 2000, but that's not what this journey is all about for me.0 -
5'7" 125 lbs
1700
-600 (tandem breastfeeding 2 toddlers who nurse 8 times a day)
= 2300 calories a day
I workout for 350-400 cals every day, so I aim to eat back at least half of that.
Present status: maintain current weight (not looking to lose or gain)0 -
1780 everyday and I make sure to eat my excercise calories back This way I've lost 9 lbs so far..0
-
5'2 133lbs. I am eating a net of 1300, (1300 plus my exercise calories.)0
-
At least 1500....a lot of lean meat and veggies.... I've started to strength training so I need the xtra calories and protein....wanting to average about 75-100 grams of protein/ day...0
-
I'm also 5'11'' and weigh about 170 right now. I eat anywhere between 1600-1900 cal/day...regardless of how much I exercise that day. AND I've begun eating only when hungry...big deal for me. I used to eat when bored and at night, mostly. I've cut that down a LOT and it has helped me get down quite quickly. I'm also not eating back my exercise calories for the most part.0

40 years old, 5'5 and about 135 pounds, and I maintain around 2300.
I lost weight eating between 1350-1700 plus exercise calories, for a total of 1700-2000+.0 -
Just shy of 5'5" and weigh 119 pounds. Currently eating 1850+/per day, lifting 3x/week and losing BF/inches. Lost 30 pounds netting 1500-1600 per day and lifting 3x/week, no cardio.0
-
5'7" 219 lbs averaging between 1300-1500 net.
I work out at least 5 days a week and average a weekly loss of about 1.5 pounds.0 -
I am 33 years old, 5'8", 154, 26.7% BF and currently working out 5 or 6 days a week. I revised my calories yesterday and have it set at just over 1800 cals per day so not long enough to know if this will work.0
-
5'4"

maintenance = 2500
Currently, I try to eat between 1900-2000.0 -
32 years old 5'3" around 200lbs (my scale broke a few weeks ago and I haven't gotten a new one yet) and I am eating 1600-1800 calories a day and eat back exercise calories. I lose between 1/2lb-1lb a week while doing this.0
-
1500-1800 a day. I do Zumba twice a week and weights 2-3 times a week, plus walking 2-3 times a week.0

19 years old, 5'3, 147 lbs, and I have set my own calorie goal to 1600 and I have been slightly under the past couple of days, but have also gone over most of the time. I exercised once a day (cardio & strenght training) and am now trying to exercise twice a day to quick up my metabolism and lose more weight.
And yes, I do eat some of my exercise calories back.0 -
5'5 159 lbs and I do IF two days then 1600 the rest.0
-
I'm 5'5", 155 and have a calorie goal of 1656 (my RMR). I do 30-45 minutes of weights and 30-60 minutes of cardio six days a week. But since strength training tends to make me hungry, I do eat some if not all of my exercise calories if I'm still hungry after hitting my calorie goal.0
-
24 5'0 179.0 1200 calories a day .. burn about 784 -1000. I kinda have no choice but to EAT BACK0
-
I started with 1200/day. Then upped it to 1400+ while running. I started a perpetual headache for like 4 days and was super tired. Now, since I'm training for a half marathon I try to get around 2000/day. After all that, I've only gone up a pound and I no longer have headaches and/or am I falling out in the middle of the day from being so tired!
Don't fret! If you go up... adjust accordingly. You don't know until you try!
Btw, I'm 5'3" and 116.0
