I eat about 1750 on an average day. If I work out more than usual (so if it's a run day, for example) I eat back the exercise calories.

I'm 5'5", 52 yrs. old, SW 195 lbs., CW 134.2 lbs.,1200 calories for a sedentary, 1.5 lb. loss per week. My weekly losses have been between 1-2 lbs. after an initial two week 10 lbs. loss. Switched a few weeks ago to a .5 lb. loss goal since I only have 10 lbs. or so to go before reaching my goal and was reset at 1270 calories.

I lost most of my weight with little to no exercise. Not a smart move, regretting it now. But, recently started walking/jogging 3-4 days a week for 60 mins., and twice a week I do a beginners bodyweight exercise program I found on nerdfitness.com. I eat back most of my exercise calories.

I'm 5'4 and at maintenance so I eat 1700 on days I don't exercise. I try and eat most of my exercise calories back on days that I work out.

I'm 5'4 183lbs and I'm doing 1550. I started at 1200 then upped it to 1450 and now 1550. Still losing weight. I did stall for the first week though. Then I had a whoosh of about a pound and a half.

    I'm 5'10 and eat around 1900

IMO I don't agree with the site setting people to 1200 a day. It's unrealistic to maintain and I don't think it's healthy.

If you choose to stay with the sites suggestions then all the best but I feel you should up it and start lifting and trying new cardio etc. Yes you will likely gain at first but it will level out and muscle weighs more than fat anyway. Remember that the number on the scale is just a number. Don't focus on that alone. Take measurements. All the best

    I'm 26 years old, 5ft 2.5 inches tall and 14st 9.5lbs.

I've been following 1200 calories since day 1 but am at a point where I need a bit more food day-to-day.

I've just upped to losing 1.5lbs per week and this has given me 1300 calories per day. Feeling better, less tired and I have more energy than I have for a while.

I'm 5'1, 167 lbs and was eating 1200 per day but plateaued and just upped my calories to 1400.. I'm so freaked out I'm going to end up gaining weight. How many calories are you guys eating and what are your stats?
Do you care about weight or your body composition? pant size? Muscle weighs more than fat, so maybe you need to change up your workout routine!

I am 36, 5'7", currently 251lbs (highest ever was 274, looking to be 160) and MFP advises 2040 calories per day (for a 2lb weekly loss). I usually try to be about 1800 (with the exception of periodic night binge derailment) and my activity level is fairly high now that I'm back to work.

If I could extinguish that binge eating *kitten*, I'd be super good to go. Damn you, food! *shakes fist towards the heavens*

I just started (this is day 6) and I was at 225lb and 5 feet even.

I am eating about 1200 plus my workout calories.

It depends on my appetite and the amount of activity per day. I'm 4'9 and it can range anywhere from 1000 (super sedentary day) to 1600 (active day). On average, over the past two weeks, my fitbit tells me I get in a little over 1300 so that makes sense.

5'4", about 160 lbs... Shooting for about 1400 calories a day, but sometimes have trouble eating more than 1200 and staying within my macro limits... I have to encourage you though and let you know that while eating around 1200 per day I lost significant weight, but since I've been eating more I've escaped a plateau and have begun to lose even quicker! I also exercise 4-6 times per week for at least an hour at a time.

    Aren't you girls hungry?

Those eating at TDEE or responsibly below excluded.

But no one should be eating 1000 - 1400 calories... few people would have BMR less then that!

I'm 5'6", currently 204 (but started at 256). I'm 33 years old and I exercise 4-6 times per week, usually 2-3 runs, one other cardio such as boxercise and then 2 other workouts which is HIIT plus 30 mins strength training. I follow the TDEE method so don't eat back exercise calories.

My allowance is 1850 however I eat 1650 on week days, so that I can have a few treats on a weekend. I am consistently losing 1-2lb per week on this amount.

I previously ate only 1200 but I plateaued for a whole month and was completely exhausted. Within 1 week of putting my calories up I dropped 8lb. I've learned now to fuel my body correctly for the exercise I do and to concentrate one ating the right foods and meeting my macros (I currently eat 45% carbs, 25% fat and 30% protein). I've never felt better :)
