    Summer Heat Challenge

    Name: Birgit
    Age: 62
    Height: 6'0"

    Start Weight (July 5): 185.8
Goal Weight (September 15): Stay within 182-185lbs, MAINTENANCE

Weigh in week of: (Weeks are listed by Wednesdays)
    1. July 12: Can't weigh - camping/hiking in the woods
    2. July 19: 183.2
    3. July 26: 181.4 Probably means I didn't drink enough water yesterday
    4. August 2: 182.8
    5. August 9: 184.0
    6. August 16: Can't weigh - camping/hiking in the woods
    7. August 23:
    8. August 30:
    9. September 6:
    10. September 13:
    Final weight: Saturday, September 16:

    Weight -/+ this week: +1.2
Weight -/+ challenge total: -1.8 (the goal is to MAINTAIN)
Weight loss so far: 120+ lbs lost since 4/4/16

Celebrated hubby's birthday a little too enthusiastically this past week (three day's worth of celebratory meals - lol). Still, my goal is to stay between 182 and 185, so today's 184 is not too bad. I do need to be careful, though as this can easily become a very slippery slope.

Next week we're off for another camping week in the Adirondacks. Typically, when we're camping my food choices tend to be awful, but still I tend to lose a little weight because of all the physical activity. Hopefully that will happen again this next time.

"See" you all in two weeks. My best wishes to ALL!

Well i have had some tiredness struggles the last couple weeks. I have been eating out more because i am wore out after coming home from work. So hadnt washed the dishes to be able to cook. Well i started to change that over the long weekend. And washed just enough to cook me lunch and dinner.

But i was so tired tuesday morning....i simply stayed home from work and slept in. It felt good for those extra hours...and managed to get some more dishes washed and made more yummy meals.

Soooo the scale finally budged for this morning. LOL

Taking care of oneself is so important. I need to work on getting a little extra sleep in...here and there.

    Have a great day everyone!

Additional Weight loss / Fitness goals would like to achieve this summer:
1 - consistency in daily calories, say within 100 day to day = no idea this week, what with computer issues.
2 -steady increase in duration and occurance of street walking = slipped back to not enough this week, spent a lot of time sitting at the computer doing recovery work. It's still not finished as some of my programs won't open and a couple make the computer hang ... hopefully everything will be back on track this next week.

My optional challenges are going to be to hit 100+ grams of protein/day and to walk/run 40 miles/week.

    Start weight (week of July 5): 198.4; days 100+ g protein = 5/7; 24.26 miles
Goal weight (Saturday September 16): 185

    Weigh in week of:
    July 12: 197.8; 5/7 days 100+ g protein; 26.72 miles
    July 19: 197.8; 4/7 days 100+ g protein; 26.11 miles
    July 26: 197.2; 3/7 days 100+ g protein; 25.01 miles
    August 2: 197.4; 2/7 days 100+ g protein; 21.92 miles
    August 9: 197.4; x/7 days 100+ g protein x miles
    August 16: x/7 days 100+ g protein x miles
    August 23: x/7 days 100+ g protein x miles
    August 30: x/7 days 100+ g protein x miles
    September 6: x/7 days 100+ g protein x miles
    September 13: x/7 days 100+ g protein x miles
    Final weight September 16:

    Weight +/- this week: +.2
    Weight +/- total: -.4

Protein goal: Again, I failed to log consistently due to traveling, but 2 of the days I was in the upper 90s, so it wasn't as bad as it looks.
Mileage: I spent 6 hours in a car 2 of the days last week, so there wasn't much opportunity for miles those days. However, I could have done much better the rest of the week.

Very disappointed in myself and desperately need to get back on track!! We ended up coming home from vacation 5 days early and for about 6 days I sat my lazy *kitten* on the couch and did NOTHING!! I managed to get dressed only twice in those 6 days and one of those days was Sunday when I had to go to the store and pick up some things so that I would stop eating all the junk that was in the house for meals instead of preparing something suitable.

My sister, who is having some sort of weight loss surgery soon (not sure which one), was on a "last hoorah" I guess. Where I wanted to go see and do my favorite things, she wanted to eat things from her favorite places while we were back "home" in Pittsburgh. Donut shops, ice cream parlors, fried fish sandwiches. Aside from probably the best fish sandwich I'd ever eaten, I wasn't impressed with the donuts or the ice cream.

I was back in time where I could have posted on August 2nd, but I chose not to - I thought I was tricking myself; maybe I could lose what I gained before posting on August 9th?? I mean, I was still on vacation right? Did I lose anything? No!! Why do we play games with ourselves like this?? SMH GRRRR

Monday morning, I tried to shake it off and leave the past in the past and start fresh. Hopefully, I will see improvement next week. I need to get back on track as a similar family vacation is what set me back 3 years ago. Except 3 years ago I lost a little while away but I was never able to fully get back on track with eating habits and it eventually caught up with me. I can't afford to let that happen this time. So far this week has been challenging, I just have to work very hard this weekend which always seems to be my downfall. Every. Single. Week.

Until next time; wishing everyone Peace B) , Love <3 and Weight Loss  !!

    Good Morning All!!

We have reached week # 5 of the Summer Heat Challenge!!

I am happy to report that we have improved this week compared to the previous woohoo!! Well done!!

We have 11 people who lost weight; 1 maintained and 5 gained a bit. In total gross we lost 23.3 lbs this week and since the challenge started a net a mount of 103.1 lbs (equivalent to 26% of our total goal).

When we started we had 29 people that joined the challenge; unfortunately we have lost some on the way so when reporting the final numbers at the end the challenge I will remove those who hardly participated and we will have our final exact figures.

@Meme1121 congrats, great loss this week!!

Everyone have a lovely rest of the week and looking forward to seeing your next weigh-in awesome posts!

Friday Fitness ... cut the grass front and back today ... 2 hours of non stop action ... still having computer issues ... and here I was patting myself on the back yesterday that I got it fixed. Something, somewhere all of a sudden got very wrong ... was it that NPR broadcasting co video I received froma friend in an email? Or was it a movie I watched on the web subscription movie provider Feel'n from Hallmark Cards? Or from a video I watched on YouTube? Or is this 6 year old computer deciding that it wants me to buy a new one? .... Well ... no way am I gonna buy a new one. But I will curtain my exposure to the web world. Wish it where as easy to curtail my exposure to over consumption of food. :)

Saturday - Success (what have you accomplished; focus on the positive of the week, NSV=non scale victories)

Breakfast today was as it 'should' be. Small whole wheat toast with microwave scrambled egg, a slice of cheddar cheese and a half cup of red grapes along with my coffee and water. Now ... will this breakfast hold me over as well as the one I had yesterday? Of course, yesterday's breakfast had a litte more than twice the calories in it than today's did ... still, I did not eat again for over 8 hours on yesterday .... hoping to go for 5 today with this lighter and leaner meal.
PS ... edited to add ... cause lighter and leaner is what I must do to get back into the swing of things. (Before I undo all that I have done thus far!)

Computer crashed yet again. In the process of reinstalling and posting this as a test of how MFP app is affecting my machine. Expect to be MIA from here for a while. Hope everyone losses weight by the Wednesday check-in ... and hope I am back up and running by then. This computer issue is getting tiresome. I am losing patience.

    Gorgeous photo happy girl!

Nikion., I hope computer is fixed soon!

Does our group seem smaller? Is it just something that happens over summer! I know how difficult summer is for me... lack of routine and sleep is killing me.
