I'm not doing as well as I would like today. Only 30 oz of water so far, and feeling very "Meh" as far as working out goes. I just can't seem to focus. I played Wii Sports & worked up a sweat, but that's about the extent of it. Maybe later tonight I will try to work up the gumption to work.

Last night, I called hubby a wimp. :(
I really shouldn't have done that. I was just so frustrated that he wouldn't even try meeting the goal he set for himself on Wii Fit Plus after a light 45 minute workout. Most days I sweat for over an hour. Needless to say feelings were hurt on both sides. Maybe that's why I'm feeling kinda down.

Word of advice: Never call the primary breadwinner a wimp, even if he does fall short on some of his goals.

know how ppl quote jillian michaels--keep going till you puke or something like that. well, that's how i felt doing chest and back today. after one of the exercises, my body decided to get nauseous and dry heave. whoa

but i rested/recovered and eventually finished chest and back of p90x. i am sooooo sore in my bi and tri--and my boobs will KILL tomorrow--but i'm soooo proud of myself for doing this!
and i'm still amazed that my dh did the whole program.

anyway, need to wash the stink off.
and trish--just press play (that's tony horton's advice--a beachbody thing). or....rest for real--mentally and physically if that's what you truly need

    have a great evening all!

Okay, so a question a while back on here was what are we doing to not over induldge on Turkey day. I am doing a 5k in the morning! Yep, I got suckered into it by a friend I just met. Well not exactly suckered but I wouldn't have done it on my own so I'm glad she asked. I haven't done a 5k in 2 years and that was the only one i've ever done LOL I have to take my kids because my dh is working (gotta love the military life). So I'm pushing my kiddo's in the bike trailer, hoping it works out okay because I know they can't walk it all themselves. I've taken it on walks but not that far before just think a lot of balancing because there is no front wheel.

anyway, then I play on eating sensibly. I want to eat all the yummy stuff so no depriving I am just aiming for moderation, and only allowing myself 1 slice of pie. I've told myself I really dont' need to sample ALL the pies.

Oh and I need to work on my water intake, I did SSOO good for a while then the last few days I haven't really had any to speak of. Maybe that's why i'm so bloated and horribly uncomfortable ???

    Happy thanksgiving everyone

So what's for dinner? Hubby was very nice & made beef & broccoli stir fry. It was delicious!

Finally working toward my 90th oz of water, should have it tucked away by bedtime.

shera, you and nicolee are running tomorrow. i'm walking with leslie sansone (4 or 5mi) and cleaning bathrooms.

i'm making sweet potatoes for my mashed pot (i don't care for the other kind anyway) w/o brown sugar, marshmallows and all that.
    i don't like stuffing so that's good.
i'm serving mandarin oranges to up the fruit/vege balance.
i can have a small serving of the green bean cass and be ok with that
maybe i'll have green salad there too.
    and turkey is fine

my hard part?? if i make any of the desserts i want--brownies? choc chip cookies?? apple coffee cake?? apple crisp?? (last 2 are food network recipes)---i'll overeat. i know i'll have at least 2 servings--and then will i be able to resist it the other days?? but i really like trying new recipes for holidays. hmmm
    decisions decisions.

gotta finish my water and get to bed. have a great day tomorrow everyone!!

oh, and unloading the dishwasher. I don't know why, guess all the bending and reaching. I actually wash and dry my dishes by hand some nights just to avoid that chore.

 I do the same thing! I end up washing most of my dishes by hand because I hate unloading the dishwasher. The load of laundry I hate the most is the one with all the socks. It takes forever to fold!!

I haven't done as well on my water today and I can feel it. But I've been doing well on exercise, because I've spent most of the day doing housework. Ugh!

    Have a great night everyone!:flowerforyou:

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving. I have to say I am thankful for this SAHM group as well this Thanksgiving. I've felt like I've been going this alone for so long... My husband and kids are all on the lower end of the BMI scale (I think my son is actually a little underweight), so I've really had to cook one way for them with extra fat and cals. and another way for myself. Thanks for all the support. I am definitely downing extra water and taking an immunity supplement trying to stave off this cold. So far not full blown, but has definitely made it hard preparing for Thanksgiving. I'm hosting this year, so on the plus side I have all this heavy cleaning I've been doing (Scrubbing 2 bathrooms, vacuuming and shampooing carpet, sweeping/mopping kitchen/dining area, rearranging furniture) to count toward my exercise goals. On the down side I'm doing all the cooking and yesterday was soooo hard because I baked 2 pies, cookies, and cupcakes for our dessert spread. Was so hard not to taste test. Had my 6 yr. old do it instead  Well, I've started my day off well up at 5 am with toddler, and got 45 min. of step aerobics done. Also polished off 40 oz. of water by 7 am. Woo hoo! Now if I can just stay with my small portions for Thanksgiving lunch, and only have one slice of pumpkin pie I will still be fine with cals. for today! Wish me luck, as I wish all of you luck for today's eating and exercising!

Happy Thanksgiving, my SAHM sisters! I have faith you're all going to do great today. Extra good luck to Shera & Nicole on your Turkey Trots ;)

jrbowers, it sounds like you are off with a shot! Keep it up, and you'll do great.

I felt like I achieved nothing yesterday. Got no workout in, and ended up feeling very "blargh", both emotionally & physically. I have just 2 more loads of laundry to do, after doing 8 loads yesterday. I still need to pick up after the baby, clear the counters, sweep, mop, and vacuum. Thank heavens I have the best hubby who will not only help me take care of Grace, but help with all the housework, too! He folded 90% of the laundry last night. He also takes care of the bird every year, and gets fussy if I even try to, even though I've cooked a couple myself. :)

I'm also grateful that it's just my brother in law, and my best friend & her husband coming over. They've all seen my house at its very worst, so having it this clean will be cool.

Hoping my mashed cauliflower will turn out okay today. I'm trying a different recipe. Oh, and my best friend was really nice and is bringing a low calorie homemade dessert, and a veggie platter. No temptations in my house today!

I'm thankful for all my SAHM friends, as well. I don't have my dinner until Saturday. When I have my daughter. I have to go pick her up Friday.

Good luck everyone with portion control and trying not to pig out! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Just checking in. How's everybody holding up? I have been chowing down on veggies since my friend & her hubby got here, but the cupcakes she brought have been screaming my name like bloody murder. Good thing they're only 100 calories each. It's going to be hard resisting them until after dinner!

Well, had my Thanksgiving Dinner and so didn't stay within what I planned. I've done all my eating for the day and although I'm not hungry now don't know what the next few hours will be like. Bad news is since I hosted I'm stuck with a bunch of leftovers. I did buy alot of disposable containers to send most of it home with the relatives, but the brisket that I promised myself tomorrow is calling to me. Why did we have to have turkey AND brisket. UGH! Oh well, will try to hold out. My little one has full blown cold today, so most of my night will be spent giving her little extra TLC. Hope she gets better before I get sicker or I'm in for a rough week. But being sick does make me have less of an appetite...

Congrats to everyone who did the turkey trots. My best friend has been trying to get me to one, but she is so much more athletic than me I think she'd leave me in the dust.

Drborkbork, I have to say I am proud of you for doing sensible snacking and desserts today. Keep it up!

haven't sat down to eat yet--definitely looking forward to it. my eating has been fine all day. i need to drink some more water, tho. i'm not even at 5.

    did a shorter workout--30min 2mi 200cals
but given that a year ago i would've done 0, i'm happy with that.

jr, hope your little one feels better. and trish, good job on the veges.

enjoy the rest of your evening, ladies. check in tomorrow!:flowerforyou:

I gave into temptation and ate it, I didn't eat enough calories at dinner to take my pills. I'm supposed to eat atleast 500 calories or apparently they don't work the way they are supposed too.

I succumbed to the delectable cupcakes! The chocolate meringue frosting on top did me in.

On the bright side, I've already gotten 90 oz of water down, and behaved at dinner. My guests seemed to really like my mashed cauliflower, and are taking some home with them :)

They were, and they were only 117 calories each! I was tempted eat a 4th, but it would've put me over on sodium.

i did well with the food--tho should put bigger first round so i wdn't have had seconds--which then is too much. kwim?

and then came the apple crisp---i ate half the pan. could calculate the real nutritional data, but just grabbed one from the database instead. yeah, that's a LOT of cals.

oh well. i'm done eating it, def yummy and def felt like a special treat. will just have to keep with the exercise plan, as intended. and maybe throw in 2 extra cardio sessions.

night trish and silver! (and the rest of you)

I just finished my wii workout, made sure I got my calories burned off from dinner. Going to push to get another 30 oz of water in me, bringing me up to 120 oz for the day.

I got a perfect score on the marching band game on Wii Fit Plus, both on beginner, and advanced. It's not a huge accomplishment, but it was exciting & made me happy for the day.

Night ladies! Be careful & safe if you're going shopping in the morning with the crazies.

Morning, ladies. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and if you went shopping this morning I hope you were successful.

I was supposed to go help my mom clean at her house today for dinner tomorrow, but now she wants to do the cleaning tomorrow morning. Oh joy! (note the sarcasm) It's definitely gonna be rushed trying to get the cleaning done by 1, so we can have our turkey for lunch.

Nicholee, have fun decorating. I can't afford a tree this year. Last year, I made a tree on the wall out of christmas lights, but it was too hard to keep shar from pulling it off the wall and now she's 2, so I don't think it'll be a good idea, so I don't know what I"m gonna do. I feel bad not setting up anything for xmas.

Save up through December and invest in a fake tree, and buy it after Christmas when they're all crazy cheap. That's what we did our first year. Now we have a tree every year, and save so much money by not getting a real one. We paid, like, $60 (Originally $150 or so, cuz it was 75% off) for ours, and it's a 7ft tall tree, takes up half our livingroom. It's really beautiful all decked out. I think fake trees pay for themselves!

In the mean time, keep your eyes peeled for pictures of snowmen, elves, and santa clauses in whatever circulars come in your daily mail. You can always cut them out and tape them up :)
Oh, and tinsel is pretty cheap too!
