    23. Nursing College Student. Have been told nursing students tend to gain weight while in the program (stress). I'd like to not be that student! Lost over 10 pounds so far.

    Hi all!!

I'm Kathryn. I've been struggling with my weight ever since I'm little. I would like to lose 60 lbs and keep it off. I just started a couple days ago with one of my best friends. Not only will losing the weight boost my self confidence and esteem, but it will be a total life style change. I'm about to head off to college in 3 weeks and I do NOT want to gain freshman 15. I want to be able to wear beautiful dresses and flirt with all the boys I want knowing that I look good. :)

Anyways, feel free to add me. I seriously need all the support I can get. like...ALOT.

Hello all! I'm Ashley I'm 25 and I started using MFP back in April and then stopped using it.. this is my first time on the web site (I used the app) I didn't realize there was an entire online community here this is GREAT!!!! I was exposed by a friend and I thought she was going to do it too so we could be accountablity buddies-- however she had weight loss surgery and only logs in to update her weight.. I don't have any children but I have a lot of extra weight piled on.. When I started following this program back in April it was amazing-- weight just fell off everyday I was lighter and it was awesome- until I went on vacation and gained all of the weight back and then slowly gained a few more..

I feel like I would be much more disciplined with logging each day if I had someone to check up on (and to check up on me) I'd love to be *friends!*

Good idea. Hi, i'm Marysue, i'm 47 & new to this site, but its my 2nd week on it & its helped me alot. All my life, up until around 12 years ago i had been a size 1-3. then i broke my arm & quit smoking & drinking. I've steadily put on weight ever since. But its time to stop & reverse this downward slide, i know its up to me. I plan on losing 50- 60 pounds. I've lost 5 so far. My goal is to lose 1-2 lbs a week through lifestyle changes of; healthy eating, calorie control, exercise prayer, getting 7-8 hours of sleep,( which might be hard cause i'm a college student, lol), & reducing, or at least handling my stress better.

I'm currently 20 years old, and I'm trying to reach my *ultimate* goal weight of 140. Which, apparently for my height at 5'4 is the upper end of a healthy BMI. I have not been even CLOSE to 140 lbs in AT LEAST 10 years. I've always been really big.

I started at 218 lbs mid August and am now down to about 203-205. My first mini-goal is under 200 (again, I haven't been that in at least four years!) and I'm almost there! My second halfway goal is 170-180 lbs by the end of October and I know if I could just keep on top of things and not let myself get lazy, I could do it! But I've noticed more and more that it helps a TON if I just had people kind of coaxing me along with each day I log in, just to encourage me to do my best every day and push myself more and more each day.

I've sort of run into this problem where, despite a large weigh loss at the beginning of the year and even with these last 15 lbs, I don't see ANY ounce of difference in myself physically. I still feel like that piggy little girl I always was and feel like I always will be.

This is more the reason why I'm looking for a little extra support. I'm desperate to step it up and lose more weight more quickly without getting sick or becoming unhealthy.

Also, anybody in the Austin, Texas area looking for a work-out/IRL-motivation buddy let me know!

Hi everyone, I can really use more active and positive people. I'm no longer on a diet. I am on a lifestyle change. I eat past my BMR everyday and would love more people who are doing the same. You can read more about my journey on my profile. Thanks :)

Crystal the 29 year old female here from texas. Have lost 52lbs but still have almost 50 more to go, so I'll be here a while. I don't comment much over little things but when you have a loss or pushed through and exercised when you didn't want to, I'm there. I log on everyday (almost to 295 in a row) and my diary is open to friends. I'm just not a big talker, but I do love reading about other people reaching for their goals, it helps me reach for mine!

edit to add: anyone who is a stickler for a certain number of calories per day is going to hate my diary. I work all different schedules from days to nights to weekends so it gets rough to plan meals sometimes. Rest assured that I do not "starve" myself and I do make up for the loss on days when i'm not so busy.

All of my feels...I couldn't have said it better myself. (Except I'm not even halfway yet...I still have noticed all the positive changed in my mental and emotional health though and it's a GREAT motivation tool!)

Hi everyone! I just joined the site a few minutes ago and right now I only have the friend who invited me here. I gained some weight in the past months and I want to get it off! I'm officially kicking off my fitness effort September 1. I am not concerned about my weight number as much as i am concerned about my shape, toning and if and how I fit into my existing clothes! I estimate that I'm looking to lose around 15 lbs but really looking to change my lifestyle habits so that they include regular exercise 4-5 days a week and a healthier diet - I'm aiming for as few processed foods in my diet as possible. I would love to have some more friends so that i will be encouraged to get on the site and be accountable for doing what I'm pledging to do. I'll be using fitness DVDs and going for walks/ runs with my dog. Feel free to friend me ;) (I don't know how to do that yet, but I'll learn ;)
