Since I last measured I lost an inch and a half. But I gained about 1 inch on my thighs, so I guess it evens out to .5 inches since I last measured myself.

Nicole & Silver, great inch loss! Keep in mind, I have more to lose than you, so I think my gut is going to drop more inches a bit faster than you, SKINNY!

Nicole, I did see your advice about eating before I left, but if there was dinner there, I wanted to have as many available calories as I could. Today I get to eat a very satisfying Ravioli Florentine for lunch. I also just got back from a busy morning.

I was supposed to have a doctor appointment at 9 this morning. Grace usually wakes me up around 7:30 "Mama... Mama... My!" Which usually translates to "Mom, I dropped my bear!"
But this morning I woke up at 8:30, said "CRAP!" Grabbed the baby, changed her & dressed ourselves groggily, searched madly for her shoes (which I could only find 1 of) and bolted out the door having slammed down an Ensure.
I get to my appointment at 9A exactly. Then proceed to wait for an entire hour to even be called back! :grumble:

Afterwards, I stopped by the grocery store to pick up some stuff for dinner. Here's the funny part. I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE! I just wandered the aisles. Anything to keep from going home. The only thing extra I splurged on, and I'm stoked about, is... SALSA!! I found a tub of super chunky, low-sodium, all natural salsa. I was stoked!

Well, try to save the kitchen floor from Grace's lunch attack & put her down for nap so I can exercise.

    TTYL, ladies! :)

Trish, yay for finding the Salsa. I'd be losing inches faster if I was actually working out. Lately I'm just trying to get my mental faculties under control. I'm attempting to watch what I eat. But lately I just haven't been that hungry, ya know?

I can relate. I get really uncomfortable in the summer due to the heat & lose my appetite.
As far as depression goes, I've found that working out every day has really helped the way I feel emotionally. It not only gives me an adrenaline lift to make it through the rest of the day, but it's pumping endorphines too, and I just feel really relaxed and happy when I'm done. I know it's hard to want to do anything when you're depressed (been down that road as a teen, not fun), but I think exercising really does help on an emotional level over time. :)

btw, nobody look at my food diary today. Dinner is a nightmare in the sodium department (but terrific by calorie count!)

It'll be ok Trish, atleast you are staying within your calories!

Silver- I agree with Trish! Exercise does really help depression! When I am depressed, I actually focus more on exercise than I do my food. I know they go hand-in-hand, but when the exercise makes me feel better, than I want to eat better. It is a good snowball effect!

Yah! for the Salsa Trish !! I LOVE SALSA!! I used to make my own, but haven't in years. I may next summer, no that I am home!

I tried making my own salsa a few weeks ago. It was really tasty, but definitely needed jalapenos! It was also terrifically high in sodium as I grabbed the ingredients from canned goods (kidney beans, corn, diced tomatoes with lime & cilantro).

I decided to move my ravioli florentine to another day & have oriental chicken instead. It help me cut off a little bit of sodium. It's amazing how much sodium is in "health food". I'm definitely considering trying to make all my own stuff and find away around this high sodium nonsense. There's got to be a better way!

Hmmm... maybe instead of chips & salsa today, I will throw some salsa in my cheeseburger wrap at dinner. I could use that instead of pickles, and cut out 400 sodium.
Can you believe the nerve of pickles? "Eat us! Eat us! We're only 20 calories a pickle! So scrumptious! So juicy!" *gawks at sodium content of said healthy pickle*

Ouch on the sodium, trish! Good luck on making your own things and cutting out alot of sodium!

Trish. I make most of my own stuff now. I make our salad dressing, soups, bread, etc. Since we just moved recently, I didn't have a garden this year, so I didn't make more stuff. I usually make my own spaghetti sauce, ketchup, jam/jelly and various other stuff like that. It is time consuming, but the benefits are awesome! I realized after I made my salad for lunch that I need to make more salad dressing. OOPS!!! So I just threw some salsa on the salad. It is actually very good, but kills me on the sodium part!
PLEASE remind me to drink extra water today!!!!!!!!:grumble: :drinker: Drink up my lady!

Okay, Nicole. You & me. Drinking contest. Today, starting NOW. I haven't gotten 30 oz in yet, so you've probably got a big head start.

I am going to work out now. I know my sodium is terrible, but I'm going to reward myself with chips and salsa when Grace gets up from nap & has snack time!

That will just motivate me to drink MORE water.

Holy cow this salsa is SMOKING! I got the medium, but this medium is like super hot for me. Usually medium on a major brand is kinda wimpy, but WOWZERS! This stuff is intense. Going to take some time to get through. I only had 1/4 cup :)

So I totally just had a brain fart!! I had a snack of some granola and yogurt, and when I measured my granola I measured a cup thinking that a serving was 1/2 cup! BOY WAS I WRONG!!!! It is 1/4 cup. I just had 4 servings of granola. I only have 231 cals left for dinner. What the heck!!! Maybe I should do some pilates before dinner. That will burn 145 cals.

I like hot stuff, what kind of salsa is it? I have been slacking on my water, I think I'v only had 30 oz too! Drink up me hearty's yo ho!

Wow, trish, sometimes medium is even a little spicy for me!

Silver, i craved Taco Bell incessantly when I was pregnant with my Gracie. The spicy craving kinda stuck & she loves it too. One of her most recent brilliant ideas was to DRINK the salsa from a restaurant we frequent. She went bug-eyed, LOL. It was a learning moment for her-- just because it sounds like a good idea, doesn't mean you should do it!

Nicole, the salsa I got is called Table Top. I found it in the deli. I added it to the food database in case anyone else comes across it.

So you know the awful dinner I have down? Cheeseburger Wraps. Sky high sodium.

THEY'RE FREAKING DELICIOUS!!! It was like eating candy. It was sweet for some reason. I think it was from the sweet onions & cheese. I carmelized the onions in our George Foreman grill. I made the burgers using Boca Burger Patties. Why don't restaurants make stuff like this? It only took a couple of minutes, it was super low calorie for an entire meal, and mind blowingly tasty! Most of what I put in my wroll up fell out, so now I have a delicious salad to chomp on.

I have a church leadership meeting to go to in half an hour, I think I'll walk :)

they sound good! How do you carmelize onions on the george foreman? We have one, but I hate cleaning it!

I actually didn't do too bad considering I went crazy at snack time! I was only over 84 calories!

    Have a great night!

I sliced the onions, threw them in the George Foreman, and shut the lid until they were soft, caramel-colored, and driving me crazy with their delicious sweet smell!

How did you do on water, Nicole?

At my meeting tonight, they had caramel popcorn, mint creme oreos, grapes, pistachios, and hostess crumb donettes (my favorite!). It was SO hard to resist the oreos and donettes, but I did it. I'm pretty sure I ate 3/4 of the pistachios in the bowl, and a handful of grapes. Still way under on my calories tonight, but waaaaaaay over on my sodium.

I make hubby clean the GF grill. He just lets it cool a little (not a lot) and wipes it down, and it's done. It's the dripping bowl that slides underneath that can get kinda nasty, but it hasn't seen much action since we switched to healthier alternatives.

Glad you're okay, Stace. I had surgery in March and it was the first time I woke up feeling nauseous. Maybe you got my usual post-op good health?

Here's the recipe for my cheeseburger wraps if anyone would like to save it:

As with my last crazy recipe/idea, you can feed your family for less than $15 with this recipe:

    (This is what I paid)
4 Boca All American Grilled Patties ($3.00)
    4 Tomatoes ($1)
    1 Sweet Onion (50c)
1 Pickle (probably not a whole lot if you already have pickles in the fridge)
    1/2 bag shredded lettuce ($1.50)
    1 small block velveeta ($2.50)
1 bag flat out flat bread ($2.50)
I'm assuming here that you probably have ketchup & mustard in your fridge, too!

Slice onion & cook until golden brown & soft & juicy (I did this with a George Foreman grill). Grill the Boca patties, mash when done to resemble ground beast. Dice the 2 tomatoes. Dice pickle. Cut block velveeta (as much as you think your family will need), nuke slowly in microwave until melted & creamy.
Plate 1 flat out flat bread for each person. Spread velveeta on 1/2 the flatbread for each person. Add ground boca, onions, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and lettuce. Go crazy on the veggies!
Fold flatbread like giant taco & relish it's candy-like sweetness. A cheeseburger never tasted so gosh darn good! Enjoy everything that falls out on to your plate as an equally sweet salad. You won't need dressing, the ketchup & mustard do that quite nicely.

Total damage: $11, and 464 calories per wrap.

I have no reason to go to a fast food burger joint ever again!

P.S. 60 oz water down the hatch (not counting the 3 cups I had at my meeting tonight), will push for another 30 & finish strong.

EDIT: 90 down the hatch in under 2 mins! MAYBE another 30 once hubby gets out of shower & I can PEE! LOL

Hello ladies! I'm back again. I had a great Thanksgiving weekend, but my eating, exercise, etc. was horrible. I weighed myself on Tuesday at 157.2. I've gained about 6 lbs in the past 2 months, and most of that in the past 2 weeks! The sad thing is that the last 2 days, I finally started logging all my food again. And in those 2 days, I ate over my calories by 1100. Almost double what I'm recommended by MFP. I must have been doing even worse than I originally thought in those 2 weeks, because even eating that badly, I ate better than I had been. I got on the scale this morning at 155.6! WOW! I'm logging everything that goes in my mouth from now on!!!

Stacey - I'm sorry to hear you needed surgery, but I'm glad you're doing well! :flowerforyou:

I'll be back on more often now. I started out on MFP in May(?) at 158. I don't want to get that close again!

It was a struggle to workout today. Just didn't want to do it. I would rather have curled up on the couch & have a nap. You know what I did? I put on my workout clothes, turned on the wii, and pushed through the whole darn thing. 1 light workout with Wii Biggest Loser, and then another 300 calories with Wii Fit Plus.
Usually I have lots of energy after I work out. So why do I still want to curl up in my hoodie & konk out? We even went to bed by 10:30 last night, which is early for us. Up at 7:30 with Grace. What gives?

Amy- At least you recognized it now before it's too late! If I don't log my eating has a habit of getting away from me too.

Trish- I am so glad you pushed yourself thru your exercise! Congrats on that! I sometimes feel that way too, but mine is usually in the morning. Sometimes, if you can of course, succomb to it! It may be your body telling you, "hey! I need some extra rest today!!"

90 oz down the hatch before dinner! I'm feeling really happy about this. Going to make a big push to get 120 down in the next 4 hours.
*Punches fists together & dances* "I'm da champ! I'm da champ!" *glug, glug*

Shera, glad to see you back. It feels like it's been a few days. I am addicted to MFP most days. It's fun chatting with people striving for the same thing you are, and some days I still feel like the food logging is still a game.

Good job on water, Stacey! I'm eyeing my 150th oz right now. I can totally down it in the next 8 mins and call it a night. I think I'll splurge and finish the last of the cranberry loaf cake.
