I did a little better today. I was only 1050 calories over as opposed to the 1150 the day before. At least more of my calories came from healthier foods today. and I drank my 72 oz of water today too! Not much on exercise, but, baby steps.

Shera, Trish, Nicole, & Stacey - good job on the water today!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

    Good night all!!

    congrats on the water--amazing!

Just so I am accountable I am posting on here that I have a challenge this morning and I'm afraid to go because of the food. One word...MOPS. I've only gone once and it was a great group of stay at home ladies and I can't wait to go, but then I know that they have a great spread of food and I don't want to over do it. I've had a piece of toast and coffee but and i'm going to eat something right before I leave but just so I KNOW some one knows I had to post on here so I don't go overboard KWIM?
Anyway, i'll let you know how it goes...*WILLPOWER don't fail me now!*

Stacey - You've gotten to know me pretty well these past few months! I have problems with going cold turkey on things (it's a willpower issue), so, yes, I'm aiming for a max of 900-950 over today. If I am less than that, I'll be thrilled! One of the biggest things that has helped me the past couple of days is that I've eaten breakfast instead of a fattening brunch. One of the problems I've had is making sure I get breakfast at a decent time so I can have lunch. I've been eating a fattening late breakfast and little to no lunch so that after picking the kids up from school, I've been reaching for a "filling snack" - Translation: fattening, unhealthy snack.

Stacey, I hope you're feeling better!

Shera, how did the meeting go?

Thank you all for helping me be accountable. :flowerforyou:

Amy, have you thought about a liquid breakfast that you can just grab from the fridge and get on with your day? I love my chocolate Ensures. They are, by far, the best liquid meal replacement I've tasted. I don't feel hungry till lunch time, either, when I have one. Maybe consider it as an option for yourself? :)

Amy, I like to start my day (after cardio and bottle of water) with a cup of coffee w/ fat free creamer and Splenda. It makes me feel full for hours. Sometimes I skip breakfast doing this (oops!) but for the most part just delays breakfast, and forces me to only eat a small lunch bc still full :) Also, helps with my fatigue. I have depression and controlling it with diet and exercise for the most part, but some days need that extra push.

I haven't posted in a couple days... feeling really blah, kinda like you described Trish. But I did force myself to work out, and despite eating some candy, I stayed within my nutrition goals. Last 2 days I have been painting as a workout. Did you know 1 hr of painting equals 222 cals (for 160 lb person, more or less depending on weight)! Wow and I put in 6 hours.

I've been steadily losing weight, doing cardio everyday, and drinking my water (gulp, gulp). So I've decided to challenge myself to do more strength training for the next two weeks. Idk why MFP doesn't include calories burned from strengthening exercises, and to be quite honest I just haven't been doing them. But I'm hearing more and more about the benefits of strength training- helps prevent osteoporosis/bone weakness, burns calories faster, improves oxygen flow, etc. So, I am going to start a strength program today. I was doing cardio 30 min/7 days a week (which is a huge accomplishment for me) but now I will do cardio 4 days a week, pilates one (which is both cardio and strength) and 2 days of strength (upper body, then lower body). Will keep you posted as to any improvements from doing this. Wish me luck

Wow, jr, I didn't know you were an artist. I paint, too! I'm an airbrush artist. I wonder if it counts if you're airbrushing?

Going to chow down on a banana, and tuck away my 60th oz of water before working out.

C'mon, ladies, let's *mimicks Mater from Cars* git 'er done!

Lol. Sorry I didn't explain that very well. While I'd love to consider myself an artist.... alas, I meant HOUSE painting. I was redecorating/painting my dining room/kitchen. While I do the occasional mural for my kids' rooms, I'm really not that great of an artist.

. While I do the occasional mural for my kids' rooms, I'm really not that great of an artist.

huh?? i can't draw stick figures! occasional mural sounds pretty impressive.

as for wt training and logging--i wear my hrm and enter it into cardio--as "exercise not listed" then log min and cals. that's how i do all my p90x dvd's.

Aww thanks :blushing: I should get an hrm to log the cals as well as to make sure my h.r. doesn't get too high cuz that could be bad for my bp.
Hope you're recovering well from your surgery Stacey. My last surgery was my c-section, and it's just so hard to manage with kids. Hope everyone's giving you lots of help, and we'll be here to support you back on your exercise journey when you're able :flowerforyou:

Nicole, don't feel too bad. I just tried melting some velveeta & mixing salsa in, in an attempt to make salsa con queso. Epic FAIL, lol. I'm eating it anyway. One of my biggest peeves is letting expensive food go to waste. My day has officially gone to pot, lol

Also, did not work out. Movie came on TV and I got hugely side tracked. Good thing it's payday & we are going to store tonight. Hooray for walking!

Will push to get 2-3 more mugs of water in and sink the Titanic again!

Okay.. so my moment of truth!!! I didn't do to bad at the MOPS meeting so I'm proud of myself. I had my piece of toast and then ended up being very hungry when I got home because I just ate fruit and a tiny bit of egg scramble stuff. HOORAY FOR ME!
I then had a good workout we needed to fix my dh bike so we walked to the bike shop 3+ miles then rode our bikes home the long way... so probably around 4 miles home
dinner is turkey and baked red potatoes. Feeling good about myself, can't wait to weigh tomorrow a.m. hopefully with good news!

Shera- Awesome job at your meeting! Do you feel empowered?

Stacey- I know how those cookies call, but aren't you glad now that you couldn't get to your feet to make them? If you are like me, you would have eaten waaaaaaayyyyy to many!

We saw the movie New Moon. I read the series and so did my daughter, so we were anxious to see it. It was really good! It followed the book really well, unlike the first movie. even my husband liked it.

So we ended up not eating popcorn because we were late getting to the movie, so I actaully didn't eat enough yesterday...go figure!

Well I didnt lose any this morning when I got on the scale but didn't gain either. The 4 lbs of "water weight" I gained the end of last week all disapeared so i'm back to 165 and I want to really push to get below that. Aunt flo is gone and thanksgiving is over so we shall see how it goes! I started the C25K this week and i've only done day 1 HAHA haven't given up but SHEESH i've been busy.
Have a great weekend, off to find something to do dh is working today and tomorrow.

I hear ya'll on the cookies thing! I posted a recipe for my EASY sugar-free peanut butter cookies under recipes if anyone wants to try those. They are kinda high in calories and fat, but it's the good kind from peanut butter, so you don't have to feel too guilty about indulging.

Well, I started my strength training mission today, and I really didn't like it. I'm sore, but I felt lazy, so went ahead and did 20 min. of cardio after. I think I'm going to try to just mix up some strength into my regular cardio. I can't afford the p90x I'm hearing so much about, but I'll try to make up a routine that's similar.

I'm so hungry today, but i take a few bites and nothing tastes good. I just keep chugging the water. Trying to decide what's for lunch....

I know this is going to sound odd but for me when I first started eating really healthy I MADE myself eat something. Always something healthy especially if I was hungry and it really didnt' sound good to me. I atleast ate something so I wasn't hungry and i was proud of myself afterward because I didn't cave and eat something horrible. It was really hard for me to start eating breakfast, I always waited until about 12-1 before I ate anything then I'd pig out all day. Now I make myself eat something good within 30 min of waking up. I hope that helps, I know if I really sit and think about what I WANT to eat I may not make the right choice. HAHA
