This morning we woke up at the crack of dawn to get our annual family Christmas portrait done. I'll post pictures later.
I have no idea what to eat for lunch. I want to leave myself tons of room to really enjoy myself at our church Christmas party tonight, but not so much room that I'm way under my calories.. Hmm... *eyes Ensure*. I also don't want to be hungry when I do a grocery run here in a bit. Hungry during groceries = unnecessary impulse purchases. One of those times where your belly does the talking instead of your grocery list.
Hope your day is going well!0 -
Trish, the holiday portraits are SOOOOO cute, reading to the little one...priceless.
Yeah, I decided to go with a coffee flavored protein shake for lunch. Chewing anything was making me gag... so weird. Didn't want my stew or even a candy bar! (I let my kids have it after one bite. So sad as I eat healthier my kids are eating worse lol). But I put my little one down for a nap, and my 6 year old and I are making lunches/ dinners for the next couple of days. I love to cook and rarely have time so I'm taking it! Hopefully having a variety of healthy foods already prepared I'll be less likely to binge on the bad stuff and get my appetite back. Hope you are all having a great weekend with the family0 -
Trish- I love the pictures! Gracie is getting sooooo big! And to my fellow nacho fan! Ole! Hubbie and I are going out to dinner to a mexican restaurant tonite! Yeah!0
-
Yum, I LOVE good Mexican! There's a restaurant near us owned by a lady from Mexico. She is very nice, and all the recipes are ones she came up with. Can't wait to have another chimichanga! So many calories, so much sodium, SO DANG GOOD! lol.
Thanks for the comments on pictures. I have a ton more, but only uploaded a few.0 -
i like the pictures too! i like the colors--very rich looking. obviously it was worth getting up so early--you have a lovely family.0

Thanks, Stacey! I am lucky to be blessed with them.
I'd like to think I did well at the Christmas party. They had chicken cordon bleu, ham, baked potatoes, salad, an entire table of desserts, and rolls. I had 1 roll, plus a little that Grace left behind, 1/2 a chicken cordon bleu (it was undercooked, blech!), and a couple pieces of ham. Also had a TON of salad, with very little dressing, a baked potato with only sour cream on it (half the cals and just as tasty as loading it with cheese & butter). My biggest triumph was the dessert table. We have some sensational cooks in our church, and everything was homemade. I had 1/2 a little pastry puff, 2 lemon cherry bar thingies (they were delectable, just couldn't keep my hands off), a tiny piece of cookie, and a chocolate covered truffle. YUM! All very small treats, but worth every calorie.0 -
good for you trish!! sounds like you really restrained yourself! when you look back at last year's xmas party at the church, how does this year's compare (in terms of your eating and your feelings)? if you feel proud, hold on to that as you go forward on this journey.
anyway, great work!! and i hope to catch up to you soon!0 -
I don't really remember last year's party. Not sure if we went. I think with Grace being 6 months old back then, we might have completely spaced it.0

oh. i was just thinking it would be a good feeling to know you've improved your health from one year to the next. kwim?
time to turn in. see all you ladies tomorrow!0 -
Yeah, I KWYM. I remember how good I felt, emotionally, when my hA1c was down in the 5 range while I was pregnant. That's nearly unheard of! I was my doctor's poster child, she was so proud of me. After I had Grace, I completely fell off the horse. I want to get back on track & get my hA1c back down to the 5 range again, and keep it there for at least a year, and maintain it during my next pregnancy. I hated the way the L&D team treated me when I was in labor with Grace. They threw my entire birth plan out the window, just because I'm diabetic. They didn't even care I had Nazi-like control over my numbers!
*deep breath*
Sorry, that still gets me riled up.0 -
Happy Sabbath, ladies! I'm really proud of myself today. I've stayed 7 UNDER on sodium! I don't really have anything but fruit to snack on, so I think I'm safe till dinner. I'm making home made veggie pizza. Less than 600 calories for 1/4 of a large pizza!
Andy (hubs) thinks I'm crazy about my new sodium obsession and wants me to talk to my doctor.
I woke up with a sore hip this morning, so I don't think I'll be getting much exercise in. But it SNOWED! So that makes me happy.
Going to weigh in on my Wii, then snuggle up on the couch for a while. We are putting our tree up tonight. I'm excited!
Hope you're all having a lovely, peaceful day with your families0 -
You ladies were definitely talkative while I was away this weekend! I've caught up a bit.
Trish, good job on restraining yourself!!! You did a good job!0 -
So far so good today, got a good portion of my house cleaned today it's been off and on so i've only counted an hour but I've made progress.
-trish- I hope your hip gets to feeling better!
-silver_dream- I can totally relate, i've missed a few days on here before and I felt like I was WAY behind on what everyone was talking about LOL How has your week been ?
Off to fold laundry, then i'll definately be feeling great. My 2 worst chores will be done. Bathrooms and Laundry ..why oh why can't those be more fun to do LOL0 -
Shera, glad you got your stuff done! yay!0

been quiet today. did a lot of resting with feet up. did NOT get giant cookie tray at Costco. slobbered for it, but did not buy it. Nor did i buy the M&M's. all big accomplishments for me. i did eat some danish butter cookies and sampled a part of cinnamon roll---but still ok with calories.
tonight's dinner--acorn squash and water water water. mmmm
trish--i hope your hip gets better. silver, your #s are getting big!! and shera--can you come do my house this week?? i'm just not gettin to it.
must fold laundry tonight too. hohum.

WTG, Stacey! Way to show those sweets who's boss!
I surrendered to the awesomeness that was our pizza. It had to be at least 6 inches high with all the veggies we put on! I was only going to have 1/4 of it, but I ended up having HALF! And y'know what? It was less than 700 calories for 1/2 the entire pizza (that's unheard of!). HOLY MOLY! I went over my sodium, but the pizza was SO stinkin' good!
I didn't realize that the crust I got came with 2, so hubby is making the 2nd one now for lunch tomorrow. We piled it high with pineapples, olives, mushrooms, sweet onions, bell peppers, and he put italian sausage & pepperoni on his side. SNARF! Can't wait to eat it. Gonna be hard to resist it tonight.
Ah, what the heck... I'll just get a workout in. My hip isn't bothering me as much anymore, thanks to all your good vibes, I'm sure I can find some low impact stuff.
*dives into AMAZING homemade pizza*
Major 'Za chains, eat your heart out!
EDIT: I resisted the urge. I MUCH rather have this baby for lunch tomorrow!
Night, ladies!0 -
