September Daily Step Challenge

Challenge is to do 10,000 steps in a day. You can do this for any one day or try for the entire month. Jump right in at any time! You can set a lower or higher goal if you wish. Our main goal is to keep activate every day!

It's easy to join - Just post here to begin!

You will need a step counter to keep track of your steps and then post your results daily here.

    I already do 20,000+ a day with all my gym work and walking i do.
    I set myself a goal of 140,000 a week and always exceed it by 1000's of steps.
    To take a look i use fit and and am now trailing bodymedia as well.
    My progress is always posted on my facebook page once a week.

    :flowerforyou: I have been carrying or wearing a pedometer for years......at first doing 10,000 steps a day was a huge challenge and now I far exceed that and have to set higher goals......I'll be participating again in September. :bigsmile: :bigsmile:

    I've been wearing a pedometer for a few weeks now and try to get 10,000 steps a day, although I usually only make it when I go for a walk in the evening. I'll take this challenge :)

    My after dinner walk with my dog is what usually gets me over 10,000.

  • I'm definitely in — I've been doing the Global Corporate Challenge (a step count competition around the world) for three months now, and my daily average has gone up and up. This is great.

    :flowerforyou: I have an Omron HJ-720ITC.....I put it in my pocket when I get dressed to walk the dogs in the morning and carry it all day until I change into sleep clothes at night. I have been doing this for years

    Daily Goal=17,000 steps
    Daily Average Goal =20,000 steps

    August was an exceptional month because my DH wasn't here so I had lots of free time and I did all the dog walking. September will be different so I won't set a goal to exceed July.

    My Sep goals are to beat my Aug numbers.
    August numbers were:
    Total steps: 462,952
    Daily average: 14,934
    Weekly Average: 108271

    9/1 - 10,651 - Misplaced my counter when I changed clothes. Had to grab another and added my last known count from the morning.

    This is why I don't have an expensive counter. I lose it, wear it into the pool, drop and break it, knock it off in the grass (found it couple days later), and the list goes on.

    9/1 - 13,451 Mowing lawn, errands and walk

    I thought about increasing my daily goal but I am also trying to do 400 miles on my bike this month so I am sticking with 10,000 for now.

    I put my counter on first thing in the morning and count all of my steps till bed time. The exceptions are when I am biking and near water. I take it off just before I get on my bike and put it right back on when I am done. At the beach I will leave my counter in my van so those long walks by the water do not get counted :(
