I just found this thread. I set myself a goal of 80 miles to be walked/jogged in the month of September. I've surpassed 50 miles already...have 10.3 miles to go to reach my goal so I'm looking at resetting that goal soon.0

30 miles since my last post here --- I've hit 50 miles and I'm still walking!!
I've missed a few days because of circumstances and ----this from the person who walked a total of 4 times in August!!----I really miss it when I can't get my walk in now!!

I'm in too...I use a pedometer every day and strive for 10,000 steps which I sometimes don't get. Found a formula to convert steps into calories burned which is helpful when tracking my cardio exercise stats so I will use part of that formula to calculate miles for this challenge. For those interested, there are 5,280 steps in a mile...so that means if I do 8,800 steps per day for 30 days I'll successfully complete the challenge. Who is with me???
There are 5280 FEET in a mile... So if you walk 1 foot in front of the other, heel to toe, then its that many STEPS. Otherwise, you are cheating yourself. I did about 4000 steps so far today and just over a mile. It all depends on your stride!0 -
I'm not able to edit, for some reason, so I'll add that although many of the pedometers default to 2,000 steps per mile, most can be set to whatever your personal stride is. The manufacturers recommend that you calibrate it for yourself by taking 10 steps using your normal walking pace/stride and then measuring the distance, figuring out what it is in inches, and then dividing by 10. You then plug that into your pedometer to have an accurate measure of how many steps you took each day and how many miles you walked.0

Damn saw this one 2 late. I've done 133km already this month. Not bad considering my most I could do each time was 3km before stopping. Now I'm up to about 10 or 11km run a day
I actually missed quite a few days this month cause I was not running every day till the last 2 weeks.0 -
