Stacey, it doesn't matter how long it took you to lose the weight, the point is that you lost it! That's a great thing! Keep your chin up! :flowerforyou:

So yesterday Grace was fine. No signs of tummy troubles except being a little clingy. This morning, at about 6:30, I hear a noise a kin to a cat trying to bring up a hairball. Then I hear swallows. The noise repeats. I'm thinking "Oh, no, not again!"
I turn on the light to check on Grace. She's up, but no sign of pukies. I stroke her head and tell her to go back to sleep. At 7:30, I hear "BLEAH!" Open my eyes, and even without my glasses, can see a small white puddle on the floor next to her crib from the bed. It wasn't too bad, mainly bile. I don't know if she's got a stomach bug, or a blockage. She didn't go #2 yesterday, and the other day she did the same thing. I'm not one to go to the doctors for little stuff, but dunno if this is a little stuff things or not. Advice?

I would just call the doctors office and talk to a nurse, they'd be able to give you an idea if they could do anything for her if you did go in. Hang in there, I know now what my mom meant growing up when she said "I wish I could just make myself feel worse so you could feel better" Mom's are the greatest. It's so hard to see your babies get sick, this to shall pass & I hope she get's better soon.

Stacey- I had to chuckle at myself for putting "one tough cookie" .. you like cookies & baking them, you've been truckin along losing weight and that's tough, it's tough to resist a cookie HAHA so many meanings for one little phrase. Sorry, i'm a dork always sounds better in my head HAHAH

Sorry my daughter sent that before I could give my reply. What I was gonna say is that we all freak out when the little one gets sick. My son had food poisoning like I did over the weekend, stopped throwing up for a day, and then threw up again the next day (like Grace is doing). They're tummies are so sensitive that things like milk don't digest well and come right back up. Just look for if her stomach seems to be tight and painful, running a fever, getting very lethargic. If she doesn't have any of those symptoms then chalk it up to a sensitive tummy and keep her on clear liquids and carbs to help it settle. If you have a nurse line to call just to ask a question, then give them a call to be on the safe side. No sense in rushing in to the doctor if you don't have to. Hope this helps and hope Grace gets better soon.

    Hey everyone!

Thanks Stacey for checking on my frustration!:flowerforyou: :blushing: I actaully keep looking over at the sewing machine, and give a big sigh, because after I am done typing this I have to go try again! I am giong to try to fix these stiches one last time, then I am buying her pants.

Stacey, it doesn't matter how long you take, we all have setbacks! I think I have come on here several times saying woah! I ate at least 1000 cals over! I am fortunate that I can get extra exercise on the weekends because our property is so big. Just know that we are all here to support you and we will help you get back on your feet!:flowerforyou:

Trish- I hope Gracie is ok! I agree with just calling the doctors office and asking a nurse about her stomach.

I'm feeling a bit down today. My daughter has been having separation issues and lots of anxiety at school, I am taking her to the doctor today for a yearly check up. She hates the doctor too so getting her to school was a bear today. I feel exhausted just from that:. Also I had to have a minor surgery yesterday and turns out I can't exercise for a month. Exercise was my coping skill and I was getting really good at my morning routine getting up really early and dressed and showered before hubby left for work. It all is working against me today. :brokenheart:  I am having a hard time being motivated after being so highly motivated earlier this week. I started out being under calorie for 2 days and feeling great. Now I feel trodden down. I need to find my motivation again it is hard though. The thing I was good at I can't do anymore. I have a really hard time regulating my food intake. I guess that will be what I need to do next.

    Take care of yourselves! :flowerforyou:

(((hugs))) deb--sorry you hit a rough patch. how old is your dd??

here's advice i was given long ago--you know how when our kids are sick or we know they're having a rough day and then we do the EXTRA loving thing for them? like rub their back? or make their fave dinner? or ice crm for dessert?
well, when you're feeling tender you should do that extra love for yourself. put on the cozy socks, make a smoothie or get take out. something that lightens your load while you're already feeling overburdened. make sense?

i'm sorry that exercise is off limits for now. i totally get what you mean b/c i'm not good at controlling my cals either. hang in there. this too shall pass. life's a marathon not a sprint--and all those other cliches. sometimes one of them actually helps to keep as your mantra to get thru this time.

in any case, you are not alone and you've accomplished so much already! we are here to help you thru :flowerforyou:

So what's for dinner? I'm making Hamburger Helper beef stroganoff with fresh mushrooms & peas.

Grace has kept a slice of bread down, as well as some cheese, and water... so far. *crosses fingers*

I am so exhausted! I've had a pretty ACTIVE day, so it doesn't surprise me, but unfortunately my kids don't feel the same way....
I got up at 5:30 for my workout. Then got DS off to school, DD came home ate breakfast, tore through the house leaving a tornado of damage in her wake, and was finally ready for a nap at 9:30. I cleaned like crazy for an hour, then had to go to a bday party at Chuck E. Cheese. 2 hours of chasing my 1 yo DD and 2 yo niece-one tears to the left, the other runs to the right, scoop one up chase after the other....-uh. To top it all off the mom of bday boy was kinda rude. She bought food for all the kids and SOME of the parents, but never specified we should buy our own. So I didn't eat lunch at all- and I LOVE the salad bar. It was a real bummer of a party but I think the kids had fun. Dropped my niece off for a nap at my mom's but mine wouldn't nap. Rush to get DS from school. Came home-starving! Had fruit and granola for snack. Still hungry-had 100 cal pecan twirl (yum)- still hungry and kids were too, rummaging through the pantry every 5 mins. So we ate dinner at 4:30 lol. Then I roughhoused with the kids playing tag, using my arms and legs to let them "fly" (great ab workout I have to say) and then they tore up the house some more. So that leads up to now, I'm exhausted! Just put Alycia (1yo) down for bed. Prob too early and I'll be up with her during the night. :sigh: And Gavyn (6yo) is reading before bed. But house is a mess and I don't want to clean it. Ready for this day to be over!
What do ya'll do to entertain the little ones in the evening? I'm usually pretty creative, but not being able to go outdoors with the cold, it's hard. I don't miss my DS playing football (it was 5 days/wk! and always rushing) but I do feel like I need SOMETHING extracurricular for them to do. And something that doesn't involve me chasing them for an hour like tonight. My husband gets so mad coming home to a dirty house and everyone asleep, but a day like this there's no way I can wait up for him. (He works 13 hr shifts 7a-8p gets home around 9 or later some nights)

Hey Trish, was hoping Grace was doing better. A plain baked potato is great for her tummy too, a little variation from bread and crackers...
My dinner was a Lean Pocket meatball/marinara. Satisfied my pizza craving. But yesterday I made 2 awesome meals and I'd be happy to share the recipes. They're both high in sodium, so I went WAAAAYYYY over having them both yesterday, but would be ok if you have low sodium foods for your other meals. Was a French Dip (made in 10 mins) and a Creamy Chicken Skillet Meal (less than 30 mins. total)

I'm bad about entertaining Grace while I'm fixing dinner. There's tons of Christmas shows on TV, so I turn the TV on.

Poor Grace. She sees Daddy getting ready to go out (he's taking a rental movie back), and she puts on her snow hat and runs to the door. Andy's been working SO hard lately, he's only been able to spend an hour or so with us since Saturday, so Grace is really missing her daddy!

I decided to give her another slice of bread for dinner, she seems to be doing okay. She was dancing to a song on TV a few minutes ago.

dinner--2 bowls of cereal + goodies in the gift basket from in-law's. and she continues to steam down the hill.....

glad grace is feeling better. and jr--that is a very full day! i'm lucky--dh dsn't care what the house looks like (overall) and is ok with me not making dinner often. would LIKE to have hot dinner waiting every nt but i just call him around 5 if it's not happening.

would like the skillet chkn recipe, if you don't mind. thanks!

as far as entertaining kids--tv/movies, puzzles, books--maybe an evening outing to the library??, simon says, hokey pokey, coloring, playdo, trains and cars, long playtime in the tub?
but truthfully, that's a hard thing for everyone. everyone's worn out/bored with each other.
hope at least one idea works for your family.
familyfun.go.com has tons of ideas and you can sort by age so maybe something there will help too.

My DD just turned 7. Half the time I don't know what to do for her, I guess with her being the oldest it is all trial and error. We have had so many changes lately it is no wonder she is having a difficult time going to school. I have pampered myself the last two days. I bought the newest harry potter and year 5 and watched both of them. I think I needed a day of nothing. Of course now the house is in total chaos, but I will catch up soon.

Thanks for the support I needed a moment of whining, I feel a bit better now but whining aways helps!!:flowerforyou:

Okay, SOOOO... that Godiva dark hot chocolate with homemade sugar free whip cream was awesome... but now my body is screaming for veggies! I want stir fry so bad, it's not even funny.
*Stares at clock* How many hours till tomorrow's dinner?

Is anyone else noticing big changes in their body after eating crappy food? Like you just wanna chug water or chow down on veggies...?

i FEEL like crap. heavy and bloated and sometimes nauseous. (which would lead you to believe i would STOP doing it). and unsatisfied. it dsn't fill me up properly. also, i notice if i have a lot of salty i then crave something sweet to offset it. so it can become this cycle.

time for me to drink some more water and then off to bed.
baby #3 turns 3 tomorrow!!! it's going so fast :brokenheart:

So I woke up this morning with indigestion. Hubby has been working from home the last few days. We both got up at 5 (I had to use bathroom). I went back to bed, but just tossed and turned for an hour. I finally decided to get up and just work in the studio alongside hubby. I probably have at least an hour before Grace wakes up, provided there's no spewing this morning. I'm trying to clear out my studio so we can convert it into a bedroom for Grace. It will probably be her big 2nd birthday present from us this summer :)

Good Morning everyone. Thanks for some of the activity ideas. As far as eating goes, I get like both trish and stacey. Feel gross after, but oh it was soo good tasting, then wish I had something more substantial/healthy. And then of course there is the cycle of salty need something sweet, but then it was too sweet so need something fatty.... ugh. Glad we're all trying to get out of those cycles.

    Here is the recipe, Stacey.

So I just wanted to tell you guys about a weird thing I noticed with my weight loss this time. I'm not at my smallest weight or measurements, but for the first time in more than 6 years I can see my c-section scar in the mirror. This may be kinda gross to hear, but I had to share. See ever since I had my son, there's been this flap of skin hanging down like a W (donelap syndrome lol) and now it is lifting up and more of a U shape. I don't know if it's my diet, 200 crunches challenge, addition of strength training, less sodium, or what. But I'm gonna keep up whatever I'm doing and hope to see more good results.
