silver--calorie control is the most imp factor in weight loss. so don't be upset that you're not doing exercise at this point. exercise is good for so many reasons--BUT it is not the #1 way to lose the pounds.
keep doing what you're doing--watching what and how much you eat and you will continue to lose wt.

So Andy was able to take over after lunch. He got Grace down for me, then made himself some lunch. I decided to take some gas pills to see if it would help the pain in my stomach at all. I curled up on the couch in my favorite hoodie & told Andy I was dead. A few hours later, I hear Grace waking up. I was hoping Andy would get her, but he was dead to the world too. He looked like a zombie when he got done working. Sooo... I get to be a mom. The stomach pain is finally gone (thank heavens), but I still feel pretty weak.
We were supposed to have fajitas for dinner, but I didn't want anything too wild. Yet, somehow, cheeseburgers sound pretty good. I was going to just have an Ensure, and have Andy run out and get food for him in Grace, but I think I might be up for food.
I know fast food is terrible, but I just want some comfort food, and don't think I have the energy to cook.
    Suggestions?

Trish, I say one day won't hurt you! Go for it! Just try to do better tomorrow! Sometimes we all need a little comfort. :flowerforyou: I know it's not exactly the best thing to do when you want to lose weight, but a cheat day here or there won't kill you. In fact it might rev up your metabolism.. I think? Like a shock to the system or something?

I have the room for it, since the only thing I've had all day is water & 2 Ensures, so I have the calorie allowance. Just wondering if fast food would be the best thing for my stomach. I know the answer is no.
Also, I've been off soda since September or October, and can't decide if I should give in & have a diet sprite or not for my stomach. Definitely sending hubs out to get ginger snaps for me when he wakes up.

Diet soda's don't have a lot of calories, right? If you think you could handle giving the soda up again after you are no longer sick, then I say go for it. It's all a matter of control. Just don't make it a habit, KWIM? Look at me talking, I gave up soda for 2 1/2 months and recently picked it back up. I'm trying to shake it again, or I just add it into my calories for the day and try to keep it small. I've been meaning to try diet soda, but I keep putting it off. I guess I should look into it if I continue to imbibe soda.

Diet Soda has 0 calories. I haven't missed it, so I don't think 1 soda will hurt. I guess it was more of an ethics question. Will I be a worse person for drinking one? I probably don't make a lot of sense.

I went with diet 7up when I was sick and it was the best thing. Bad thing was that the next 2 days I drank Dr. Pepper, and alot of it. But I figured it in with my calories and figured with the stomach thing and not eating for 2 days I was ok. I didn't gain this week but didn't lose either. Guess what I'm saying is it wouldn't hurt. I would stay away from the fast food though. Talk about gas and stomach pain! My rule of thumb is don't eat anything that you wouldn't want to taste coming back up (that's what got me through my first trimester of pregnancy  )

Jr, you have a point, I didn't think of that little rule when I said go ahead and have the fast food! Glad you pointed it out!

So I should not eat anything? Cuz I don't want to taste anything twice at all, lol.
    Ensure it is, then.

LOL  Well, I basically go with very bland foods. Plain baked potato, bread, crackers, etc. My first trimester of pregnancy I barely ate morning sickness was so bad. I dropped about 15 lbs. in those 2 mos. (but gained it all back and then some with 2 mos. of bed rest at the end of the pregnancy). Hope you feel better tomorrow. :flowerforyou: Just take it slow, cuz your stomach may still rebel a little. I was in pain for 4 days total, but then mine was food poisoning which I heard has a long recovery time...

Andy thinks it's food poisoning, but I just don't understand how that could be. We all ate the same stuff yesterday. Wouldn't they be sick, too?

    Go, Stacey, Go!

My goals for the next 2 weeks: Survive being a single mom while Andy works his hiney off to meet deadlines. Then he gets a Christmas break, then it's back to the mind-numbing grind of finishing the project by Jan 21. I hope Jan 21 comes REALLY fast. I do like being a mom, but 24/7 of it is no party.

I'm feeling better today (even played Wii Sports for a few minutes), but taking it slow as far as food goes. Going to have stir fry for dinner, no meat. Andy won't be happy about meatless, but I really don't want any meat tonight. It will cut cooking time in half. Less energy expenditure for me, right?

Grace is up from her nap. Going to rustle her up her snacks, and then have her help mommy clean up her toys. I'm blessed to have given birth to a neatnick!

    Good luck, Stacey.

Trish, glad to see you are getting back into things, just take it easy. Sorry that Andy is gonna be so busy.

trish, i'm glad you're recovering. smart to go slow on the food. i like jr's sugg of a plain baked potato. and i know it's hard not to have andy around. perhaps it would help to make a full schedule of things to do with grace and then you'll know how to fill the time. just a thought...
my dh will be away with the girls the first week of winter break. so it'll be me and the boy at home. i will be planning for that week and for the next week when the girls return. otherwise, winter break will be ** for me.
in any case, hang in there. and lean on us when you need to.

thanks silver for the good luck. today i wound up 200 over. but i'm ok with that. it's a start. plus i didn't work out today. the timing just didn't happen.

i have one more hour to drink 2 more glasses of water. will do that!
'night ladies. i'll put up the new thread in the am.

Shera! You go with the Coney island Hotdogs! That is funny! I am originally from PA, so I know all about them. BTW, where were you in Alaska? My friend and his wife are in the CG and they were on Kodiak. they are now in Baltimore.

Small world! WOW we are now in Northern Cali but we just came from Kodiak. We were there from 05-09, btw the coneys were amazing!
