Let's assume you're all grown up and not about to turn 21...

Do you make a deal out of your birthday or not? And why?

The last birthday I think I cared about was 18. After that I didn't care anymore.

My husband makes a big deal. Otherwise, very few people know when my birthday is. I have one every year, though.

I never have... but whenever we want an excuse to get a group of us to have some horribly drunken AC hotel/casino no pants dance time

hubs: "Let's go for your birthday!"
me: "But it was 2 weeks ago."
    hubs: "Everyone knows I'm a sh!tty husband."

    Woo hoo!

I used to, but my husband's parent's anniversary is on the same day, and my FIL died...soooooo it's kind of a bummer day now.

    Boo hiss.

I care deeply...it is the one day a year I except everyone to focus on me and worship me like the goddess I pretend not to be.

I love to celebrate my birthday...

I have it on my calendar at work as a national holiday (it's not, really)...

I'm already bugging my husband about this year - i'll be 40 - so I actually want a party :drinker: along with our Christmas tree (my usual present)...

It is always a good excuse to get no pants dance time... if that excuse is a birthday, so be it.

Yes and no. I don't really care about the individual day, but it falls in the best month of the year, so I make it a month long celebration with all the other stuff going on.

    Yes. Always.

My birthday always gets lost between Thanksgiving and Christmas (it's December 6th) and now my son's birthday is a week before mine, so it gets ultra lost...so I make it a point to be as annoying about it as possible.

I went to Catholic school all the way until high school, and my bday falls on St. Nicholas Day. Well, the tradition for that day is to set your shoes outside your front door the night before, and when you go get them in the morning St. Nicholas will have wrapped up treats (cookies, candy) and left them in your shoes. So every year, on the 6th, in our classrooms at school we'd all put our shoes outside before class, and then when it was time to go to a different class or whatever we'd find our shoes in the hallway with candy and cookies wrapped up and put inside. So it was always St. Nicholas day at school, and my birthday got kinda pushed aside.

Once I got to public high school, it was like I all of the sudden got the day back to myself, and I've been a spoiled brat about it ever since. I also love other people's birthdays too, giving people presents makes me REALLY happy!

Yes. You all got 8 days to think of ways to make it special.

I did find your love of your own birthday crazy, Corn. No lie. But you're in good company, it seems :)

I like to completely forget mine exists.

I don't tell anyone when my birthday is, I hate being congratulated for not dying in the past year!
