When I got in this morning the Smith Machine, Incline Bench, and Preacher Curl bench were all loaded....with a whole 50lbs a piece. 4 for 4 days this week when I got to the gym in the morning I had to put crap away. Thank-you for leaving your plates on the machines.... I don't get enough cleaning up after people at home.
That's the best I can do.0 -
I joined a gym and after a month i finally had the courage to ask one of the trainers to train me (im extremely shy) a month passes and im already friends with him, then one friday i finish my routine and say to him i would see him monday, i get there monday and i dont see him, one of the other trainers came to me and asked if i was looking for my trainer, i said yes, and he said he died
I'm all "WTF i just saw him friday!" apparently he had a massive heart attack on friday an hour after i left. I cried, because even tho i only knew him for a month, i get very attached to ppl after meeting them for a while. I quit the gym after a while because i moved away, but its still sad to remember0 -
It was my first time in Zumba class...I was just Zumbaing away....and I am the one who took a tumble! lol I didnt hurt myself...I just laughed dusted myself off and kept trying to keep up....I guess my equilibrium was off or something...my shoes were tied and the floor was clear and sturdy so I didnt trip over anything...I have never fallen again but I saw this other girl fall...she is not like me at all...she was bright red and humiliated..ive never seen her in that class again...0

I was waiting on a HAHAHA just kidding...what a depressing story.
Reminds of 10th grade geometry and our teacher never showed up to class, turns out he died that morning driving to school on his motorcycle. Sad times.0 -
I call them the dressing room snipers. Every day I go to the gym at the same time (have been for about 3 months)...the past 3 weeks or so, these two women have been coming just a little before me. I don't know for how long they've been there before I get there...but they quit their workout about about a half hour before I'm done. I finish up and I go into the locker room...they're either STILL in the shower or they're taking up the only two dressing rooms. I kid you not they take at least a 20-25 minute shower...and there are only two fitting rooms.
I've dubbed them the fitting room snipers because no matter when I quit my workout or how early I get there...they're always there.0 -

While working out with my trainer once, we were doing a kickboxing session, hardcore. When we were done he commended me for the job I had done. The guy next to us spoke up and said "yeah you look like you just came out of the pool you are sweating so much". I look over and I am face to face with Zach Thomas formally of the Miami Dolphins :noway: One of those moments you wish you were in your pretty workout gear and not a tshirt 2 sizes to big.0

Not a fun story.
I was trying something new and screwed up.
Instead of walking over and helping me, one of the trainers made fun of me with another member.
I complained, figuring the guy would just get yelled at or something and the next day he was fired.
Didn't mean for that to happen, but he was wrong and maybe not suited for the job.0 -
I used to have a trainer at my old gym, and each session he'd start me off on the treadmill for 10 mins to warm up. Well, one morning, I thought I'd set the one next to me going, as he always stands on it, talking to me.
So - the next day, I'm running along, waiting for the trainer to turn up and got the machine next to me going at quite a brisk pace, then when he arrived, he didn't even look at it, just stepped on - and flew across the room.
I damn near crapped myself laughing, and he actually hurt himself a bit - sorry man! Still feel a bit bad about it, not much, just a bit.0 -
My buddy invited me to his gym. As we finshed I was talking to him on the way to the bathroom, as we talked he (on purpose) directed me into the ladies room. I love that guy.0

Our indoor running track circles above the basketball courts and the pool. The half above the pool is enclosed with windows overlooking the pool. One time I'm running and there are signs up on the windows stating that it is a track, not an observation deck, and that parents should not stand there to watch their kids in swim lessons. Two women were tearing down the signs and blabbing about how inconsiderate it was of the staff to put signs up that block their view of the pool and they were going to remove them all and take them to management and complain.0

OMG I would have died!!!!!0 -
I use the gym at my college. The showers are open and the only changing room is the bathroom stalls. Before my water exercise class there is a water aerobic class. A lot of sweet elderly ladies take this class. They come out of the pool, hit the shower area, strip off their suits, take a shower and strut around getting dressed. No shame, just go about their business. I love that they are so comfortable in their own skin. Makes me feel less self conscious. I want to be like those old ladies!!0

He nearly did - he's almost fully recovered now.....I'm kidding, he's dead....0 -
Right, this is gonna sound like a lie and i honestly don't know what he was doing, but i came out of the changing room toilets one time after a workout and there was this old geezer, about 50-60 litterally rubbing his nutsack on the handle to the CR enterance. I asked him WTF are you doing and he said "Uhhh, i had a itch i couldn't reach" Pulled his trousers up and walked out.
I never knew the truth0 -
I farted on my spotter in the middle of a set of heavy squats before...
Perhaps the 405lbs was too much strain for your *kitten*0 -
Got dressed for spin class and popped into toilet cubicle for pre-class pee, left my empty bottle at the sink just outside and 20 seconds later came out to find it had been nicked. Not happy. Who'd want my used water bottle?0

There is a strange lady at my gym. She is always talking to me about what I should do to lose weight, what kind of food I should eat, etc. I don't even know her name and I have no idea why she always has advice for me. I certainly don't ask her for advice.
Anyway, one day after my swim and my shower, I was brushing my wet hair. She told me that I shouldn't be using a brush on my hair because it will damage it. I told her it was all I had with me that day. Next thing I know she comes up behind me and starts combing my hair with her own comb. I jump back startled and she was offended. She said something like "what, you don't like to be pampered?" I told her that I just don't like to be touched. Now I avoid her and change in a different part of the locker room.0 -

I got a crew cut for that same reason.0 -

ICK!!!! NO NO NO!!! Has she never heard of HEAD LICE?!?!? That and I too, hate when people touch my hair (unless i'm at the salon)...especially by strangers0 -
Other than someone's, um, assets swinging in my face while I was trying to get stuff out of my locker, my gym experience has been pretty tame. :grumble:0

This sounds just like my Y. The staff I think finally gave up, and put a couple of benches up there by the windows. I now feel creeped out when I am doing laps and there is an audience up there.0 -

I don't think you made it up. We have all kinds of creepers around here. In the last 3 years, we have had a couple of guys thrown out of the sauna for having sexual relations, a developmentally disabled guy who touches himself inappropriately at the pool, a couple thrown out of the hot tub for playign with each other. Just a week or two ago, I saw a adolescent kid watching his buddy *kitten* (or fake it) with his hand down his pants outside by the front entrance.
Creepers everywhere.0 -
We have the saloon style doors that lead into the locker room, and there's even a sign on which one to enter and exit. I was walking toward the locker room, pushed the door open slowly and smacked a lady coming out...of the enter door. She glares at me like it's my fault she walked through the wrong door. I was stuck right behind her in the gym class too. Every time she looked back and glared at me. How hard is it to just follow the signs and go through the right door?!
that happens everywhere!! PISSES ME OFF- ESPECIALLY AT WAL-MART! lol
EXACTLY!! And they look at you like "Get out of my way!!" :grumble:0 -

Well I have these two little kids that watch me and giggle...oh wait those are my kids and my gym is in my house, LOL0

Not so much a funny story that happened at the gym...however one time I was with a friend of mine at the gym and we were watching some of the meatheads lift and laughing at the the faces they were making. Out of nowhere, she then announced that the faces people make while lifting heavy are the same faces that people make during "bedtime". And now that's the first thing that pops into my head when I see someone lifting. She just smiled and said "you're welcome". Yah...thanks SO MUCH for that! :noway:
So I though I'd share with you all as well. You're welcome. :laugh:0 -
Last week a dude came up to me and asked me if I would train him and make him hard.0
