  • I read that you can use chia seeds to substitute eggs somehow. Gotta find that article again.

And what is the BUMP thing about???? I feel old, I'm so out of the loop on internet lingo

Thank you for the reminder, I always forget about using chia seeds.

    mmm....sounds interesting.
I wonder if the addition of a little coffee to the batter might not be good.
Yes. I'm thinking coffee and cinnamon....maybe a little cayenne pepper. Definately going to try this one!

A girl after my own heart! Great ideas! bump for later

When someone says "Bump", It means that they are wanting to access this post again - maybe to read it again when they have more time; or for me it is so that I can access the receipe (and the nutrient values) when I am going to make the cake. Basically so that it is easily accessable for me.
Also by Bumping - the post will go to the top of the 'posts list' (where you selected to access this so you could read it) - meaning that it can still be accessed by others easily.
    Hope this make sense.
    All the best. ; )

You might want to cut the servings in half, call it 6 servings @ 266 calories. Because 12 serviings out of 9 inch cake pan will produce a meager sliver. Six would be more appropriate yet still a modest serving size. IMHO

    Here's what I have:
1 TBSP Chia Seeds with 9 TBSP water –

whisk after putting them in water. The seeds are very light. If you don’t whisk they will clump together.

After a few hours it forms a gel – the gel can then be used in foods.

can be used in place of butter/oil in baked goods.

works great and much better for you.

They are tasteless so you can use them in about anything – soups, smoothies, sauces, etc.
