Clearly I live under a rock and I'm too lazy to Google it, so what's a burpee?0

Begin in a standing position.
Drop into a squat position with your hands on the ground. (count 1)
Extend your feet back in one quick motion to assume the front plank position. (count 2)
Return to the squat position in one quick motion. (count 3)
Jump straight into the air as high as possible. (count 4)0 -

Pretty much death in a jump0 -

Thanks for the definition. I was thinking it was partially puking up a Slurpee.0 -

That would be more enjoyable - I hate the things - how seriously messed up do you have to be to invent them!!0 -
I secretly love burpees! :smokin: :smokin:0
-
Not only I dislike doing them, but I also think that they couldn't possibly find a worse name.0
-
I'll have to try a few to properly determine if I like them, hate them, or they make me partially puke.0
-
These sound like the "squat thrusts" we did in high school.0
-
Not my favorites either, but I still do them as hard as it is to push myself to.0
-
But they do a body good0
-
Folks sure love to come up with new names. When I was a kid that was a push-up. A four-count push-up technically. But in our gym that was the push-up expected.0

This is what i was thinking0 -
They do suck, but they are EXTREMELY effective! ie. Love/Hate relationship :mad:0
-
They are seriously crap...... I cant stand the things. I will do star jumps and running fast on the spot and squats and lunges and anything else all day long but burpees- I do three and thats enough.
Avoid at all costs!! lol0 -
I have to agree. Personally, I am too clumsy to do them. Plus, they make me fall out of my top.0
-
Ditto mountain climbers! Hate 'em, and if you tried to climb a mountain with that particular motion, we'd be scooping you up with a shovel!0

The squat thrust is a part of the burpee. From standing drop to a squat thrust then jump.0
