I think I knew too much about it so it ruined it for me. I got 100+ pages in to the first one and couldn't go any further. I didn't think it was written all that well. After she used the "mouth pressed into a hard line” phrase for about the 14th time I lost it.
  • Loved the books. If you loved that People Mag is saying the next best book coming out is Bared to You by Sylvia Day, The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by Anne Rice and Lady Chatterly's Lover.
  • I hope this replies to the correct person... I AGREE!!! ROFL

I read all 3 of them in about a week and got everybody around the office reading them. The best thing to happen to my sex life in a long, long time.

    ^^^THIS^^^

Seriously. I know, I know, it's trashy, erotic fiction. But Hello Batman! Worth it, and my husband thinks so too!! :smokin:

I would be embarrassed to have them in my library. If you want to know what they're about, just google 'porn'. I'm not into 'naughty' books. They're empty plots, and a waste of time. There is nothing real about them. But if you're into that sort of thing, I guess you'd like them....

I admit that I liked the books. The writing was mediocre but I understood where it was going. 2nd Book was the best in my opinion and I have to say... all the lead up in the 3rd left me disappointed with the ending. It just stopped.

On another note, if you're looking for erotic fiction, just read an Anne Rice book. She is a huge Erotic fiction Author.

Everyone at work was talking about it so I decided to download it to my iPad ..have to say I only got about midway and haven't picked it up for a few weeks.. I got bored...lol. The writing is very bad and very repetitive..but that's me.. If a book doesn't grab my attention in the first couple of chapters..I rarely will finish it.

They were crap. I read them while I was on the treadmill. They at least passed the time.

Bared to you was no better. It's the like reading the exact same story.

I'm all for people reading erotica. Porn for the female mind. These just weren't my idea of good.

Google Anne Rice and see what she's written for erotica. In fact, I saw her books for sale in Target a couple of weeks ago. That shocked me.

I'm so happy i bought it cheap on kindle, because otherwise I would have been wasting about five extra dollars...

I got to the third chapter of book one and quit. There are so many BETTER AUTHORS. WHHHHYYYY was this in my favorite section of the bookstore when it doesn't even have a plotline?????

On a sidenote, Bared to You was okay. Just okay.

But seriously, Black Dagger Brotherhood will FOREVER be better...

(p.s. this is the tenth 50SOG thread at least, lol.)

I really enjoyed the characters and although there are definitely bits that are repetitive, overall - it is a fabulous modern version of beauty and the beast. Just enjoy it!!

I liked the books. It was fun to me. I did not think it was porn by any means. The only Dom parts were mild and only stories of what he COULD do with a newby to sex in general nd never really would do much of his "DOM" things so don't expect real full on Dom and submissive action. More like Dom and virgian girl who changes him from wanted to do it.
I still enjoyed it, sometimes it drags on to me but still liked the silly story in all. :)

Though I'm gonna be honest - I work at my neighborhood pool, and I see middle aged suburban mommies sitting at the side of the pool reading porn while they watch their kids swim. Weirds me out a bit - especially when they make strange facial expressions when they're reading.
    Agree. Disturbing.

You should SEE the things my husband and I do to eachother in our room while our kids are right outside the door watching TV. How disturbing is THAT?

I don't think I was ever more annoyed with a book. (I want to punch her inner goddess down...there)

But I suppose I can't say anything because I did read all 3.

    Atleast it kept me entertained.

I have read the 1st and 2nd and struggling through the 3rd. I cringe every time I read "my inner goddess". :ohwell:

A guy who has issues with intimacy (due to his past) and is learning to trust with the help of a girl. And on the other end, a naive girl who is learning to push her boundaries in the name of love.

Having been in a similar relationship (as YOU put it, not what everyone raves about), I find this part interesting. I'm just starting the first one. Haven't gotten to the steamy parts yet. Watching Ana and Grey's relationship begin is like reading my own story. Telling him about it and having him see it too... priceless. :blushing:
I don't give a hoot about the writing. I've read amazing authors and lousy authors and it all comes down to what the story says to you, IMO.
