I'm starting tomorrow - really, tomorrow. It's 11pm now! You guys are an inspiration - although I'm 5'8", I hope you guys don't mind me seeking into your group. I hope to be in your boat in 6 months. I saw a post on my facebook that said 'In a year from now, you'll wish you started today' - I feel clear now in my path. Thanks guys!

I dont have any of my post at the moment. I started out at 257 in April of 2011, by the end of the summer i had lost 20 lbs. I maintained until the beginning of the year. From Jan 2012 to March 2012 I lost 30 or so lbs. As of today I weigh around 189-191. Im 5'7 and starting out I wore a size 20 in jeans,mid-way I wore a size 12/14(size 12 was my goal), and today i can wear a 10/11.

only like 40 or so more lbs!

I started at 217 and I currently bounce between 200-204. I have lost 22 inches and almost 3 pants sizes since the end of July. I just watch what I eat and workout a lot. I was hiking 5-20 miles a weekend. I go to the gym most days and do cardio and lifting 3x week. I was doing lighter lifting, but I recently bumped it up and I can tell how much stronger and toned I am already getting. The last time I was in this size pants, I was a good 30 lbs lighter.

I started tracking my food on MFP (never tracked food before) and joined a gym. I do group classes 2-3 times a week and treadmill another 1-2 times. I lost 10 pounds in the first 30 days.

I think the key is to know that your weight will fluctuate. I weigh myself everyday so I get used to seeing the number go up and down - and I am not devastated when it goes slightly up.

Also, my husband gave me the best advice. "If you're trying to lose weight, you will always be a little hungry." I used to freak out when my stomach would rumble. Now I know I am no where near starving!

    Good luck in your journey!

I'm 5'5". Here's some progress. The dates are noted. I started here on MFP in January. Started working out April 3 & was at goal (maintenance) August 18. That was 25 lbs down from January (165 to 140). I did 30 Day Shred, Ripped in 30, Kickbox FastFix, and just finished 6 Week 6 Pack, though I've not added that to the bottom photo.

I never took any starting photos, but after losing 30lbs, I'm down from a size 16 to a size 10/12. I fit into clothing from high school, even though I'm still 20lbs heavier than I was, and I feel so much better! I'm 5'7" and at 167lbs right now- I started at 200, and I'm NEVER looking back!
It got slow after about 3 months, and I plateaued for a while. I'm upping my calories little by little now, and I'm finding that as I up them, I also have more energy to exercise (DUH!)
My goal is still 140ish, but we'll see! Halfway there!

I started at 204 lbs in March of this year, I'm currently at 154lbs - my goal weight is 145lbs, sooooo close!
You can see pics on my profile, although I need to add a more current full body pic
My excercise these days consists of a lot of dog walking and an occaisional bike ride, and since using a wii to track my progress I can now deal comfortably with the inevitable plateaus - it's like my body has to adjust to the new weight before letting go of more.
    Best of luck to you!

I'm 5'6" and went from 190.5 to 135. You can see my before and after in my profile pictures. Before is in the floral dress at my son's HS graduation. I tight size 12. The after pictures are all within the last month or so. Size 2/4 depending on the brand and what it is. It took me about 8 months of constantly logging and not giving up. I even logged days where I went over. I'm trying to lose the last 3 pounds to make it 100 pounds down from my all-time highest weight in 2007. If I didn't have saggy skin, I think I'd have a pretty rockin' body. I'm starting to see my muscles under there!

    Hey Ladies,

I'd like to know the calorie goal that has been the most successful for you. I know it's not a one size fits all kinda thing, but some of you currently have or started with very similar stats to mine. I'm 31 y.o. and 5'6 started at 222 lbs about a month ago. I've lost about 10lbs now. MFP recommends I eat 1340 calories, but I'm worried that may be too low in conjunction with my exercise (strength training 3x/week, cardio 3x/week). After reading a few recommendations I started eating back some of my exercise calories this week. I just want to make sure I am doing this the right way so that I lose body fat and get stronger and put on muscle at the same time. Loved to hear your most successful calorie count.

    Hi All,

I'm 5'7" and just reached my half way mark. I didn't take before and after photos, but a friend took a picture of me 10/20 and I was shocked to see the difference in my face. I'll have a full body shot taken this weekend so I can see the difference. I started at 191 and I officially started using MFP at the end of July this year. I'm currently at 164. I have 24 more lbs. to lose, but I'm working on it a day at a time.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your progress, it keeps me motivated!

Picture on the left was June 16, 2012. Picture on the right was last Saturday, October 20, 2012. 27 lbs. down.
