Why do people.......

My diary is open.
Mostly because i have thick skin and if you give advice about my diary that i dont ask for, ill tell you to suck a hard one..
I dont ask, and you shouldnt offer advice.
Why do you even CARE? This is their journey. If they are failing in it.. they WILL ASK.. at that point, you can say..
"hey, hard to help unless we see what you are eating."
they dont need to keep it open 24/7 for people to give them **** about making a mistake.
People need to realize that MFP is sometimes the ONLY damn place they have people to support them.. they work hard, and one simple slip up (or even a cheat day, like i have every week) is OKAY.. but people want to bully and nit pick about it.
GROW THE HELL UP PEOPLE... these are adults. They are very aware that ice cream and brownies make ya fat.
Leave them alone unless they ask.. "what am i doing wrong"
They have a right to keep their diary open, or closed.
This is a place for them to COUNT CALORIES, not to be judged, belittled or mocked.
MIND YA DAMN BUSINESS!0 -
Ok, Here's my diary, open to the public, now pick away. Breakfast: 3 whole eggs, three egg whites, 1/4 cup salsa, 1 cup cooked oatmean, 2 tsp stevia. Lunch: 8 oz baked tilapia, 1 cup brown rice, 1 cup broccoli. DInner: 8 oz skinless baked chicken breast, 1 cup brown rice, 1 cup broccoli. For a snack usually a protein shake or some extra chicken and apples and bananas.0

Why do people .................start threads griping about people not having open diaries when their profile is set to private and their diary is not open? HMMMMMM????0

Mine is open to my friends as well. People who dont share their diaries with anyone else must be hiding something.
A deep dark chocolate and alcohol secret maybe?
Usually an eating disorder. Or at least I think so. Otherwise why wouldnt they let anyone else see what they eat?0 -

Because they don't want people who make absurd assumptions like "anyone who doesn't have an open food diary must have an eating disorder" looking at their diary. Because god knows what that kind of person would think of them if they saw what they ate!0 -
Funny thread...
Both funny as in very humorous (loved the cat comment ) and funny as in, well, just crazy. The comments about people who don't open their diaries having eating disorders is really imaginative
It actually makes me appreciate that MFP is allowing for a choice to either share the food and exercise diaries or keep it to oneself.
Thank you, MFP :flowerforyou:0 -
I think people are selective as too whom they allow read there food dairies, because there is so much unqualified advise handed out, from people who have a little bit of knowledge.0

Jaysus, thats a bit of a sweeping statement.
Sure .loads on here has an eating disorder, or did, or trying to recover from one. You telling me someone who is trying to loss 200lbs deserves more support than someone who is trying to gain 20lbs?0 -

I only come on here to be nosy and see how how people are going and to get info to help me, open diarys are better, nobody would judge you unless you ask for advice, I'm finding it all hard at the moment only because I'm hooked on junk food and if you look at my diary I rarely eat fruit because I have to be in the mood plus in my head a banana 110 calls or a weight watchers cake 75-85 cals I would always eat the cake :-( one day I will change0
-
Your just luck then, shame we are not all as lucky as you :-(0

It isnt just the food people make snide remarks about....it's the exercise as well. It seems some people cant accept that not all of us can join a gym or do aggressive work outs. Its not always because we dont want to or are too lazy.........some of us merely cant owing to physical limitations that are also not always centered around being too heavy.
Just stop judging others........either support em or shuddup0 -
i love seeing my friend's diaries, especially those who have the same eating style as me. i like to get ideas, but for those that don't --i don't judge what they eat. it's not my trip. i support them either way.0

....Not have their food diary available for friends to see, the amount of knowledge on this site will be vast and by scrutinising your diary's people will be able to give you some great advice.
basically.....get your diarys out!0 -

A mad person? On the forums? Never lol0 -
now all the bios are going to require a food log w/ friend requests--saves time.0
