If you are getting ready to work out and you realize that you are a bit hungry should you eat someting first or wait until after you're done?

I always eat after. I always feel terrible when I work out with a full stomach. Just be sure to drink lots of water beforehand.0

My stomach feels woozy if I eat right before, normally I do right after.0

After, I even run in the morning before I eat. Nothing wrong with being a bit hungry.0

i sometimes have a banana or something small before.0

I don't know if this is true for others, but if I start exercising when I'm a little hungry the hunger goes away until I stop exercising. Also, if I do eat, it's only 200 or so calories of maybe nuts or yogurt. That seems to be ok on my stomach before exercise.0

after , or i burp it up the whole time.. :sick:0

Because of my work schedule, I workout after I eat. I'll eat dinner as soon as I get home, wait about an hour then do my workout. That works best for me because I figure I'm fueling up for my workout and I'm burning it all off.0

Depends. If I will be running more than three miles or so, yeah, I will get a quick something like a small protien shake.0
-
If I'm going REAL heavy, before. But usually every other time would be after, ESPECIALLY with cardio!0

After normally0

Usually for my morning workouts I eat breakfast before. Its always small like cereal or some type of fruit. I always eat a good snack afterwords so I'm not starving by the time I get to work. For my evening workouts I always eat afterwords. Helps me to eat less.0

I always wait until after my workout to eat... If I eat before, it makes me feel nauseous during.0

I have a LF cheesestick & a few almonds prior to working out ...... and then a regular meal afterwards, cuz I'm starving !0

Hi, if I go to my dance class I do but I have something 2 hours before I go. If I am going to the gym I eat afterwards0

Because I'm getting away from all cardio and starting weight training, I do eat about a quarter cup of oats with some almonds and cranberries mixed in just to boost my carbs. If not, because of the weight I'm lifting, I feel sick to my stomach and feel like I'm going to throw up. I also stay very well hydrated.0

I work out late in the evening so I always eat before.0

For me as well. I usually just drink water with my vitamin.0 -

Depends on what time I work out. If I'm awake for at least an hour before the workout (most days), then I eat yogurt before and carbs and protein after. If I go to the gym at 5:30 a.m. (Wednesday morning Spin), don't have anything before, but lots after.
Saturdays, when I go to the gym at 8:30 and stay until 11, I eat before and after.0 -
I drink a vitamin water during my workout (bike) and a bottled water and eat something after. If I'm really hungry, I will have a single serving applesauce - doesn't bother my stomach at all and gives me the energy I need. I workout in the morning.0

A little something before (I work out early am) then the rest of my breakfast after.0

My trainer recommends if you are doing intense strength training to eat an hour before your workout but he says its fine to do a cardio on an empty stomache and then eat protein within the hour after you workout0
