I found a pin of Bob Harper’s 20 “skinny rules.”
The Skinny Rules
1) Drink a large glass of water before every meal - no excuses.
2) Don't drink your calories.
3) Eat protein at every meal or stay hungry and grouchy.
4) Slash your intake of refined flours and grains.
5) Eat 30 to 50 grams of fiber a day.
6) Eat apples and berries every single day. Every single day. Single day!
7) No carbs after lunch.
8) Learn to read food labels so you know what you are eating.
9) Stop guessing about portion size and get it right - for good.
10) No more added sweeteners, including artificial ones.
11) Get rid of those white potatoes.
12) Make one day a week meatless.
13) Get rid of fast foods and fried foods.
14) Eat a REAL breakfast.
15) Make your own food and eat at least ten meals a week from home
16) Banish high-salt foods.
17) Eat your veggies - JUST DO IT!
18) Go to bed hungry!!!
19) Sleep right.
20) Plan one splurge meal a week if you must. .0 -

I don't agree with half of these. There is only one "skinny rule"
1. Don't eat more calories than your body uses throughout the day.
this down to a T .. calories in vs calories burned and keep protien up .SORTED0 -
*facepalm*
I agree...wow, Why make this so complicated? Does it make people feel more superior the more difficult they make it? Does it make them think they earned it more? I am baffled.....:noway:0 -
I like this, it really shouldn't be complicated at all.0

Not attacking you - these are not your 'rules' - but most of these are not necessary for weight loss, especially if you are logging your food.
My rules:
Rule 1: Eat at a reasonable calorie deficit with mostly nutritious foods
Rule 2: Hit your macros for body composition (protein) and health (fats) reasons
Rule 3: Strength train
Rule 4: Sleep
Rule 5: Eat ice-cream every night
AMEN lol0 -

Like this. My Rule 5: eat chocolate every night (small portion for me)0 -

My rule.. 80/20. 80% good, 20% bad.. and exercise.
Plus, why the hell would you want to go to bed hungry? Thats just setting yourself up for failure my dear.0 -
although I agree with some of these 'rules' in general I dont do the whole rule thing - the more rules that are imposed on me the more I tend to say 'F' you and go my own way - and not just with eating.
For me IPOARM is perfect because it's basically no rules - that works for me. Also a lot of those rules are just simple common sense
getting enough sleep - well duh it's always better to get enough sleep
the no meat thing wouldnt work for me at all - Im a carnivore - meat is manditory
eat a real breakfast - define real - I personally do a protein shake for breakfast every day with a coffee thats got sweetener in it - as I told my PT - it's either a protein shake for breakfast or nothing - I dont do breakfast.
The no carbs in the afternoon- that might work for some but dinner without some form of carb (and that includes the veggies) is just wrong - no balance
Drink your water period - not just when you're thirsty - running at a state of constant low-hydration makes people cranky even if they dont realize it.
Nothing on that list of rules about strength training either - major deal breaker there -
So here are my rules
eat less move more
quit with the crap that comes out of boxes, cans and factories
lift heavy **** up and put it back down
be happy0 -
1. Don't eat more calories than your body uses throughout the day.
2. Don't make it more complicated than it needs to be.
^My only rules. It seems to be working pretty well so far.
And seriously, who can live without potatoes? Why does everyone keep hating on the tater anyway? 110 calories (on average) of deliciousness - and it keeps you full. And it's a good source of potassium. I seriously do not see the problem here0 -
So on the meatless day, what are you supposed to eat after noon if you cant eat carbs? Lard? Lol0
-
Go to bed hungry?
WTF? Yeah, 'cause not being able to sleep because my stomach is growling is a brilliant way to aid my weight loss.0 -

Yep.
I eat carbs all day long with no problem. And I have to say, when I was one of those hated naturally thin women, I didn't do ANY of those things.0 -
Love it!0
-
I agree with less than half of those. I leave the arguments to the "calories in, calories out" camp.0

I used these when I first stared.. It works.. He gives you the keys to take control of your life.... AWESOME Book..0
