THAT IS WHY WE ARE ALL FAT!!!! BECAUSE 1000 CALORIES = 1 POUND!!!!!0

calories is not a measure of weight.
i weighed an empty glass on my kitchen scale just this morning. 11.1 oz. I filled the 16 oz glass with water and it was 1 lb 14.3oz. Therefore, the water itself was over a pound.
That proves 3500 cals is not 1 pound!
actually, it proves that 1 pound is not 3500 calories
16 oz of butter is 3256 calories. SO it is close!0 -
What did you eat? A pound of muscle weighs more than a pound of fat.
Hmmmmm a pound is a pound....so one pound of muscle weighs excatly the same as one pound of fat.....the voulme will for sure be diffrent....buuuuut a pound is a pound !!!
This can't be true. I'm always heavier after I lift weights.0 -
No no no, you have to burn 3500 to lose 1 pound.0

Why would anyone eat a pound of muscle?
Mussels go great with beer.0 -
Oh for heaven sake!0

If you eat standing up the calories don't count.................no seriously
That where a lot of people go wrong. STAND UP NEXT TIME!0 -
3500 surplus or deficit = 1 pound up or down
Your weight fluctuation for today has to do with the volume of food you consumed. It is like filling a bag (your stomach) with food and then putting it on the scale. The bag already has its own weight and it would not be the same with an apple in it. The volume of the apple will increase the weight of the bag. Take the apple out, and the bag weighs the same.0 -
Not sure but I think the food in your digestive tract may weigh more than the fat which it creates. There's water and fiber in the food (usually) that's going to be expelled.
It is a fact though that a pound of fat contains about 3500 calories of energy.
This!0 -
I had a hard time believing this was a serious post. After all, a gallon of water is 8 pounds alone and there are no calories in it. seriously?0
-
Yup. That should do it.0 -

Mmmm beeeeer *drools*0 -
this seemed dubious so i did the math.
1 lb of fat in grams is 454g of fat.
1g of fat is 9 calories
Therefore, 9*454 = 4086!! That's 586 difference!
What about muscle? 454 grams of muscle at 4cal/protein gram is... 1816 calories!
So fat is actually 4086 calories per pound
Muscle is 1816 calories per pound. That means it takes twice as much muscle in a pound of fat
Which means that a pound of muscle weighs MORE THAN DOUBLE a pound of fat.
Proven with math.0 -

Have you checked your hymien discombobulator?
See a doctor about it, sometimes it can affect your trilomthicarus, which basically increases your calorie intake by a percentage.
Seems impossible I know but, stranger things have happened.
Only a doctor can tell you at this point.0 -

Stop thinking of calorie as a measurement of weight and start thinking of a metric unit of energy.

um no. And never weigh yourself right after eating. The water is going to add on weight too. Chill out you didn't gain weight. Keep eating right and weight yourself again later in the week before you eat a 1,000 calorie lunch.0
