It is easy for you to regurigate information that the media spouts. However, studies show that OVERUSE and ABUSE are what makes tanning beds dangerous and makes people more prone to developing skin cancer as is the same with sun exposure..........it is the OVEREXPOSURE that causes the damage.
A few minutes a couple times a week is not enough to cause any damage, especially when it is only for the winter months. I am NOT an avid tanner and looking at me I have no tan.
There are some studies being conducted regarding this and this treatment is far more effective than taking some anti-depressant.
So studies showing that small doses of your vice are completely true and accurate...but studies showing that GMO's are safe are the debil?
It is not my vice, it is a medical treatment for low vitamin D which causes Seasonal Depression.
There are no true studies that aren't biased that says GMO's are safe.0 -
Here are a variety of articles on everything from business practices by Monsanto and also how their crops may be impacting bee and butterfly populations. You can decide what you want but I don't like their practices and will be avoiding their products.

I mean potentially, uncontrolled, this could a.) destroy corn products as you could never be assured that the corn you were getting wasn't potentially contaminated with now naturally produced toxins,
Woohoo! No more High Fructose Corn Syrup!!!0 -

Exactly. You can point out flaws in ANY study and accuse ANY researcher of being biased. Do they get their money from the government? "The gov't wants to make us unhealthy because they're in cahoots with big food and pharma." Do they get their money from private businesses? "They only publish results that favor the firm." Funded privately by an individual? Well, I'm sure they have an agenda too...
To do studies, you need money. And I'm sure you can come up with biases from ANYONE who has money to donate. Does that mean we should throw out all scientific research?0 -

I'm not going to read through all of those articles as it's sunday and I'd rather be doing more important things (like video games!), my intention was not to say that Monsanto was a beacon of corporate awesomeness and had done nothing wrong, it was rather to call into question the sensationalism of calling that particular incident a bailout and to point out just how horribly flawed the French study really was. It shows that there are potentially issues on both sides of the fence. It is not my vice, it is a medical treatment for low vitamin D which causes Seasonal Depression.

Lol. I'm right because I have proof. Your proof on the other hand is biased and therefore incorrect.0 -

bail·out
/ˈbālˌout/
Noun
An act of giving financial assistance to a failing business or economy to save it from collapse.
I'd say if they get free money - it's a bailout. That's the definition of bailout. It's not a minor amount of cash.
As for an incident, it's multiple incidents and multiple countries. This company is being paid for their product because the economic changes occurred which caused them to lose money. If they get free money to keep them 'stable' then they must have some serious connections to the World Bank. Unfortunately, I've read some other articles which now indicate the World Bank is definitely connected to our economy so yes - they are using our money to save their butts.

I can play that game too.
free
/frē/
Adverb
Without cost or payment: "ladies were admitted free"
The governments are covering the cost of the contracts signed by farmers that do not have the money to meet their commitments. Those farmers are still getting the seed and what not that they committed to purchasing. That's not 'free' money, Monsanto is just getting the money from a different source. If anything it's the farmers being bailed out.0 -
Either way, it's "free" and it's still a "bailout" so the company is getting money from sources that end up having to prop it up. That's not exactly good business practices. Personally, I'm ok with a company failing if they make mistakes. They shouldn't have been in business in the first place.0

I am not going to argue with you. I refuse to stoop down to your level. I will do what my Dr deems best for ME.0 -

But that's exactly my point. It's not Monsanto that is the failing company, it's the farmers receiving government aid in order to fulfill their contracts. The alternative? Monsanto takes the farmers to court and sues them for breach of contract; potentially bankrupting them. It's not a bailout of Monsanto, it's a bailout for the farmers.0 -

But your doctor's biased too!
You're missing my point. I don't care if you tan or not. Claiming that ALL studies that oppose your view are biased is a cop out.0
