I got to work out for 30 minutes at gym before the dreaded child care call. i was able to jog 2 miles in that time, which is the longest i have done in years. we have a 5k over memorial day and my goal this time is to finish in the first half, not the second half. we are babysitting 2 additional kids tonight so we have 7 under 5. the 4 youngest are asleep and the older 3 are watching Dora while i take 15 mnutes to play on the computer before i clean adn do taxes. they have worn me out today. i am goign to try to get up before they do tomorrow morning and jog a 2 mile loop we have, there are some big hills so not sure how it will go, but i thought i would be better than the treadmill. we won't make the gym b/c we only get 8 hours a week of child care and we don't go sundays as not to burn hours then, it is normally our day off. i have got to get my water in, i have not been doing well. i am sort of sick of water and been drinking crystal light instead and diet wild cherry pepsi.

have a great night everyone. it is suppose to be gorgeous tomorrow so we might take kids to park to get out of the house.

Trish-glad your kiddo is feeling better! Our kiddo just turned 2 and is practically potty training herself as well. She just holds it and I remind her to go pee about an hour after we eat or drink something. She's getting better about asking, but that's still our struggle. :P She's doing really well which proves she takes after her daddy and not me. I was awful for my mom! I think kiddo number 2 will probably give us more trouble. She is very unmotivated and she's only 4 months old! :) But cute as a button!

Michelle - Holy cow! 7 kids is a lot! I taught first grade and even I cringe at the idea of that many kids in a house. Unstructured time is difficult to handle with large groups of kids. :P My older one (the 2 year old) absolutely loves dora! We don't get cable but have netflix and they are on the instant watch so we watch one every day. :)

Today was a good day. A little more laid back but I still got a lot of small chores done, ate well and got a really good workout in at the end of the day. I weighed in today and weigh almost 5 pounds less! I think some of this is due to the fact that I weighed myself at the end of the day and I think the scale I used at my mom's house must be broken for my original weight. So fingers crossed that this wasn't a fluke. Not really focusing on weight so much as getting my energy back and liking what I see in the mirror. Tomorrow is Sunday which I take off. No workouts and a nice Sunday afternoon nap! :)

girls-- i so NEED your support!! it's what keeps me trying and trying. i see you and hear your voices when i'm gonna make a bad choice and can't wait to share my good choices! THANK YOU!:flowerforyou:

sooo yesterday i barely went over cals
and today--walked/ran for 66 min (21 were "running") and torched 645cals! that's huge for me

and trish--to pump you up even more re: what you accomplished with your 5k
--it took me 42 min to go the same distance and i didn't have any hills
--you did a HILL a HILL i say!!!!
--could never run an interval of greater than 4 min and here you are already doing 19

and everyone else who has been crankin' on their exercise and water--YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!!!! :drinker:

time to have lunch. i will not be eating back all those cals b/c i overate so many other days last week. tomorrow i will weigh in and start fresh in terms of cals in/out.

    HUGS TO YOU ALL!

Don't give me too much credit, I'm only running 90 second intervals for 20 mins at a time, with a 5 min walk warm up & 5 min cool down. It wasn't until the last couple sessions that I started pushing past the 16 min wall of the interval training session. I think you guys are the heroes!

Way to go, smokin' those cals, Stacey! Doesn't it feel amazing?

Feelin sleepy today. Need to chug a lug & do Wii BL. Hubs is cookin stew for dinner. Yum!
  • I just love this group of women. It is so great to have so much encouragement! I love reading your encouragment to one another (and me too of course!)

    So many successes this week!
Kim-Great job on boosting the calories for your workout! I have certainly been inspired by the women here to work a little harder too!

Amy-Awesome job meeting your goals this week!

Trish- Congrats on the weight loss and the C25K success. You were 3lbs lighter, no wonder you were going so fast

Stacy - I love the family fun night idea! Great job on the 645 cals, that is a lot!

Val - wow! 5lbs, that is awesome and worth celebrating!

Everyone else- you all just rock for being on this site and making healthy choices for a better life.

I had a decent week, got a workout in everyday this week. Today is for resting! I sort of feel a bit of a slowdown on weight loss, idk if its because I've been working out harder or if the "honeymoon" period of rapid loss is over...maybe it's as simple as too much sodium. I lowered my calrories a little by changing my daily routine to sedentary. I thought I was more active than I probably am. It only lowered it by 90 calories so it wasn't too much of a change. Most days this week I was at least 200 under w/ my workouts. I have about 400 left today and am still full from Sunday dinner (chicken tortilla soup and salad). My goals for the week are to be as consistent as I was this week w/ workouts and continue to stay under cal everyday. I also need to get more water in but find the need to pee constantly very annoying! Sink full of dishes is calling me...then again maybe I'll just take a nice walk since it's still light out at 5pm!! Yay, spring is coming!! Dishes can wait!

I agree that Sunday is for resting. :)

Ugh...Potty training! I dread doing that with Carter. Alex was sooo easy he practically did it himself, I just know this means Carter will be a handful LOL

    Val ~ Wohoo!! 5lbs!!! That's awesome!!

Stacey ~ YAY for the major Cal burn, that's fantastic!

Did Jillian's Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism today, and WOW was that a workout! Hardest one I've done in a while, burned 500 cals in 50 minutes, I'll take it! I need to get better at getting my water in though. Not much else happening here...hubby is making salsa chicken tonight, yum!

    nicole--glad to hear you're better. :)

here's a link for you homeschoolers--to validate what you already know to be true

  • Is it really Sunday night? I want the weekend to go on! It has been really good here. We had two 45 degree days and now the snow is falling again. Sigh. But hey we were home all weekend(as in not out of town) and I loved that. Great time at church and a baby shower this afternoon. I will be an auntie(again) in about a week.

Calories have but up a bit over the weekend but not more than 300 over--I have been doing 100-150 over MFPs #s because I was loosing a little that way whereas I wasn't loosing at all on MFP#s. So I will probably be up a bit when I get on the scales. I am not worrying about it. Hubby says I feel smaller so that loosening of the clothes means something after all I guess.

    Goals this week

WATER--haven't been hitting my 8 glasses the last 4 days and I can tell
To bed by 10:30--again been up to late for the last 3-4 days
Need to enter my food for the week & have a plan for next weekends traveling
Find some good protein snacks--any suggestions?
Workout 4-5 times this week in preparation for crazy weekend.

Great job on the work out Katie. Glad you are back Nicole. Trish--I ate the homemade bread w/ butter for you. :)
Stacey--thanks for the link--love the site & I really needed this tonight. It helps to have some encouragement as we all know.

Get ready for a great week everyone!

Oh, good, I'm glad someone ate bread & butter for me! I was really craving it with dinner tonight. I was still hungry an hour after, so I had some grapes. I wanted something sweet, but was over on fat. I was trying to convince myself that I did NOT need the egg nog ice cream sandwich in the freezer, and then I remembered we had grapes. Relief! Nom, nom.

Well, today went better than I thought. We went out to eat after church, but went to paradise bakery and at the end of the day I still stayed under in my calories. Whew! That was even without exercising! Really planning to buckle down this week and get my water intake up. I used to do really well at that when we were staying at my parents, but now I've slacked off in that area. I think it's cause my new house is so much bigger it feels like my water bottle is always far away! :)

Gonna try giving the new kiddo rice cereal tomorrow. Wow, they grow so fast!

    Off to bed!
