Lunch - Roast turkey sandwich on toasted Alvarado Street flax seed bread with mixed greens, tomato, green onion, roasted brussel sprouts, mini portobello mushroom, mustard and alfalfa sprouts (my first time making alfalfa sprouts and it was so easy!); and tomato soup with pecorino cheese.

    n1d3zlaihu1u.jpg

Dinner - A mix of roasted turkey, brussel sprouts, carrots, red new potatoes, green beans, onions; french bread with sun dried tomato pesto; and an almond flour pumpkin mini muffin.

Made from 95% Turkey day leftovers. Beef with gravy (started with turkey gravy), mashed potatoes and salad.

Tonight I made a big ol' salad of mixed greens, alfalfa sprouts, cucumber, asparagus, red bell pepper, green onion, mini portobello mushroom, chopped turkey, roasted veggies (red potato, brussel sprouts and carrots), chopped pecans, raisins, pecorino cheese, a tbs of ranch and some Mrs. Dash Fiesta Lime seasoning; and a clementine.

Not a very good pic or food styling, but this was delicious. I've been playing a lot with my pancake recipe lately to reduce its calories and this is a nice version of oatmeal chocolate chip pancakes. The chocolate syrup is not my favorite but I just want to get rid of it...

This was my lunch on saturday. Breaded chicken fillet in a wholemeal bap (both from Marks & Spencer) with extra light mayo and a salad of mixed leaves, orange peppers, olives and extra light salad cream on top. Yummy! 491 cals all in.

    Homemade Pastitsio:

Is that a low fat/cal Pastitsio? I have a recipe I love but it's too many calories for me to fit into a usual day. Would love to get a recipe for a tasty low cal version.

Nope sorry its the full fat version. I don't think there could possibly be a low fat/ carb version.

Omgggg. I haven't had breakfast yet and all of these look amazing. Sadly, when I'm around my family, I get embarrassed and don't take any pics of our food. But trust me, there was a feast!!

Pics from Thanksgiving weekend - I'm sure everyone is tired of seeing the turkey/mashed potatoes/sweet potatoes pictures... so I will refrain. However my family does a
"throwdown" when we get together, which seems ludicrous at Thanksgiving in light of all the other food but... this year it was a Pumpkin Challenge. Here are the entries:

This is fun. Wish I had not just finished eating my lunch. I will photo next time. I had a small as in tiny 70 grams avocado with one OX cream cheese and 10 grams walnuts, cup of coffee with tsp HWC. I think it was 311 calories total. Made a lovely plate.

Tonight will be small steak with a veggie and some thing else because I need to get at least 450 to 500 calories to finish my day of lose to 1200 calories and under 20 carbs.

Dinner tonight was a roast turkey sandwich with Swiss cheese, green onion, mini portobello mushroom, tomato, roasted brussel sprouts and carrots, mixed greens, mustard and some of the mixed sprouts I made (those radish sprouts have a kick to them!); and a salad of mixed greens, sprouts, red bell pepper, cucumber, strawberries, Mrs. Fields Fiesta Lime seasoning and a little Ranch.

Did you make the short ribs just for the ragu or were they originally braised for something else? I have a couple of similar recipes but every time I think about making one I think how much I love short ribs in a red wine reduction and I never make the ragu...

The were braised with the tomatoes, onions, garlic etc. So this time they were specifically cooked for the ragu
