I have a circa 2003 flip phone, so yes.

    My laptop? probably not...

TOTALLY AGREE! My laptop, if I'm not at work or out with friends, is where I'm at! I am on it all the time when I am home.

However, my phone is a piece of crap. Blackberry, you are TERRIBLE at loading ANYTHING. Maybe mine was just defective...
  • I can (and do) often times go a full day or more without looking at my phone. Friends and co-workers sometimes get upset with me, but I hate being tethered to that thing! :)

Funny story Pre X-Mas I couldn't give to ****s where my phone was...

    Then I got an IPHONE

I've sent like 1500 texts already since then, before that I barely sent 15 texts in a week.
    love my iphone!

Think I am on my smart phone too often, checking msgs, facebook etc. Set my self a goal this morning of going 4 hours without looking. One hour down and it's harder than I thought.....who wants to join me?

Wouldn't getting on a computer to send this message an hour into it be roughly the same thing?
  • I go on my phone in the middle of my sleep!!

I could... if I locked it in a safe and lost the key.

Only if I sleep that long.
  • I don't really look at my phone but the computer is another matter. I would probably have withdrawal symptoms if I had to give it up!

Once I went a month without a phone. Or TV. Or the Internet. Poverty sucks, but that's when I started running! Wouldn't ever take it back, was grateful for the experience.

Still don't have a car! Walk or run everywhere!

If my phone is near me, I'm constantly checking it. However, sometimes I'll just leave it in another room (on purpose or accidentally) and not check it for hours...

I would, but it would be 4 hours in which I either won't be exercising, or would be on a VERY long walk.

I use the stopwatch on the phone for cardio more often than I receive calls or SMS.

I don't use my phone often and can go a day without looking at it. If I need to check my facebook, I just use the laptop.

Best solution of all (for me) - no cell phone. To me, it's like being on a leash.

This and I can't justify the cost when there is practically no service in my area.

I have no problem going 4+ hours without checking it. It drives my guy nuts! A few times I didn't hear the phone for a call or a text and my guy stormed in the house (during his work hours) figuring I was dead or something since I didn't answer. I got my behind chewed for it.

I can occasionally go about an hour, but the only stretch where I'm usually likely to go more than four hours is when I sleep >__>

Yep. I have a flip phone that just texts and makes/receives calls and limited internet apps. I got it for the very reason above. I don't want to be a slave to my phone.
It's so sad when I see a family out at dinner and instead of talking to each other, they are all jacking around with their phones.

Not a chance, I'm a terrible phone addict.
  • I'm pretty sure I even wake up every few hours in the middle of the night and glance at mine... lol

does not count as I am at work and I am "working"

My group of friends does the stack your phone in the middle of the table during dinner. The first one that reaches for it has to buy a round of drinks.

You are on a social media/personal life site. I think it qualifies. Now if you were doing spreadsheets, drafting an office memo or checking work email, etc. I would buy into that more. I smell a redo. ;)

Don't become a slave to technology. Life was so amazing before it became over-saturated with electronic devices.

I have not charged my phone since December 7th, and I don't know when I'll feel like charging it again. It is soooo FREEING!

Hahah! Not difficult for me at all. I can't have mine at my job, so that's eight hours of no phone. Then, when I'm home, I don't wanna even mess with it.
