I. Hate. Eggs.

Title says it all. I can't stand eggs....the smell, texture, or taste of them (unless they're in a baked good like cake).

I want to like eggs because they're so good for you. Please, send me egg ideas for a non-egg-liker! Thanks.

ETA: I understand I don't HAVE to eat eggs, just trying to expand my horizons.

When I had to eat them as a kid, I'd choke them down scrambled with lots of ketchup. Is ketchup permissible on a diet?

Thanks, I understand that's an option, but I think it would be nice to try something new.

There are so many food choices out there that if there is a food you truly don't like, you really don't have to eat it.

add some hot sauce to them.

i think hard scrambled eggs are almost the perfect food. just some butter in the pan and some salt and pepper for seasoning.

you could make an omelette and add alot of things you like to it. ham. cheese. spinach. just about anything you can think of.

Make eggie muffins, I love these because you can put whatever yuo like in then to hide the egg flavor. I usually do cheddar, bacon, and chive.

I've hated eggs since I got medically discharged from the military. The only way I can even eat them is with salsa on them... other than that, I avoid them at all costs.

Fry egg in pan with Pam spray. Eat on bagel thin with garden vegetable cream cheese, sriracha sauce and fresh spinach.

Hard boil your eggs and chop them up into a salad. Might help hide the taste some. Do you even hate scrambled eggs!?!? That's sad, they are so yummy especially scrambled.

try buying the prepackaged egg whites, egg beater brand for example, they don't smell like eggs really, and have very little flavor (and not all the cholestoral in full eggs) so if you put cheese, veggies, hot sauce, whatever with it it tastes more like what you put on them. only 25 calories for 3 tablespoons

Some people who can get fresh(pastured) eggs put them raw into smoothies. Don't freak out on me. I do not do it, but many people do.

If you hate them that much I would suggest not expanding your horizons in that direction.

weeeelllll, the texture of eggs, doesn't change that much - so if that's your issue with them, I guess you're just sol. you can always make a quiche with lots of veggies or something, but it's still eggs. you can put raw egg whites in your protein shakes. I do it often and they are tasteless.

Egg whites actually make me gag xD

If you want the nurtrients and fats from the yolk make a custard :D

another option if you are feeling adventurous is to make a souffle. They are not as hard as you would think, and I have a few good small recipes. I like cheese and broccoli, tuna, and lemon souffles actually.

Those two ways are about the only way I will really eat them xD

Would preparing them like this make them more appetizing?

Couldn't stand eggs for a long time until I tried an Omelet! Go for omelet or scrambled and add TONS of chopped up veggies, sauteed onions and/or mushrooms, little sprinkle of cheese. The egg turns into a nice fluffy filler with the taste coming from all the veggies.

I love making flourless pancakes. 2 eggs, mushed banana, peanut butter, baking powder, applesauce, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, cook it like regular pancakes. Yumm, I am getting hungry just thinking about them.

I can not stand them or the smell. BUT I do fine with boiled eggs if I just eat the white. The yolks make me want to hurl. I taught my kids to,scramble eggs so I wouldn't have to make eggs for them. Bad mom that I am.
  • Amen! I hate eggs too. It is actually frustrating to go to a restaurant for breakfast because absolutely everything on the menu comes with eggs.

I am glad for this thread. I have been trying to find ways to up my protein because I am doing harder workouts. Eggs are a natural way to get protein but I just can't stand them. I have thought of trying egg whites though as I think they may be more palatable. Worth a try.

Eat egg whites. You can actually buy them in cartons (no smell) and mix them into a shake or just scramble them in a pan.

If you try something ten times you can overcome this, or so they say.

Could apply to all kinds of things!!!
